We got married at Della Terra in Estes Park over the weekend, and we had Joe as our DJ. He was absolutely incredible!! Our discussions before the ceremony were great because he was such a positive guy and asked all the right questions to ensure every detail was perfect. During the wedding itself, he got everything cued up for the strings players we had, and when it started sprinkling, he jumped into action with an umbrella to cover the readers. For the reception, he was an awesome ball of energy, got everyone amped up, kept us up to speed throughout the night, and had the perfect music mix to hit the right vibes at the right times. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS DJ! He's not honest. He told me I could reschedule his booking at my wedding any time within a year due to Covid. When I tried to reschedule, he told me for the first time he's leaving the state, can't reschedule more than 6 months out, AND refused to refund my $750 deposit. He's totally unreasonable. PSA - Beware of Booking this DJ I had to reschedule my wedding to 2022 due to COVID. My original wedding contract says that Gotta Dance DJ will reschedule for no additional fee within a year if there is a state of emergency, which there is, and which is also what Joe told us in advance of signing the contract. To avoid any doubt, our contract states "I will work with you on rescheduling your date for no additional deposit - if rescheduled in that calendar year." He is not willing to reschedule at our venue, despite being within the 12 month timeframe, as he is moving to a different state before that date (however, in his efforts to balance "having a heart," he offered to provide services in his new state thousands of miles away). While this is in poor taste in itself, this is not a good-faith effort to reschedule on his end. Our contract is for a wedding for 165 people. Due to the current State of Emergency in Colorado, it would be illegal to hold this gathering today, and our venue is unable to guarantee they will be allowed to hold the event on our original date with 165 people. His responses speak for themselves - who can wait until weeks prior to a wedding (as covid restrictions are changing so quickly) to reschedule? Obviously that is not realistic, and anyone with foresight would see the time for an orderly postponement is now. I would caution everyone to do more research than just reading the top reviews on this site - there appear to be several other couples who have got through similar scenarios with this DJ and you can find their posts on here and elsewhere on the web with a little searching. read more

We could tell right away upon meeting with him over the phone that he was the perfect fit for our big night, because he makes the experience entirely catered to you and your wishes. Ahead of the wedding, we very much appreciated the ease with which Joe's system allows you to begin setting up your timeline for the night. Joe has a webpage that made inputting music for the major moments of the ceremony & reception a breeze. He was also very receptive to the style we wanted for our reception, and built upon our vision in ways that made the experience very smooth for us and perfect when it came to the actual party happening. Joe is versatile, organized, and has a calming and welcoming demeanor that makes the hectic factors of any wedding night fade into the background. We had so much fun and so few worries throughout our wedding, and Joe was a major factor in making this possible. We requested a fairly traditional reception, albeit with a specialized playlist - but Joe has lots of options to fit your taste, whatever it may be (including silent disco capabilities). We used Gotta Dance for our wedding in July of 2011 and Joe went above and beyond for EVERYTHING he did! People are still talking about what a wonderful wedding we had 6 months after the fact. The picture show, lighting, and music were all fantastic. Joe worked with us to make sure that we had all of our special needs taken care of, he was so sweet to come to us for our pre wedding meetings! Price is SO reasonable. Seriously, you have no reason to pick any other DJ. I have seen a lot of people try to do it themselves or higher a family member to save money. It leads to dead air, disorganization, and awkwardness. Joe is amazing at what he does and you should get in touch with him as soon as possible!!! We saw that Gotta Dance DJ has always had great feedback, so I reached out to Joe. Each meeting we had with him was spectacular! He sends you home with some paperwork to fill out, including song choices (the "do not play" list was awesome!) He was extremely helpful with organizing everything, and quickly learned that my husband and I were bad wedding planners and was able to walk us through the whole process. Then came wedding day. Joe's timeline is phenomenal! He made sure that every person making a speech knew exactly when it was their turn. My brother asked Joe if he could add an extra toast. Joe was very kind to him, but also came to check with my husband and I to make sure it was okay. His equipment was top of the line and everything sounded very clear. And the music was fun! I love dancing, and the dance floor was PACKED the entire night! read more
