Gould's has recently moved house, it's now in the old Woolworths building as opposed to it's original location round the corner. It's great to see that Gould's is still going with the likes of Ryman and Staples popping up all over the country. But they deserve it, they're great little stationers and as long as I can remember they've been incredibly helpful in every aspect of what they do. I mean this is the place you'd go as a kid to get you're Iron Brew pencil case, as a teenager to get your tip ex, as a uni student to get your folders and then as an adult to get your pens and pads for all the things you start to forget. They really are a great little shop and I would thoroughly recommend them. They sell everything stationary related, including canvasses for the budding artist in you! read more

I concur with the other reviewers, since they moved to larger premises (Old Woolworths) the carry an even bigger range, and you hardly ever fail to find what you wanted. As harumscarum has said its easier to park in May Rd, Mount Rd or Puddydale Car Park, but they are only a 5 minutes away, and theres always space. (Naughty if you use Tesco Car park and dont shop there!) read more

When I was little I stayed at my grandparents house in the Wirral very frequently. Often they would take me to Gould's to get some stationary for school or craft things for my own little projects. I used to keep scrapbooks and make collages and things so we'd pick up A3 pads of paper, glue and any other requirments. I used to love this shop; it was so quaint and full of stuff! Now it has moved to larger premises it has even more, but has managed to retain the old atmosphere. The staff were always very friendly to me when I was little and my grandparents always spoke highly of them. It's pricey- hence it was grand-kids being spoiled here- but it's really good quality. read more

This is a handy stationary shop which has diversified to suit the needs of the customer over many years. It has been established a very long time, around 20+ years and is a handy local stationers selling all sorts from pens, paper, parker pens, card making (limited amount) items, games, puzzles, toys etc. It is situated near to the main cross roads and you can park right outside, but it is quite hard to park along there most of the time so good luck if you do get a park. The shop itself is usually more expensive that large chains of stationers, but it is to be expected from a local independent supplier of whom we should support read more

I like to support local shops so find myself here quite often. Nearly always manage to find what I need, unlike the limited range at a supermarket. read more
