Please note, this is not me bashing the tour, I hope she reads this and takes the constructive criticism. This is a food tour, yet there was no food until 1.5 hours into the tour! The first hour was spent at the Park City Museum. The guide was very passionate about the history of the town, but frankly, me and my party could care less, exit through the gift shop. The next stop was to see the two Banksy murals. The murals were pretty cool, except they were several blocks apart. The first mural we looked at was right next to the first restaurant stop. Instead of starting at the further mural and walking back, logistically we went backwards. It has now been 1 hour and 15 minutes on the FOOD tour and we have not had anything to eat or drink. The first stop was Riverhorse on Main. We sat down in the "private room". Finally, after 1 hour and 34 minutes, we got bread and butter. Awkwardly we were forced to make small talk with our tour mates. The waiter gave a long soliloquy about his favorite thing on the menu, which was everything. The two appetizers, fried cauliflower and potstickers were fine, definitely not worth the hour and 45 minute wait. We then proceeded to the next stop on the tour, Wahso. Surprise, more waiting and forced small talk, this time we went around and explained our favorite food! I can tell that I wasn't the only one on the tour who was 'hangry'. It was another wait to get 1 potsticker, 1 lettuce wrap, and 1 mini steamed bun. To be honest, neither me or my party liked any of these offerings, weird flavors and textures. To recap, it's been 3.5 hours and we had 5 nibbles on a FOOD tour. The third and final stop was Bangkok. Once again, forced small talk. The food was served family style, gross, I am not family with the random people on this tour. The food was average, but not nearly enough portion to satiate even a hummingbird. The waste of money doesn't bother me, the waste of time was a killer. A note directly to the owner: -People are coming hungry, food first -Less history, more Parmesan cheese -Have a schedule and coordinate with restaurants so the food is ready upon arrival or shortly there after -More diversity in restaurant & dish selections, 4/5 dishes were Asian. -Condense the tour, it felt like I was back in middle school just watching the clock waiting for the bell to ring. First, lovely guide, Lisa. Four food stops on this tour. We met Lisa at the Park City Museum. I am not a museum person but found it very interesting. Our first stops were small bites stops, think appetizers. First, Handle for roasted cauliflower. Forgot name of second restaurant. But after some confusion about our reservation we ordered from the appetizer menu. Had crab cakes, beet salad, and soft cheese & toast. Lisa was very gracious about the confusion. Third stop was the Flying Sumo for 3 full orders of different sushi to share. Plenty to eat! Last stop was dessert at Park City Desserts. We planned on walking back to our hotel but Lisa generously gave us a ride. She deserved the tip we gave her. I recommend this outing! read more

I found Gourmand Tours by doing a Google search and was thrilled that they had tours available during the shoulder season while I was in town this week. Chris, our tour guide, truly loves sharing the history of Park City and the cuisine of the Main Street area with her guests. ​ I was most impressed that Chris texted me this morning to confirm my tour reservation. The tour started at the Park City Museum (which I had wanted to see). Admission price is included in the food tour price. Chris skillfully balanced giving us the history of Park City that she knew along with letting us watch short films in the museum's various exhibits. After 30 minutes in the museum, we embarked on the restaurant tour.​ ​ Our first stop was Vinto Pizzeria, where we were treated to a three course meal: the V salad, TWO pizzas (Patate and Margherita), and our choice of gelato or sorbetto. I had the lychee sorbetto which was heaven in your mouth. The meal was excellent, well-paced, and fun as Chris set a relaxed atmosphere which allowed the six of us attendees the opportunity to get to know each other.​ ​ We then walked along Silver Creek to our next stop, Handle, a chef-owned restaurant. We were served one of their signature dishes: General Tso Cauliflower. I've had General Tso chicken and was intrigued with how the chef used the General Tso flavor to coat the roasted cauliflower, topping it with cilantro and sriracha vinaigrette. The dish was very tasty.​ ​ We continued our leisurely walk up Main Street, stopping along the way for various historical tidbits. Our final stop was Tekila Mexican Grill and Cantina. We enjoyed chips and dip and our choice of entrees. I opted for the Carnitas Takos This last stop allowed us not only to enjoy a great meal (again) but also to sit and enjoy each other's company. Chris did not rush us off but allowed the group to chat to our heart's content. At the end of her tour, she gave each of us a homemade pumpkin cookie!​ ​ Chris's kind heart did not end there. My husband and I walked back down Main Street to our hotel. She happened to be on the free trolley and had the driver stop and pick us up so we wouldn't have to walk in the cold, rainy weather. ​ ​ I highly recommend this tour. It is evident that Chris enjoys meeting new people, sharing her historical knowledge, and taking guests to excellent eateries along Main Street. FIVE STARS for sure! read more

This should be on every Park City visitor's list as something to be done as early as possible into your stay. Chris McLaws does a wonderful job sharing the history and culture of Park City. And she takes you to some terrific restaurants, all within walking distance on Main Street. The food is fantastic and because you are only sampling at each restaurant, you want to go back to your favorites. We had a group of ten and it was a lot of fun to meet other people. I lived in Park City for six years and I must say I found the history, the museum and the restaurant tours delightful. read more

I've been to Park City many times, but on this occasion, we were with out of state guests, and I decided it might be fun to do a food tour. What a great idea! (If I do say so myself.) We met up with our awesome host, Rachel, at the Park City Museum, to begin our tour. Then it was off to our first restaurant, Handle. OMG! The General Tso's Cauliflower was amazing! And I hate cauliflower! And their selection of craft cocktails was right up our alley. Try the Haight. (Yes, you can get some great mixology here in Utah.) Then we did a little more historical walking tour before arriving at our second stop, Vinto Pizzeria, for some excellent wood fired pizza, salad, and homemade gelato, accompanied by a great wine list, and some very nice cocktail selections. We then picked up the free shuttle to take us to the top of the hill, for our last stop, Tekila Mexican Grill. They started us off with a generous helping of guacamole and chips, followed by a choice of tacos or enchiladas, along with several sauce choices. Really excellent mole sauce! And the tequila selection! It was very impressive, and they made me a really nice Mezcal a Rita. That's when it started to hail - but we didn't care, because it was nice and warm inside, in part due to the aforementioned tequila selection. You will not leave hungry if you take this tour, believe me. Rachel was so knowledgeable, in addition to being funny and very charming. She felt like a friend, and I really hope we can meet up again one day.
