We stopped in on a whim after skiing at deer valley and we were so glad we did! The lodge is very cute and cozy. We went during Christmas and they had an awesome gingerbread display. We ate at the lodges bar/restaurant and the food was great! I ordered the tomato soup with a jalapeño jam grilled cheese. So good and had a sweet taste to it! Other family ordered some drinks and the lobster crema, all was amazing and hit the spot! Our waiter was great and the views were nice. Such a great place!

Stein Eriksen was an Olympic skier from Norway, who opened this ski lodge in 1982. This is known as the luxury property that started it all in Park City.

Luxury and elegance amidst the glorious Utah mountaintops. The Stein Erikson Lodge has been a well known resort for years and it is easy to see why; the resort boasts wonderful service, breathtaking views, gorgeous and spacious rooms, and amazing adventures during the summer and winter. My husband and I visited the Stein Erikson during his recent work trip and it was just as wonderful as I remembered it from a decade ago. The resort is set at the base of the mountains that are used for both skiing and mountain biking/ hiking. It is just a hop, skip, and a jump to the ski lift where endless trails and scenes await. The grounds are absolute perfection with colorful flowers in bloom, green grass, wildlife statues and the real deal frolicking about, and mountain decor all around. Each and every turn offers spectacular views that have the ability to take you away from daily stresses and experience the moment and things right in front of you. Dining at the Stein Erikson is top notch. Whether you want a fancy steak or a quick sandwich on the go it's all made with the best ingredients and delicious. I had one of the best cookies I've ever eaten here years ago and coming from my sweet teeth that is saying something! Make no mistake, all food, drink, entertainment, and rooms are pricey...very pricey. Worth it? Yes!! The rooms are beautiful and comfortable; some even have hot tubs and fireplaces (highly recommended). This resort is special; it is one you just want to hang out in and never leave. My husband and I will be back for a longer stay, and someday we hope to bring our kids for some skiing or summer fun!

Beautiful hotel with great meeting space. It is a true Icon ski in and ski out resort with beautiful indoor/outdoor space. The Sunday brunch is AMAZING! We literally rolled out of there!

My absolute favorite place in the world to ski in, ski out. Luxury award winning accommodations are well-deserved. Their ski brunch buffet is my favorite way to start a ski day. The ski concierge people in the locker rooms assist you with your boots and carry your skis out to the snow for you. The hospitality at Steins is unparalleled. We've been coming here for over 20 years. They keep the rooms renovated and updated. The ones we've stayed in have their own balcony hot tubs. I love the Molton brown products. The beds are super comfortable and cozy turndown service with homemade chocolates is just the best touch! Don't miss the award winning and gorgeous spa. The relaxation rooms are beautiful with real fires going, Teas and healthy snacks. The outdoor pool and hot tub is beautifully set with slope views. Then connected to the pool, is a newer arcade area with more relaxed/family friendly food. This is a kid's dream!!!! They also have a movie theater showing different movies a few times a night. Their car service to take you to restaurants in downtown park city is very convenient and comfortable.

Right outside the door of the lodge. Breathtaking backdrop.

The lunch on the terrace was lovely and the food quality both at the restaurant and catering was average. The customer service was very good at check in. So you had better be into "THAT VIBE". The worst first: You can check in, but you can never leave. :-) Watch the fine print. Their reservation is NON-Refundable. Meaning if you stay one night and it's miserable- like for instance, you were looking for water all night because your room is 104 degrees with no air and you are parched and got zero sleep-they aren't going to refund you the other two nights when you check out early. They had the audacity to offer a credit. As if I would EVER come back for another night of HELL? Also, why couldn't we find a water station? I was literally walking around at 2AM looking for a place to fill my water bottle. We just flew in from out of state, Park City is high altitude and the place is a literal inferno. Hello. Two bottles of water in the room isn't going to cut it. HOT & STUFFY They know this is a problem. There is a split A/C unit literally over the bed and a fan mounted next to that! But who wants AC blasting on them? ROOMS ARE CLAUSTROPHOBIC We had the two story suite and the worst night of our lives. The door to the room does not open completely. Same with the closet door which hits the bed. Lame design. That spiral staircase is an accident waiting to happen. Lame design. Tiny bedroom. THE CROWD- not a vibe. I like weird, but this was more like depressing nursing home living room vibe. STUPID SIGNS saying: "we do things different". Yeah, I'll say. I could have stayed at The Montage. CLAUSTROPHOBIA I felt like I was in The Shining or A LAME BED & BREAKFAST. We left before breakfast, but I imagine the whole place would smell like breakfast including you. DESIGN: I knew what I was getting into with the Shabby Chic looking photos online. They showed a bit of restraint, borderline frumpy that fits the bed and breakfast vibes. MANAGER: Thinks he is running the most exclusive, best hotel on earth. Offered us a credit for the two nights we wouldn't be staying after a night of HELL. He just looked at us with an aphasia and utter helplessness. Nothing he could do. Shampoos were toxic. The good: One star for being clean & I liked the implements in the bathroom. One star for effort & the money they spent to try to do something different.
