Our family office meeting Altitude 26 was a real success. The Stein Eriksen Lodge staff is dedicated and professional. They made our experience smooth and very well organized. The lodge was built in the 1980s and offer a warm and welcoming luxurious environment with ski-in and -out option. Unfortunately, the snow was icy and melting, so limited skiing. My lodge room was spacious and well accommodated with incredibly beautiful views of the mountains and an outdoor jacuzzi. I also enjoyed the warmth of the fire place. The design leans towards a more rustic and comfortable decor rather than modern. I was very impressed by the food served during our meetings. The Elk Medallón were absolutely delicious. The breakfast buffet is also special with plenty of choices including fresh omelets and croissants. This is definitely an elegant and sophisticated destination in Deer Valley. This place is very special from a service standpoint it goes beyond all of your friendly expectations. read more

We stopped in on a whim after skiing at deer valley and we were so glad we did! The lodge is very cute and cozy. We went during Christmas and they had an awesome gingerbread display. We ate at the lodges bar/restaurant and the food was great! I ordered the tomato soup with a jalapeño jam grilled cheese. So good and had a sweet taste to it! Other family ordered some drinks and the lobster crema, all was amazing and hit the spot! Our waiter was great and the views were nice. Such a great place! read more

Luxury and elegance amidst the glorious Utah mountaintops. The Stein Erikson Lodge has been a well known resort for years and it is easy to see why; the resort boasts wonderful service, breathtaking views, gorgeous and spacious rooms, and amazing adventures during the summer and winter. My husband and I visited the Stein Erikson during his recent work trip and it was just as wonderful as I remembered it from a decade ago. The resort is set at the base of the mountains that are used for both skiing and mountain biking/ hiking. It is just a hop, skip, and a jump to the ski lift where endless trails and scenes await. The grounds are absolute perfection with colorful flowers in bloom, green grass, wildlife statues and the real deal frolicking about, and mountain decor all around. Each and every turn offers spectacular views that have the ability to take you away from daily stresses and experience the moment and things right in front of you. Dining at the Stein Erikson is top notch. Whether you want a fancy steak or a quick sandwich on the go it's all made with the best ingredients and delicious. I had one of the best cookies I've ever eaten here years ago and coming from my sweet teeth that is saying something! Make no mistake, all food, drink, entertainment, and rooms are pricey...very pricey. Worth it? Yes!! The rooms are beautiful and comfortable; some even have hot tubs and fireplaces (highly recommended). This resort is special; it is one you just want to hang out in and never leave. My husband and I will be back for a longer stay, and someday we hope to bring our kids for some skiing or summer fun! read more

We are in town from California celebrating my sons birthday, and heard amazing things about the restaurant here. The atmosphere was great, the food was good, but the server seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. I feel like we were looked down on, because we were light on what we ordered from our waitress. I think her name was, Cara. We had already had a big lunch earlier, but decided to come up and have a small birthday dinner. Literally every time we said thank you all she replied was, mmhmm. For what they charge I don't feel like it's a lot to ask for some basic courtesy. If it wasn't for her assistant Ceasar's warmth and detail on the dessert, I would have given two stars. read more

Then another waiter from either Russia or Ukraine came by and let's just say they had the friendliness of Vladimir Putin. Ordered a few apps that were cold and inedible. My absolute favorite place in the world to ski in, ski out. Luxury award winning accommodations are well-deserved. Their ski brunch buffet is my favorite way to start a ski day. The ski concierge people in the locker rooms assist you with your boots and carry your skis out to the snow for you. The hospitality at Steins is unparalleled. We've been coming here for over 20 years. They keep the rooms renovated and updated. The ones we've stayed in have their own balcony hot tubs. I love the Molton brown products. The beds are super comfortable and cozy turndown service with homemade chocolates is just the best touch! Don't miss the award winning and gorgeous spa. The relaxation rooms are beautiful with real fires going, Teas and healthy snacks. The outdoor pool and hot tub is beautifully set with slope views. Then connected to the pool, is a newer arcade area with more relaxed/family friendly food. This is a kid's dream!!!! They also have a movie theater showing different movies a few times a night. Their car service to take you to restaurants in downtown park city is very convenient and comfortable. read more

This place was amazing! We didn't stay here, but utilized it for our wedding photos and the spa for services prior to and it was perfect! We scheduled a hair appointment and my mom got her nails done prior to the wedding on the sleigh rides that happen. While my hair appointment was very over priced, it is the stein and we expected it. It was definitely something I could have done on my own... but it was nice to be pampered! The spa ladies were so kind and kept my dress and flowers in their office and checked on us throughout our stay. The decorations in the lobby for Christmas were AMAZING. And we had a blast utilizing the Stein! The pictures turned out phenomenal on the back patio with the slopes in the background, and the fact the sleigh rides pull right up to the door made this incredible. read more

This was one of the most beautiful places I've stayed. The rooms were large, many with fireplaces, huge bathrooms and large soaker tubs, heated bathroom floors and some with hot tubs. The decor was mountain modern. The staff was kind and helpful. My co-worker got a large suite room with a full kitchen, live wood fireplace and patio with hot tub, gas fireplace in the bedroom. The amenities were amazing and the SPA!!!!! The spa deserves 6 stars. The female locker room had its own steam room, sauna, hot tub and cold plunge. Plentiful showers and vanities for post treatment freshen up. The relaxation room ambiance was phenomenal with hot tea, cold water and nuts/ craisins. Small outdoor patio with loungers to enjoy the view. My 60 minute massage was heaven. Ame had the softest and most wonderful hands. I can't recommend the spa enough. Must see. read more

Good and very bad. Having stayed at some of the top hotels and resorts around the world; Stein does some things very well. And has some gaping deficiencies and need for self reflection. The good: The bell staff and front desk was fantastic from arrival to departure (minus an incident to be detailed below). The food and staff at breakfast were also fantastic. The spa was top notch, and the pools/hot tubs as well. The rooms: The housekeeping, bath products, and daily amenities were high end. The rooms clean and nicely appointed. The large updated bathrooms are great. Issues: The room temperature was a constant issue, as the AC unit struggled to adequately cool the room or keep it at a regular temperature. This is something a hotel of this caliber should have invested in. The patio rooms with hot tubs are lovely, however certain rooms have significant road noise with gravel trucks roaring by early in the AM. At the St. Regis and Montage, S'mores is well done. Here, they provided a nice kit.. but you had to hike a mile through the garage to two outdoor fire pits that were not lit when we got there. Didn't have the same effect as the other hotels. **** Finally... here was the major blunder and the ensuing response that has me leaving a poor rating. The valet accidentally gave our rental car to another couple, by failing to verify ownership. This negligence resulted in our car being in unauthorized hands for two hours. When we realized the mistake.. we notified the hotel and they were quick to send a team to recover our stolen vehicle. However, this is where the hospitality ended. My follow up emails to the hotel manager Colin, were ignored. And adequate compensation (in my opinion) for such a major mistake was not given. ($280 off a 4K stay). No follow up apology either. Thats very shockingly poor management, especially for such an "esteemed" property. Its responses like that that will have me staying at a different property in the future. Even though much of our stay was enjoyable. read more

Finally I came here for lunch buffet that my friend had been talking about. First of all it's in the deer valley, I only snowboard so I had to drive here which is ok. For $48/person, you get coffee tea or juice, crab legs and other shell fish, salad, they had the lox but we had to order bagels for an extra charge, risotto station was pretty cool and it was good, and they had a bunch of dessert bites, we were very stuffed. It's not the best buffet but it's the best buffet for the price for sure! I will definitely go back! read more

Treated myself to one night and it was so hard to leave. Tyler was very welcoming when I pulled up, helped me get checked in, and escorted me to my room for the night. He provided some great suggestions for the lodge as well as things in the area. The rooms are beautiful. I spent my morning at the Spa enjoying the amenities and then received a hot stone massage. The food was delicious both at Troll Hallen and Champions Club. Staff at both restaurants were friendly and accommodating. Everything about this place is amazing and the entire property is gorgeous. I'm so glad I randomly stumbled upon this place online. I look forward to being able to come back in the future. read more

Had an amazing and quite memorable stay at the Stein Eriksen Lodge. Recently attended a week long conference here at their event space as well as stayed at the lodge itself. Can't recall if room was a suite or a luxury room, but it was truly amazing! Rustic but didn't feel outdated. Clean and comfortable and quite large. Bathroom was large with separate soaking tub and dual vanity sinks. Plenty of closet space too. Plenty of soft towels and comfy robe. Kitchenette area was super convenient and clean. Private deck off bedroom was huge and had incredible stunning mountain views and convenient to the larger shared outdoor space. The events spaces were also well planned out and comfortable. Seating and anticipated AV needs was especially well planned. Staff was great Despite being there for a very large conference. lodge staff were all very nice and accommodating. The conference had several celebrity guest speakers so often seating was at full capacity, yet lodge ensured wherever an attendee sat, they had full view of the stage whether sitting close up or in the nose bleed back seats. Lots of streaming screens of various sizes setup throughout event space so nothing was missed. Event space was even setup to handle live animal presentations. I really thought that was great! Lots of cute trails here too. Great surrounding restaurants and activities as well. Attaching pictures though it doesn't do it justice. Will definitely be back to the lodge for personal enjoyment next time! read more

I've lived in Utah my entire life, and skied at Deer Valley my entire life, but I've never stayed at Stein's. So I decided it was time to try it out. It was the last weekend that steins was open before they close for a "spring cleaning" for a few weeks. I say that because even though it was their last few days before a break, I was still blown away with how well the staff treated me and their amazing attention to detail. The room I had was absolutely gorgeous and spotlessly clean. Seriously, probably the nicest hotel room I've ever stayed it. Plenty of space but still cozy. The wood burning fireplace was an amazing touch. Nothing like a crackling fire while staring out at the groomers doing their work to make the mountain amazing. When I showed up to my room there was a tray of cookies and cold milk waiting for me. Every time they came by the room to cleanup or asking for turndown service they brought water bottles and chocolates. I absolutely loved the private hot tub too. They keep it at the perfect 104 degrees, which is perfect for hot tubing. We also had the breakfast buffet both mornings. Great selection of breakfast items in a gorgeous location. The trollhalen lounge is amazing. If you're looking for a true ski lodge experience I would highly recommend staying at Stein's. read more

This is truly one of our favorite places to ski in the valley, and the Skier Lunch is the best. My husband always make a point to come in at least once a season, and enjoy the buffet of seafood and delectable desserts. Our most recent trip we had a delicious Cafe Latte and chocolate mousse that had us feeling like we were back in Zermatt, Switzerland! Attached is a screenshot of my view for the last 2 days on my 18th Anniversary. We stayed at the hotel several years ago and had nothing but great memories of the beautiful location, lodge and how we were treated. We were excited to come back. For almost $1,000 for 2 nights, I can't express how disappointed I was in my stay. I was told this was a "courtyard view" only to be looking directly into a stone planter with absolutely no view and a feeling of staying in a dimly lit basement. I wouldn't spend $100/night for this let alone $300+ per night. The staff seemed to try and remedy the situation but was unable to find another room. The most disappointing part of all of this was when I asked if I could cancel Saturday night -- I called at 10:00am Saturday morning -- only to be told that I couldn't because of the "cancelation policy". I'm shocked that a 5 star resort cares more about the cancelation policy than the satisfaction of its customers. I'm not sure why I'm writing this, and more than anything, i'm just getting some frustration off my chest. If anything, hopefully this helps the hotel become more mindful of other guests that can't afford to throw away $1,000 on hotel rooms that are inferior to 3.5-star hotels that have more to offer. read more
