I've never really been inspired by a business to write a Yelp review before, so don't be put off by…read morethe "First Time Reviewer" label Yelp will probably give me. RentJiffy is an absolute godsend to a DC property owner looking to become a landlord. Before I discovered them, I fumbled through disorganized pages of the DC government website, phone calls with DC government employees, just to figure out what exactly I needed to do to become compliant. Like other reviewers have stated, it's almost as if they don't want you to be legal by subjecting you to all these layers of mind-numbing bureaucracy, just so they can hit you with (more lucrative) fines later. It was a huge waste of time, and it would've been an even bigger waste of time had I continued down the path of trying to do it all myself. RentJiffy, fortunately, has this all down to a science. Their website is very straightforward to use. Just fill out some basic questions, and at the end of the process, all the necessary forms will be filled out and submit electronically. Plus, the price, which includes the filing costs to DC, makes it a complete no-brainer. The real star of the business is not the website, but rather the owner of the business, Jonathan. He's a real estate professional who clearly has extensive experience in navigating the murky waters that are DC rental compliance. A quick phone call with him completely eased all my anxieties relating to what turned out to be a pretty simple process. Just a couple short weeks later, I had my license delivered to my email box. I have no idea how long it would've taken if I tried to do it on my own, but thankfully, I didn't have to find out.

I needed help with my rent registration for a single family rental home that I own in DC. I paid…read more$99.00 to Rent Jiffy last August to guide me through it. I got no service for weeks. Then Jonathan sent an email apologizing and luckily there was an extension to the due date. I paid another $99.00 which Jonathan eventually said I would get back after more delays and lack of communication. I finally started the whole process over myself with the DC government, which was also VERY SLOW, but I was able to get my certificate finally in February, 2026. I got no money back from Rent Jiffy. This was a total nightmare for me because I was trying to get help to do it correctly and could not get anything done.

I saw that he commented that I was a "non-client". That's not entirely true. We'd had a good amount…read moreof communication. I had already paid him, but he became so disrespectful that I requested a refund before he started filing the trademark. I usually don't request any accommodations because people are very rude and sometimes even become abusive. If you and the people in the office, truly had experience with people with "my issues" as you said in your comment , then you'd be completely understanding of why I wouldn't say anything. The truth is you aren't good with people, but you're great at avoiding liability. Yes, the problems began when I had questions about the letter of engagement, and I could not reach anyone and you acted like I was a bother. That's the issue.

He was not only late to the tele-appointment, but also immediately rude and combative. We simply looked to file a trademark to protect our brand name / logo based on advice from the article he wrote. I asked which trademark type we needed to file to get that done so we could get the process started, and he acted as if it was the most bizarre call of his life. News flash: if I knew exactly the back end of the trademarking process, I wouldn't be calling you in the first place, I'd just be doing it myself... A very strange experience that has successfully wasted my time. **EDIT TO REPLY** 1) You actually very explicitly said in an annoyed tone "this is a call to file a trademark with the govt, not a call to just answer your questions" as the first thing you said after stating your who you were. Then when I told you what I wanted to accomplish you replied by repeating "Why... Why... Why..." in a disinterested tone. If your goal is to start a conversation I highly recommend you alter this terrible opener. 2) I did not swear, I simply called you incompetent.
