I called this office to see if they get involved with cases that has to do with the residential building's (in Arlington where I own a couple of units) general management and the board president who are not taking the proper and timely actions according to the bylaws of the building (should be a non-smoking building) and if they are knowledgeable about the HOA roles and responsibilities. I needed some counseling and sending a few letters out to start with. I connected with them after a day which is ok, but I had a paralegal on the phone asking questions and every time I asked a question or responded she had to put me on hold and check with the attorney, I guess! Terrible sound quality (speaker phone or headset) and lots of background noise! When I asked to speak to the attorney (whom I had originally called for), she said I had to speak with her. I spoke with him last year for a free consultation when I was dealing with a bank that refused to reimburse me after the bank honored a check I wrote that was stolen from the mail and fraudulently altered. The bank claimed I was liable because I did not detect the fraud within 60 days, which is in the bank's terms of service. Steven advised me VA law places a two year statute of limitations on fraud. After our conversation I was able to successfully get the bank to reverse its decision after several months of arguing with them. I'm a small business (me). I had a contract with a multi-billion dollar company for a keynote engagement, which they canceled and refused to honor the terms of the contract. Overall just terrible. My first case was dismissed because the lawyer representing him didn't hear the case be called (was told I didn't need to show up). For the whole weekend and some change we waited to find out the result of our case. Call after call nothing. THEY DO NOT GET BACK TO YOU! If they do it's through email. Which happened and he informed us that would have to set another trail date. Stated he wouldn't charge us again...? Like what? You have no right to charge us another amount when you messed up! This was to evict a person from a condo. So months after months and weeks after weeks we danced around dates and stuff and out of the pocket of thousands in rent because it took so long. We thought we would see the end. We had a court date for a Friday and was informed we needed to pay another 1500.....uhhhh what?! I would never recommend this law firm. Never ever EVER!!! Also at the end of everything we haven't heard anything from him and nothing about providing papers on what was filed. Nothing. A complete joke!!! We were not informed about ANYTHING! You will never reach him! We had to chase something around that was harder to find than the elusive lochness monster! Terrible! Do NOT RECOMMEND! Update: You don't play stupid! You know what case this is cause you contacted my husband to arrange some type of conversation. Reason we even cared to waste more time to post something is because you lacked even after the case was done to even contact us or give us any type of paper work! His team responded quickly, and after paying a $100 consult fee for a 15-minute phone conversation, Steven contacted me immediately to set up a time to chat. Because my schedule didn't permit me to talk until later that evening, we ended up speaking around 9:30pm, which I really appreciated.
