If you're looking for a great Preschool for your little ones, you found it!!!! I switched to Grace Academy and I was so amazed and appreciative of how much this team cares and takes care of the littles ones. They do activities daily and We share tons of pictures and updates throughout the day. They also provide good healthy food. The teachers are so cute with the kids, and all my 3 kids loves going to "school" everyday. I know they were in good hands. Because of the amazing curriculum at Grace, my oldest is now in the gate program, and they other 2 are ahead of thier class. Thank you to the entire Grace Academy team for your hard work and for creating an awesome place for the kids.

Our 3 year old has been attending Grace Academy for almost a year so we have a good sense of what it's like. I scoured reviews just like you probably are doing now. If you're anything like me you probably go straight for the heart- right to the 1 star reviews to see if I could use my deductive reasoning to decipher if it was an overreactive/ expectant parent complaining about minor issues. While a lot of the reviews from other schools (not here) seemed like overreactions, some of them were shocking like allowing random people not on approved lists to pick kids up, unsanitary conditions, too many kids-to-teacher ratio leading to kids coming home injured frequently, the list went on. I was suspect of every school and I was afraid we wouldn't find a match. We walked out early from three prior tours with other facilities because we instantly knew it just wasn't for us. The first place was dirty upon arrival, alarmingly disorganized, visibly dusty & the classroom felt like a dungeon. The second place had a shocking amount of children (they were approved for a 24 to 1 ratio) (*WHAT*?) The 3rd place did not allow parents to view the classroom or enter the indoor facility at any time. We scratched our heads and just couldn't bring ourselves to trust them. When we found Grace Academy, it was like something clicked. It was so good that the day we toured I said we wanted to sign up right then and there. You could instantly feel the sense of family. The kids are welcomed but families were, too. It has open concept "rooms" ie partitioned in an open space so everyone can see out (and parents can see in). It's clearly designed by purpose for transparency. You are welcome to observe whenever you like but they of course advise us to allow the kids to find their rhythm without you hovering. After seeing the excitement of the first day run through our daughter, we never felt the need to come back to observe. But the choice is still yours. The first day we left her tiny eyes welled up with tears when we told her we were leaving. She tried not to cry but covered her face doing her best to keep the tears in. Her teacher gave us a big thumbs up of approval that it was going to be ok. However, this whole encounter made me tear up as soon as I stepped outside. We sat in the car for a few minutes wondering if we just leave or hang out. A few moments later I burst into tears in the passenger seat of our car- strangely annoyed at myself that I was "that parent" crying over a very normal and healthy life milestone. What if she was scared, what if she wasn't being comforted? What if she wanted to come home? But the next move changed it all. We received a picture and message from her teacher. "All good here mom and dad!" She was smiling holding hands with another little girl playing knee deep in toys. That was the first and last time any tears were "almost" shed. When we picked her up she screamed "I LOVE SCHOOL!" Pros: They use an app to send pictures and videos of your kiddo each day. It is the highlight of our day when we get updates of what they are working on. Very organized. They provide the daily schedule in advance and each child has a cubby under their space that is yours to take home- usually dry artwork/crafts. They do super cute activities and our daughter loves telling us about it. Daily snacks are provided and the monthly calendar lists what will be available each day. Clean facilities: because it's an open concept preschool there's no room for disorganization or dirty areas. It's always well maintained and you can tell they take great pride in their space. The teachers/aides/staff clearly love what they do. The kids are greeted with hugs, smiles and excited high fives. We feel free to ask any and all questions. Any "unscheduled progress reports" ie "how has she been doing today/this week?" are detailed, thorough, thoughtful, honest and we never feel like they are annoyed when we ask. Student led creativity: at the beginning of the day kids pick what interests them throughout the day. This sense of "control" allows them to choose what they want to participate in. Plenty of skills from counting, to manners, to emotions, fine motor skills, patience and sharing, following directions- they direct learning through hands-on play and lots of physical activity. Our 3 year old is the best kind of tired when she gets home. Win win for parents. Yet, structure amidst a Montessori approach. There still are turn taking opportunities, circle time, sharing, listening and following directions. School events: they meticulously design how events look from balloon arches to super cute backdrops, & there usually are activities and food (sometimes vendors for purchase for fundraising) and sometimes free. Cons: We haven't found anything since we've started last year but will let you know if that changes. We do wish there was a summer program but this isn't a con.

This is by far the best preschool in town!! I visited multiple possibilities for my child and for someone who is a helicopter parent I was terrified of my child's reaction to a completely new environment with new adults and kids being that she is an only child and had always been under the protective watch of either me or dad. The first day we visited she let go of my hand she began to explore all on her own she immediately felt comfortable in her surroundings as did I. The best part is they teach Christian values as well something that I hadn't started doing yet myself, my child reaches for her Bible on her own, at home, and tells us about it without even being prompted. She adores her teachers which show her an equal amount of discipline and love and have shaped my child into a very outspoken and confident person!! This place is worth every cent!!

But I feel compelled to leave it because it was such an awful experience for my daughter. I contacted you guys because she was sexually assaulted and had to go through the court system. I called the Haven in advance to tell them about the court date because I knew we would need support based on the circumstances and the offenders very large unruly family. They told me that we would have someone with us through the court proceeding for support . No one from the women's Haven showed or made any attempt to help my daughter. We were told someone would be there. They said to meet them in a specific area in the courthouse. I called while I was standing there waiting and the lady said oh OK I'm on my way. I waited and waited until we had to go into court. They never showed or called. We were completely on our own in every way no support was offered or given. The ADA had a loud and humiliating conversation with my daughter in a whole corridor, full of people. (Maybe a trained liaison could have been able to maneuver this better for her?) The perpetrators family heckled us in court. I had to ask the bailiff for help. If Haven would've just told me that no one was available to go I would've worked to make another arrangement at least. I feel like with her being a minor and me being alone in this town without support, really made us the prime example of the need of what the women's Haven is supposed to be, at that time in our lives. Never any counseling or support group, or even a pamphlet offered ever at any time.

Because in the end, I told Hope Chest to just forget it! They obviously didn't want my donation. Well, today I called ahead of time and the person I talked to said, "Make sure you don't have a truck load of donations right before closing!" She didn't say anything about them not accepting toys of any kind. I would not have wasted a trip. I also agree with some of the other posts, their prices are pretty high for a thrift store. Yes, sometimes the manager will work with you. But I don't like to haggle. I would rather just see a good/fair price, pick it up and take it home. I also wish they would have student/teacher discount day like some of the other thrift stores have. It would be nice. :)

They e even made post about dogs being unhealthy because they've stayed at their facility for so long. However, they make so many restrictions for even adopting from them. I tried to adopt from them and even though I had grown up with the same breed of dog in my home I was told I couldn't adopt one of their dogs because I was a teena and not my parent. I wasn't an adult and that the dog required so much knowledge that they claimed I didn't have. But how could that be when I literally explained my knowledge of the breed. I ended up purchasing my baby from a breeder, but it's unfortunate they don't want to encourage rescuing. I understand vetting people to make sure animals go to a good home. But they should be less restrictive when it comes to letting people adopt. If I'm already paying $400+ to adopt I'm not in it to be a harmful owner. People don't have money to waste. perhaps then they would have money to run their facility instead of constantly begging. I even see they have so many requirements to foster. You either need help or don't. They made a post about a dog that was severely overweight because it's locked in a cage for multiple hours a day. How could they even let that happen. Smh. They have xoloitzuintli at their place right now and I bet they have received a lot of interest In him but I bet they wont let him be adopted
