Or during human designed stringent restrictions of personal faith and choices. I'm a believer in the rules of God and not so often the rules of man. I'm a believer in the rights of the choices a woman makes a bout her own physical body. Men have should no choices about a woman's health choices. It's between a woman and her relationship with God. There are things evangelicals need to keep their nose out of. PERIOD. A few weeks ago a close friend of mine, who is a pretty good Christian and Catholic passed away. He voice and opinion of freedom of choice was brought out in the press. Being one of Hollywood Elite a big todo was made about his quite opinion. A Parishioner who really knows either of us felt it was his duty to publicly condemn us. For quite awhile I stopped attending St. Joseph's in Mariposa to avoid a loud conflict on this persons' loud public opinions. 2 weeks ago I found out my closest friend has passed and being this after mass is was devastated. Being my friend it too came out some how about how he died and in the ancient Catholic Church that's a no/no. Well screw that. I'm going to be there to celebrate a persons passing not dwell upon death. Christmas is about celebrating life and if the small group of parishioners can't understand the meaning of Christmas than the should go stuff their stockings snd go to hell.

I liked his homily when he said even something like the granite cliffs that look timeless will pass away, but the word of God and our faith will stand the test of time. And he had good jokes too. Unfortunately, our experience with the wedding coordinator, Monica, created unnecessary stress during what should have been a joyful occasion. At the rehearsal, our group was left waiting outside the church with the doors locked and no communication regarding when we could enter. Monica unlocked the door and left us standing outside. Throughout the rehearsal, questions were frequently interrupted before they could be asked, and interactions often felt abrupt and dismissive rather than welcoming or helpful. We were often told to wait because information would be provided later, but the manner in which this was communicated came across as impatient and unnecessarily curt. The wedding day was no better. Guests and family members were repeatedly rushed into their seats and instructed not to stop to greet, hug, or interact with loved ones as they entered the church. At one point, Monica shushed guests in a manner that felt more appropriate for disciplining children than speaking to adults. Going as far as using the church microphone to carry out her orders. Monica's overall tone and interactions felt cold, unfriendly, and lacking in basic courtesy. Monica contacted the bride by phone and threatened to shorten the ceremony if the she did not arrive immediately. While I understand the importance of maintaining a schedule, this approach felt unnecessarily harsh and added stress to an already emotional moment. What made the experience especially disappointing was that this is a church. Weddings are meaningful family events, and the atmosphere should reflect hospitality, kindness, and grace. Instead, many interactions left family members feeling like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. The cathedral itself is beautiful, and the ceremony was meaningful. However, the wedding coordination experience significantly detracted from what should have been a joyful and memorable day. If this is the type of experience you want than this is the church for you.
