I dropped several bass clarinets off to Star on December 5th, 2025. At the time, the tech was not…read moreavailable, and I was not quoted a price or a timeframe, but left them there knowing it would be a while before I got the instruments. On December 12th, I called Star and asked for an update, and I was told the tech would start on it in January as they have a large school instrument backlog and was quoted a price. On January 12th, I called and asked for an update and they told me it would be 2 weeks, as they still have a large school instrument backlog. Today, January 26th, two weeks later, I called twice. At 1pm when I called, they said they had no info and would call the tech for me and call me back. At 5:14pm, I called again as they had not returned my call, and they said it would be another two weeks before they would even start on my instrument, still citing a large backlog, saying that there were 10 instruments in front of mine. At this point it has been too long, and I am ready to pick up my instrument and take it somewhere else, so I offer to head down there before they close, only to be told I can't pick it up today, because my instruments are at their shop. So I offer to just drive over to their shop instead to save them the trip, and they say that I cannot go to their shop, without providing a reason why. I would not recommend that anyone go to star music to get their own personal instruments repaired, they clearly do not have the staffing nor the organizational skills to handle their business, and they get defensive and rude when you call them out for poor business practices. I simply do not trust a business that has a backlog of school instruments after the school year is a month in. They either need to hire more people, or stop accepting such a high volume of repair work, it is simply unacceptable that a customer should have to wait almost two months with no proactive communication from Star. I've tried multiple technicians in the area and have found that only Pecknel music in Greeneville is capable of delivering timely, quality work with an accurate upfront quoted price. I have never had any of my instruments take longer than two weeks at Pecknel. I hope not to have to deal with Star Music ever again

I requested a moving company to move me from a 1 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor to a house. The…read moretime for arrival was between 10-10:30 AM EST, they arrived at 9:57 AM. I never had any service where the movers arrived early. That automatically rated high in my books. Upon arrival, the leader introduced himself, asked if I could show him the apartment ( I guess to see all what I had) then said if I had in questions or concerns to let him know. He gave the crew instructions and they got to work. Thinking the job would take 2-3 hours because I lived on the 3rd floor, to my surprise (#2) they were done in 1 hour and 30 minutes (yes I timed them). During the loading, the movers would stop to see if I'm ok, hold small talk but they had a method and I liked that. No scratches to my wall or furniture as they were careful with my items. The items I didn't not want, the men carried them downstairs so I could trash them... imagine trying to throw things away and living on the 3rd floor. Trust me I was thankful. At my destination, I met the owner Tim. He was very professional during the conversation. The unpacking of the truck was even easier, as it took them 45 minutes and they were done. I couldn't believe it. I can't say enough of how these movers were the best I've had. I will definitely use them in the future. Thank you for treating my items as if it was your own.

My son was on a 4th floor apartment the furthest you could be from any door with a move to another apartment complex. I closed my apple watch steps and workout ring more than TWICE today if that gives you any idea... Jordan, Pierce and Kyle have to be the hardest working AND the darn nicest movers in the entire universe. Not one thing was broken, not one wall or piece of furniture was scratched. And they were so kind and cheerful- like how in the tarnation could anyone be so polite and happy while lifting heavy yhings in sweltering Columbia heat all freaking day?? And yet- they absolutely were. We ended up hiring these guys after our original move in date was botched and it was honestly a blessing in disguise. If you need anything moved- call them. We spent the evening cleaning and unpacking and I wished I could have kept those boys with us. They are THAT good! They lost all the pieces to my 3 dresser mirrors, they had them mixed up with the wrong dressers and time was ticking. They left some furniture peices at the loading address so they couldn't install 1 set. They were nice young men but they did not have the strength to take some of my furniture upstairs.They really struggled. When reinstalling some of the furniture pieces, they were confused on how to put them back together. I called the manager and told him my concerns that these guys may need one other person. But he said he would have to charge me, instead of just satisfying the customer. It got very frustrating for me as a customer. I will never hire these guys again!
