We took the Platinum tour, which I think is worth it. We saw Graceland of course, the car museum, the army service museum, the planes, and the little museum with the movies he was in. Graceland is really the best part, and there's a lot there. I didn't realize how many gold records the guy actually had. The audio tour was informative, and helps as you are herded like sheep with all the other people in attendance. As others have said, you can't go upstairs, which includes the bathroom where he died, from 20 prescription medications!!! The Morphine, Demerol, and antihistamines would be enough to kill other mortals. The coroner's report also listed some substances as "unidentified." Okay. Of course, considering that nobody can go upstairs, including staff, or anyone else, maybe that's where he is living, off all the revenue from these tours. He's just sitting up there meditating and laughing his ass off at all the people shuffling through the house. Seriously. read more

Loved it! Just wish I would have taken my time in the tour, but between trying to listen to the audio headphones, interact with the ipad, and not hold up the line, I felt rushed and totally forgot to take pictures inside. I would like to do the tour of the house again and take my time and soak it all in, rather than zip through it in 10 minutes while juggling the ipad and headphones they give you. So, I had guests for the weekend and they wanted to go to Graceland! I was skeptical but I am glad I went. It was over 100 degrees outside so we decided to spend the $70 per ticket for the VIP tour to avoid the lines. The $35 ticket still requires you to stand in line and the tour is guided....shuttled pretty quickly through everything. I was happy I spent the extra money so I could tour at my own pace. We ended up spending about 3 hours overall. Very "touristy" and highly commercialized (Lisa Marie and Priscilla knew what they were doing!) but I still found it fascinating. An intimate look into the life of a complicated person..You can only tour the first floor of the home - the bedroom and upstairs is off limits...but it's a "moment in time" that touched generations. You'll probably think the same thing I did (My house is prettier than this!) but it's the 1970's! Loved the up front view of the stage costumes...and loved discovering just how generous Elvis was (actual copies of his checks to charities). Interesting that he spent $200,000 on his racquet ball center and then had trailer houses brought to the property as the "guest houses".... A simple man with a big heart who was a simply incredible, enigmatic, charismatic entertainer! read more

Too expensive and you don't get to tour the entire mansion (yep, that's right, they don't tell you that at the ticket counter). So, if you wanted to see his boudoir or the bathroom where he died, you will be disappointed. The house is interesting, but shockingly small. I personally don't care about all of the bill statements on display regarding house construction projects. After all, wasn't Elvis known for his music and not construction? The cars, planes, and jumpsuits are across the street from the mansion and the staff don't tell you where to find them, nor is it marked. Well, except for the planes, they are in plain sight. The cute Graceland photo will be waiting for you too already packaged for $35.00. The planes are interesting, but there's plastic everywhere, so your allowed pictures will have a nice shiny glare. I don't know why the plane bathrooms are blocked off? If you want a wonderful historic museum to see, go to the National Civil Rights Museum instead. And, it's 1/4 of the price. Expeeeennnnsiiive. We knew the tour cost more than we cared to pay ($32), but we paid the $10 parking hoping to at least be able to get close to the house for a picture - nope. You had to be a ticket holder to ride a bus across the street to the mansion. We could have seen more for free if we'd just parked on the side of the street instead. read more

Had a great visit. Did the plane, house and auto tour. Great time. Elvis Died when I was a kid, but I remember how much my parents and grand parents loved this guy and his music. Learned a lot about his philanthropy and music that I never knew. Lisa Marie plane was phenomenal... the smaller one, was just a normal plane. House and property was very nice. Like others mentioned , use the AAA card if you have one. Depending on crowd, may be able to take the place tour or car tour prior to going over to the house for the home tour. this is a review just for the view from the road. yes, we were on the road till dinner time, so we missed getting into the mansion itself. but we get parking right in front of the wall / gates so we could get out, stretch our legs, take pictures of the house from the outside and see all the names of people that signed the wall. it's pretty cool. i'd like to come back some time in the day time to actually see the inside of this massive house and see the gardens. the house is very pretty all lit up at night though, so i'm glad we got to see that. it's worth seeing if you're in the area. read more

To be in that time and to go through what famous people go through no one knows but them so my hats off to Elvis he left too early for the world. I thought the whole deal was really moving and cool to see what a man from as humble of a beginning as he had with all the resources in the world at his disposal he kept it real the house wasn't anymore than it should have been today's world is out of control and everyone seems to be proving who has the most... Paid $10 for parking only to find there is a 2 hour delay on the mansion tour. We were on a schedule and could not wait around. I was not from the generation of Elvis, but wanted to take my sister and mother there. I was so impressed by the mansion and all the memorabilla, pictures, records, awards, Elvis costumes etc etc. I hope to go with my husband someday since there are more rooms to go through. There is so much history and actually like Elvis songs now. It is so strange to see Elvis's grave along with his family in the backyard. I highly recommend this if you are near Memphis. read more

95% of the staff should be fired or at the very least taught the basics of how a little bit of Kindness goes a long ways. Aside from this and the fact that they charge for parking I loved everything about my visit here. I have always been an Elvis fan and was privileged to see him perform in Tahoe in 1976. For me to come here was very special. I was asked what was my most favorite thing here and honestly I can't name just one. I am thankful to have walked and experienced in depth more about the man Elvis who he was aside frome the limelight. It saddens me still to this day that he died the way he died at such a young age with so much God given tallent. It is hard to believe one can accomplish as much as he did during his short stay on this earth. If you have never been here it is definitely a must. read more

First, I booked online - saves the wait in line when you get there as you get the Will Call line. We liked Graceland. I would call us casual fans. To me, besides being Elvis' home, what makes it unique from touring most historical homes is that it is a snapshot in time from the 70s. Anyone born before 1970 will recognize some decorating techniques - mustard yellow refrigerator, carpet on the walls (we had this in our rec room in the 70s! I'd forgotten.) I agree with some other reviewers - you can't see the upstairs "out of respect", but you can walk right up to his grave. There are literally gift shops for every phase of his life, though I'm not sure selling Elvis boxers and Elvis tights and Elvis Mr. Potatoheads fits in with my idea of respect. After the tour, I checked the website and it does mention they would have to significantly alter the home to tour the upstairs - adding another set of stairs as an exit, for example. As the house is on the National Register of Historic Places, I can understand that reasoning. Since they have so much information on the audio tour, a little more explanation about the reasons for not going upstairs wouldn't cost them anything to add. We chose the VIP tour - it basically lets you go to the front of the line and get your own shuttle bus with other VIP guests. You also get to see a room dedicated to Lisa Marie - as a parent I appreciated it as there were home movies of them as a family, her crib and nursery items, family photos, etc. It lets you see the paternal side of Elvis in depth. Overall, a nice tour (disclaimer - I found this review in my Unfinished Reviews - we visited in August 2013). read more

Over priced, for sure. But it's the home of Elvis, so they can do what they want. Definitely go, I mean... It's Elvis! But a few tips, be prepared for a long wait in the heat. You would think as much money as they charge, they could install some fans in the waiting area. But I digress... If you are a germ-o-phobe like me, bring your own earphones for the iPad guided audio tour. We added on the additional auto museum as well. If your a car lover, it's worth it to see the old Rolls-Royces and pink Cadillac. It was only $5 extra (and if you have AAA, they do a discount. It was $1 cheaper than the basic mansion tour with our discount. If you are a teacher, bring your id, they offer a teacher discount as well). OH! And parking is $10. SMH read more

it was worth the extra money to see the planes, cars, etc. I would like to say first. Secondly, since we were from out of town, it made the whole experience cheaper than it would have been otherwise to stay in the cabins there. Now, as far as the house itself goes, it was really pretty cool. I am not a huge huge Elvis fan, but it was pretty cool to see ANY house from the rich and famous of that era perfectly preserved. It was also really impressive to see all the #1 records Elvis had. Trust me, it's way more than you think it is. All in all, I'm not sure I would go back, as it is fairly expensive to take the whole family, but it is definitely worth the $ to have gone and seen something so (pop-)culturally relevant. read more

If you are on a pilgrimage go. If you are are willing to spend about $30 on admission (plus $10 on parking) you'll enjoy the 45 minute or so walk through the life of an American icon. However, this is a tour guided by headphones where you are more or less herded along, from room to room, building to building. I can't say I didn't not like the visit -it was worth the time. But it is difficult to say it was worth the money. When it comes to Elvis stories and some memorabilia, Sun Studios is more fun (they have his original high school diploma..) read more

Good especially if you are over 65 years old. Well run. However, $40ish for Platinum including bus is way too much unless of course you are 65+ years old. Very air conditioned throughout. Best tip is to google ' half off Graceland' and unless its Elvis bday, death or public holiday you will find a half off - don't stop at $4 or aaa. Graceland was a very pleasant surprise. Everything went well with attentive and well informed staff. You tour every part of the first floor and basement. Everything is original and presented well. Unless you are a die hard Elvis Presley fan / nut this is a very expensive tourist trap. $30+ per person to see the house, that will take all of 15 minutes. It is way over commercialized with 80% of the space for the entire thing is for saling Elvis trinkets. Adding insult to injury parking is $10 on top of the inflated price. To see the cars or airplanes is a higher cost which I didnt pay. Save the money, go see Sun Studio, much better on many levels, and way way cheaper. Bottom line, no value for price paid. Sole purpose seems to sale Elvis labled stuff. Highly recommend a NOT SEE. Sun Studio is a fraction of the cost, parking is free, and way more meaningful and enjoyable. read more

Every Elvis fan needs to come to Graceland. I went on a Sunday and got the VIP ticket. Got there around 9:45am. If you're going on the weekend at least I would recommend going right at opening later on in the day when we went back for a 2nd tour (with the vip ticket you get to go throught the mansion as many times as you'd like) it was crazy inside you could hardly even move. By 2:30 there hardly were any people on the property. There is a lot to do, we were there for 5 hours. The positives for the VIP ticket is you get to go with just "VIP" people so your group is usually 5-10 people I think on my shuttle/group there were 10 of us. You get to see a "extra room" which is Lisa Marie's exhibit. Other than that there's not much more. the 'elvis on tour' and 'elvis 68 special' exhibit is a waste of time. It's inside one of the stores and isnt made for as many people that are trying to watch it. We bought the pictures they take of you before the tour and got a extra keychain I would not recommend doing the keychain. the picture falls out all the time and there's not even a back like most picture keychains have that says "graceland' or anything. basically you can buy one at the 99cent store. Also the folder they give you to display the picture in is also a waste. the picture doesnt even fit in it. I've read a lot of people say not to get the VIP ticket but if I were to go again I would get the VIP over and over. The mansion is amazing as many people have said. read more

This place is a bit pricey if your not a big Elvis fan. Elvis was a bit before my time, but who doesnt like Elvis?? So while in Memphis I thought I would go to graceland. Parking was $10, which seemed a bit much. I figured why not though. We got inside and the tours are $30 and up depending on which area you want to see. So we passed. I mean like I said, Elvis really isn't my thing. So if you LOVE Elvis its probably worth the splurge, however if your like me its proabably a skip. read more

This may be the most well done tourist attraction I have visited. I took my husband, my daughter, my grandchildren age 16, 14 and 8. We bought the VIP tour and I'm so glad we did. With it, you can go to the house as often as you like. We went twice and the second time, we took in more and felt more of the ambience. My grand kids fell in love with the Elvis presented to us there. We loved the planes and the automobile tour was outstanding. The shops and restaurants were well done too. I've always been a huge fan, and to have my grand kids understand what an amazing entertainer he was feels like a huge gift to me. I highly recommend visiting Graceland. read more

I'm not an Elvis fan and went on this tour with family, and basically just to say I visited Graceland. The tour of the mansion was nice. The iPad's were....ok. I really would've rather had an actual tour guide. I did miss parts of it as I was helping watch my young niece. Was it worth $50? I really don't think so, but again, it wasn't really my thing. I thought it was outrageous that we also had to pay $10 just to park. So you're paying $60-$80 minimum for a couple hours of looking at Elvis memorabilia. This was a one time thing for me. It truly is amazing the stature Presley had back in the day. Graceland is a great experience reliving the moments of a legends life by walking through his home. 2018 Graceland trip. My wife and I went in July. It was very interesting to see Graceland and all the attractions. Once inside Graceland we felt a little rushed to go through the mansion until we were out on the grounds. it was like going back in time. We loved every minute of it learning things we never knew about Elvis and his family. One thing that stood out to us was that there were mirrors everywhere. Come on now, we all know Elvis was good looking! Very nice layout of the land. Nice that all attractions were in walking distance including our hotel. Things to remember if you stay at The Guest House, the staff is AWESOME! They are willing to go above and beyond to help you in any way possible, and they did for us! It is a very pricey stay. Nice rooms though! A lot of taxes on things that you typically wouldn't think were taxable like parking (which they charge for per day). They tell you that breakfast is available between certain hours but its not complimentary. For the price you pay to stay, breakfast should be free. They have a peanut butter and jelly bar that is free at 10pm. Be ready to stand in line for a while in the hallway. We have visited a lot of places over the years and have to say this was trip was very money driven (yet relaxing). With the money that Memphis makes, the city could at least clean up the surrounding areas to make you feel more comfortable. The Guesthouse and Graceland stick out like jewels in a community that takes no pride in itself. Would we do this trip again? Not any time soon. Cross this off our bucket list as completed. read more

First off, I'm not a big fan of Elvis. That said, I really enjoyed this tour. You don't get to see all of the mansion and it doesn't have a "mansion" feel to it anymore but if you step back in time you can see just how upscale this place was. The Hall of Gold was fabulous. The only downside to this place is that it's a trap. Every time you walk into a part of the museum outside of the mansion, you end up in a souvenir shop. I hate that. Other than that, we had a good time and even found a lil cafe at Graceland that makes grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches. read more

I agree with most of the other reviews. To keep it short: We did the mid range tour, platinum tour. We very much enjoyed touring the mansion, the grounds, and all the other sites including the airplanes! Very cool. Elvis is a legend and I loved the audio tour. He was a great man, he was humble but he enjoyed life!! Most of the staff were nice and wore a smile. I would recommend NOT paying the extra money to park. There's plenty of parking along the road. I also DO NOT recommend eating there. We paid $55 for 4 meals. We had a hair ball in our drink and the hamburger buns were refrigerator cold! I'm from La so I was super excited to see them serving Community Coffee, only to realize the brewing was horrible and the coffee taste burnt. The experience was great and our children enjoyed it. I just don't recommend eating there or paying for parking. *Bring a sharpie and you can write your name on the bricks or the bridge. And as much money as this attraction is bringing to the city, it's kind of tough to see the surroundings so run down. I agree with the other review, get in and get out. read more
