4.3/5 [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a fantastic grab and go spot, very small so there isn't really seating here, but don't let that stop you from getting a coffee to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Good prices as well, around $5-7 range which is common for a solid coffee shop. Flannel Latte ordered iced: Good quality espresso very smooth not over or under extracted, I enjoyed the cracked allspice and maple and found they paired very well with the drink, not too milky or overbearing espresso, just a well rounded cup. My mom ordered a wet cappuccino: classic latte art that was nice to look at, perfect foam, very light rounded espresso flavor throughout due to the extra foam my mom likes. I enjoyed this hot drink on a cold day like today. I do wish there were a bit more coffee bags and the tasting notes/info/source was a bit bigger more direct on the bag kind if how jejes bags are but this is just a very minor preference. I would love to come back and try more! read more

Gracenote is easily one of the best coffee shops in Boston when it comes to pure coffee quality. They have their own roastery! I had a cortado, and it was absolutely delicious -- balanced, smooth, and dialed in perfectly. If you care about flavor and craftsmanship in the cup, this place delivers every time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A quick note: the shop itself is small, with some standing room but no chairs or tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's not a spot to study or work from -- it's a grab-your-coffee-and-go kind of place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But for the coffee alone? I thought I had left a review already! Spectacular espresso. After visiting many lovely places over the years, this remains our top spot in Boston. Flavors range from floral to caramel to mushroomy depending on the beans that are available, and everything from espresso to cortado to latte is magnificent. Worst coffee I have ever had in my life. Bland and lacked flavor. Honestly after one sip I had to give it to my husband because drinking it made me so mad and devoid of joy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is small but cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is quick. Do not recommend nut milk. Our friends also ordered drinks - the miso one and mocha one with regular milk, both of which they too did not like. Sad that this place had so much potential but was a letdown. read more

Lived up to the hype, delivering a smooth, flavorful cup of coffee that I thoroughly enjoyed. Solid spot for espresso drinks and cold brew. Although I'm a dark roast fan, gracenote's medium and lighter blends stood out to me and I have enjoyed all the coffee I've tried here. It's worth the trip over, I promise! I visited Gracenote Coffee Roasters yesterday and had such a great experience! The coffee was really good -- smooth, rich, and full of flavor. I was waiting outside with my dog, Pooky, and the staff kindly told me we could bring him inside. They were so nice and welcoming, which made my day! Gracenote has the best coffee in Boston, and a small, curated selection of pastries. I've been there many times over the years, and returned today for the first time in a long while. This is one of my new favorite to-go coffee shops in the city. The barista are super friendly and make some delicious drinks. This time around I got the Flannel latte and it was super rich, creamy, and sweet all while not overpowering the coffee. They also sell whole beans that you can enjoy at home (they're my boyfriend's favorite). Came across Gracenote as a highly reviewed coffee shop in the area. The cardamom latte was interesting and had a strong spice flavor, almost bitter. The Hawaii Five Ow is a spicy pineapple drink with house made spicy limeade that gave it a tiny kick. The miso caramel latte is a 10/10. If you are a matcha person, skip it here..low quality and pretty terrible honestly. Come here for the coffee/espresso based drinks as that's the focus and they do it incredibly well. read more

Banana bread was caramelized and cosmic. Drank 1/4 cup of milk before I finally made it to the espresso in my latte. I feel like coffee shops of this caliber should auto-toss or shake iced espresso-based beverages. Could tell the bean was good, but without it being shooketh, the latte was subpar. read more

This cafe kind of blends in with other buildings nearby but this cafe is a great find! It is small inside with minimal seating so it is more of a grab and go situation. The service is great and they definitely make your drink with care. I got a regular iced matcha with oat milk (they don't have almond milk) and a regular iced coffee. Their matcha is so yummy and rich and it has a good sweetness to it already. The iced coffee is definitely strong and fresh and they have a self service area for you to add in sugar as you like it. Overall, I had a great first experience here. This place has amazing quality drinks. read more

After an arrival to South Station, we took our luggage and ourselves over to Gracenote just a few blocks away. I read online this hidden gem was worth the visit, and out of all the coffee shops we dabbled in throughout our Boston trip, Gracenote was it. The shop's aesthetic gave me hipster, artistic vibes. It's a small space with a defined feel. I came back for a second cup of coffee when we were heading back to South Station for departure. The maple and allspice seasonal latte is literal perfection. The baristas on both occasions were great. We were also offered a printed and pocket-sized card of things to do in Boston, which was immensely helpful. read more

It was a spot that has been on my list for a while. It was smaller inside than I expected but there were a few seats. The staff was friendly but the conversation was minimal which is good in my opinion super early in the morning. They do not have almond milk which is a big let down to me. They also didn't have maple, they only had maple all spice. I gave it a try and it was not really my thing but the biggest issue for me was the price for the size. read more

I came here today at 12/29 to grab a morning pick me up. The two girls working behind the counter were SO FRIENDLY. They truly deserve a shoutout just for the hospitality and welcoming atmosphere. Both of them asked if we had any questions and gave good suggestions on what to order. I loved my Kiramitsu drink, I believe this was made using a brown sugar sauce. Gracenote was the perfect way to start my day! I usually opt for a latte, but the menu was too unique to not try one of their specialty drinks. I finally made it! Gracenote has been on my list of coffee roasters to visit for the longest time, ever since I learned that Nine Bar in Davis uses their beans. Gracenote is a slip of a place in the financial district, with an airy atmosphere and cool natural wood counters to perch (but no seating). I stopped by on my way to meet a friend near South Station and grabbed a cappuccino with almond milk to have there. I got the house espresso, which was a bit darker than the light roast I expected, but it was still well made and well balanced. The barista was happy to answer my questions about their tea selection and even showed me a new ceremonial matcha that they're experimenting with. If I had had more time, I would've stuck around to chat more. These guys know their coffee and tea. I bought some instant espresso packets to go. Can't wait to use them while traveling for the holidays! read more

Fantastic roaster and knowledgeable staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful set up with built in group heads and comforting atmosphere, albeit a bit small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Coffee leans towards that light roast, acid-forward, third-wave style but they extract it well so it's not astringent. Stumbled into this quaint espresso bar and they have really good coffee. Small indoor seating thought about 4 bar stools- it's more of a coffee stop and pick-up for to go. The quality of the coffee is good. They have few pastries for the day available and the quality is great as well. Very simple menu- quality vs quantity. I wasn't that impressed by the coffee. It had a bitter and kind of tangy/off-taste to it. However, the atmosphere is really nice. Chic wood, tall panes of glass windows, and tons of sunlight from this corner yet. The staff was friendly and attentive to detail. Might try a different style of coffee next time such as a flat white which may be better. Regardless, their coffee got the job done in keeping me alert during the day, which is important. read more

During my short trip to Boston I managed to squeeze in a visit to 10 coffee shops. Gracenote had the best cortado. Hands down! The temperature, the taste of the espresso and the knowledge of the barista were spot on. Gracenote sits right outside China Town in Boston. It's footprint is quite small. When I first walked into the shop I noticed a simple live edge bar that sits along the window. I told the barista that this was my eighth cortado in two days. He laughed and said there is always room in the day for another cortado. I am not going to lie. After that line I was expecting a great drink and he certainly delivered. When he gave me the cortado he said one part espresso and one part steamed milk; just enough milk to break up the bitterness of the espresso. Gracenote also roasts their own coffee beans. The next day I had a cortado at another coffee shop. I told my husband that I liked the taste and it was familiar for some reason. I asked someone at the counter where they got their coffee beans from and they said Gracenote. I would highly recommend Gracenote. read more

Gracenote is a cute coffee shop at the edge of Chinatown with high quality brews. We got two lattes to try and watched the barista brew the espresso fresh and the whole process done right in front of us. The baristas behind the counter are knowledge about their craft and were willing to answer any questions/accommodate requests to the best of their ability. The flavors were incredible. We got two of the seasonal specials with almond milk and are obsessed. Wishing they offered bigger sizes, BUT you really can't beat their quality. Price wise, they're on par with other specialty coffee shops in the area. For a seasonal special latte with almond milk and an extra shot of espresso, I paid around $8.50 - which is steep yes but considering how amazing it was, I think I could justify the cost every now and then. This is more of a grab and go cafe as opposed to a sit down situation, so don't expect to bring work and get it done here. I think that actually works out in their favor because it keeps the environment less cluttered and allows the baristas to actually do their job rather than having to worry about cleaning tables or dishes. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a specialty shop! read more

I really, really like this small coffee roaster that's on the outskirts of Boston's Chinatown. Their beans are amazing...all three of the ones I've tried have been almost perfectly roasted to bring out the natural flavors of the coffee. They always have two pour-over options, and they do a great job making them. The baristas are super knowledgable; I always enjoy standing and talking to them while they make my drink. Also, I never thought I would say this, but they make a really good instant coffee...10000X times better than nescafe or any other instant brand, and worth picking up one or two single-serving packets for the road. This will likely become my "go-to" coffee shop in Boston, and hopefully it will be yours too! read more

I don't hate it since it's so hard to find somewhere to sit in Boston but the Seaport office buildings do an ok job of offering a free space to sit in the lobby.

The counter has various types of milk available that you can add if necessary. This is the first time I've seen this in a Boston coffee shop; very thoughtful!

I am always surprised at how full I am when I leave! I'm stuffed every time. There is complementary miso soup with all of the bowls I've tried, outlined below. I really loved all of the bowls I've tried but my favorites are probably the Sake Aisuru Don and Kuromon Don. I just prefer more salmon to more tuna though, and they're all very good! Food: - Sake Aisuru Don: their classic all-salmon bowl! I loved the larger cuts of salmon, and I was pleasantly surprised that even the more pulverized salmon was flavorful! - Kuromon Don: loved the yellowtail in this! Each fish comes with two pieces (except the mackerel for which there are four), and I liked the sampler style for the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and izumidai. - Maguro Toro Don: so much tuna! And all such high quality. The otoro was so fatty that it practically melted in my mouth without chewing. - Sake Maguro Hamachi Don: a mix of salmon, blue fin tuna, and yellowtail. I liked the yellowtail in this a lot and found that it stood out the most from the other two fish in this particular bowl!

Again, so impressed with the quality of the fish and the size of it. They didn't skimp out and really enjoyed the thickness of the sashimi despite it only being 3 pieces.
