My child had an episode, I called. They took him. I was later told he was ok just going through some personal stuff. They however kept him for 3 days which is the minimum allowed. Though they assessed him as not having an issue which would make him need treatment, they kept him. Six weeks later a bill came in the mail $2500. We have insurance. Last December, my daughter bought her brother a pair of Adidas sneakers for Christmas, he was wearing them when he was admitted, they were fairly new shoes as my son doesn't leave home much. I didn't know he couldn't have shoes with laces, (makes sense). When I went to get my son on day #3, I waited for almost an hour because they couldn't find his shoes! He came home wearing some 1970s flip flops, he was given a form to fill out and return. We returned the papers. We have yet to have a response from them. We've called, still haven't found them. The place is like a prison, cameras everywhere, metal detectors, paperwork to fill. How did my son's shoes disappear without a trace? He didn't eat, sleep nor bathe for the 3 days he was there. He said the food looked gross he was afraid to be in the room with someone who was verbal constantly, (he took mini naps in the hallway) didn't want to undress. He was scared! Horrible they dont care. Not the doctors, nurses, techs or social workers. The nurses and techs spend all their time on their cellphones. Patients will knock you over to get a cup of coffee. They released a woman with severe low electrolytes and she collapsed two blocks down the street. They dont care. If you gave food allergies the nyrses will forget to order you food, so you don't get food. They dont care about you at all. read more

The communication is horrendous. I've been hung up on 6 times, they've taken my information to call me back and never did. This has been going on for over a week looking for my brother's lost property. Don't even get me started on the lack of treatment while he was there. Myself and other women were abused on camera here. 26 hours no bed no doctor, so I started reading our human rights on the wall and they tried to force me to take a random pill while refusing to tell me what it is even with my mom on the phone. They forced me into solitary confinement with 6+ people holding me down, pulled my pants down with men in the room, told me it was benzos. Turned out it was haldol!! I had an allergic reaction to it and they left me alone for 20 minutes. I could barely breathe, while hearing the nurse on the other side say "why is this bitch still here???" Good question right???! 26 hours no bed, no doctor. They didn't even put haldol on my medical records so the next hospital was confused I started having muscle stiffness and my jack locked. Fuck you guys forever especially their "clinical psychologist" Joseph who "wasn't willing to risk his license". Enjoy it while you got it Joseph and send me the video proof of me walking away from the facility, being attacked by a patient, and me being forced into solitary confinement with an allergic reaction. read more

Horrible. The nurses and Tech's are on their phones all the time. They don't care about people with food allergies; patients go without meals because nurses forget to call in for special diets. Patients can hit other patients and takes quite awhile for the techs to get to the lunch room; the techs were probably on their phones. The female psychiatrist spends about 2 minutes with a patient. Dr.Chicago is nasty, and spends 30 seconds with a patient. All they do is put the tv on for 16 hours. Just kill yourself; there is no help there. Read the other reviews, this facility makes people who are suicidal feel worse.There are addicts there who are preying on some of the weak patients. They don't care. read more

Disgraceful-Do not let anyone you love near this psychiatric facility if there are ANY other options available to you. They don't have the manpower to care for the amount of patients they take in and the result is cruel torture to people already experiencing an extreme low. The first time i was admitted to this hospital was when I was 6 years old it became a regular visit in spent most of my childhood in these places this is one of the worst me along with others were beatin sedated held down we were treated as guinea piggs there was a room i nicknamed the back room there were no cameras i remember the screams that came from behind that door i would not recommend this hospital i have been in a constant state of survival mode my whole life alot happened in there to me aswell as many others I was to afraid to talk about it until recently we were children not guinea piggs nobody was there to protect us i hope it's changed over the years cause nobody deserves to go through the things that happened in there i am 26 now and I will always remember when happened in there I still have nightmares and flashbacks this hospital did not help me and I now have to live with the pain for the rest of my life I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

I had the misfortune of being in this facility twice. It took almost an entire day to be admitted. Most of the nursing staff barely spoke or understood English. I got medication but no therapy either group or individual. No one knows what they are doing or cares about the patients there. The food is awful. Worse than school cafeteria food. I will not come here again. The after care after an inpatient admission is very poor also. read more

I would give it a lesser rating if possible. My husband was recently taken here for a baker act and then returned shortly after voluntarily. He described being in there like being in jail. He stated that the place was dirty and had bugs on the floor and the the staff both in the "waiting area" and the units were rude and treated all of the patients terribly. During his baker act, it took from 6:30am to 4:00pm before he was seen by a psychiatrist who provided no assistance and released him early. The discharge then took hours and when I arrived to get him I had to wait outside the building for at least 20 minutes before they brought him out. He was never given access to a bed or shower during that time. During his voluntary visit, he thought he would get help because he was still dealing with the same paranoia and suicidal thoughts. He waited 18 hours to speak to a doctor this time who gave no additional help other than telling him to go back on the medication he had stopped due to bad side effects. He stated they wouldn't let him call me once he moved to the unit and his calls before lunch were disconnected before they reached me. I spoke to him an hour ago and he stated he had been discharged but was waiting still waiting to have his items returned to him and he allowed to leave. read more

If I could give this facility a negative star I would because they don't deserve a star period. I utilized their services and am speaking off of my experience with the behavioral health technicians who work in the baker act department. A black male tech made a comment about my private area while licking his lips. He made sure to whisper it so no one would hear him. Also, another black behavioral health tech (women) who was behind the desk in the baker act department called me a b****. When I wanted to report this nothing was done I felt like my rights were not considered and I wasn't taken seriously probably because of my mental illness. Was here years ago for suicidal ideations. Low income, last place I could turn for help and it made my life so much worse. Gracepoint did not actually meet the minimum standard of care for these facilities in Florida which is already pretty low!!! The only time I was able to talk with someone about what I was going through was during intake. They had me sign away my rights (moving me from voluntary to involuntary) without telling me what I was signing. All just to get a pill that didn't work and trauma I was still processing. I was stable, they put me on the wing for people who weren't violent and yet they were so overcrowded we still had violent people around us. One of them hurt me. If I didn't have someone on the outside banging down the door with threats of lawyering up, I would have been broken by this place. Do not send anyone you love here ever. Do not donate to them. This place is a farm and they treat their patients like livestock. They even relied on outside orgs to feed us. read more
