My boys have been here for a little over one year. The professors here took in two timid boys and now these boys are full of confidence. My son that is on the spectrum is thriving. My other son has competed in some pretty big tournaments. Overall don't think on it, do it. The professors here are great, the kids have their favorites but even so they enjoy every class. Get your children in jiu-jistu, you can thank me later. I'm going to comment on the other person that made a whole review on their first visit. There are actual professors teaching. Most compete themselves. Also yes there are adult volunteers kinda like a teachers assistant. Or other teens that have time being there and they ask to help out. If you call them before just showing up, someone will be there waiting for you. They will explain everything. They will give you the 411, and how it works. This only applies for your first time. And also it's NOT a scam, yes there are promotions. They promote according to age and or experience. If the child is learning they will get promoted. Yes you will have to pay for the new belt. And yes your contract renews depending on what you signed up for. It's your job to cancel if you don't want to continue. They are also a vendor with some homeschool charters. You can use your certificates here. Your child will not stay a white belt forever. read more

This review is based on my first impression/ visit. Everything seems welcoming which is great. But when I went, there was no clear delineation of when a class began and ended, so unorganized. No one helped us at the front desk. Another parent helped my daughter get onto the floor. She joined the class and it was hard to distinguish where she belonged. The website says you'll be taught by this coach with experience but in reality it's parent volunteers who are assisting. I also saw a teenager helping out. There was no warmups or jumping jacks or sitting in a circle to get to know each other as I've experienced. My 8 year daughter began to spar and you can see there's kids who take it seriously and others who play around, my daughter being more the latter, and I don't think you should put those against each other. My daughter hurt her neck for about 3-4 days and she was fine after. But I let the woman who runs the place know and she never responded. We were texting about coming for a second intro class with her and she's fast to respond, but when I mentioned these other things she left me on "read" and I never heard back. The lack of encouragement to continue to try or even ask about my little one showed me all I need to know about this place. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this place and come here. They seem friendly but are unorganized and not very helpful and like a previous review mentioned it's parent volunteers teaching Jiu-Jitsu so maybe that's why my daughter got hurt because a professional coach would have caught that she's making a bad move on her neck, not a random parent. And I'm paying money to have a professional teach her. I would seriously reconsider coming here just due to the lack of encouragement or even concern. Just my opinion. read more

We tried giving this place a second chance after trying it out last year. I can confirm the things in the past three recent reviews are true. They are adamant about shoes on or off in certain areas, but the whole place isn't clean to begin with(restrooms are always dirty). They use water cooler fans to cool the place(instead of the AC) but doesnt seem like they clean out the water in them. they turn them on and it smells like moldy water. From what I've noticed, they've had about 4-5 different kids "coaches", they still have parent volunteers helping aswell, I saw kids getting hurt while the "coaches" were talking to each other, classes are not structured, they don't follow a curriculum, they teach the same thing all the time, sometimes they don't even teach and just have the kids spar, they cut classes short, the coaches never know what techniques are allowed or not with the kids.(leg locks, guillotines, etc) Half the instructors that are listed online don't even train/Coach there anymore, they left. The owner/main coach rarely shows up anymore. His wife doesnt show up aswell anymore. what I heard from other parents is that his personal problems have spewed into the gym itself. I was told he sat everyone down during a few classes and told his personal problems to the whole class. it was also mentioned that whole families have left recently along with a few people aswell(a black belt left with his whole family, that in itself will tell you something is going on). I am a business owner myself and you never mix personal issues with business/employees/clients, they don't need to know. we did not renew our contracts, there are better places elsewhere. we are paying for a service, that service is a safe family place to learn jiu jitsu from high rank coaches/instructors, if that service is not being provided then its time to move on. read more

Big scam!!! Promotes students every month and charges you for it! On top of your monthly tuition. My son was promoted a few times with out being there. Also Omar took it upon him self to renew my contract with out my signature. I don't mind spending money, even more than needed but I can tell they are in it for the money. Liars and pretend to be nice in your face but you can tell they are truly rude. If I knew I couldn't return something you should have told me up front not even a receipt given either which was sketchy. Lady told me over the email yes I can bring and return and in person the owner said no at first we got in an argument then he said he would give me a refund talking to me about karma, but when trying for the refund I was not given one in the long run. It's ok I learned my lesson, and he needs to take his own advice about karma. He doesn't know me or what I do. I am a good person only asking for what I paid back. Not a liar or stealing. I am a cancer survivor, widow, was in an hard time and needed the money back but honestly I'm in a much better financial position now, karma. Oh, also more of a review of the place not the owners now, the place smells like bad odor every time we went in there and my girls wanted to leave the place so bad but I told them no let's try but should've listened to my kids but families seemed sweet taking their kids here so it's a shame. Smelled like a gym that never cleaned or sanitized. Maybe instead of just giving sanitary wipes for the kids to use on their feet you need to take the mats out and sanitize them and underneath the mats and all the floors. But we moved states and found a great place my kids are actually excited to go to now, one that doesn't smell either, great people as well. read more

My family and I have been training here since 2018. My boy started when he was 4, and my little girl started when she was 3. I used to train at another academy before we moved out here and this was the best school I could find in the area. Personally I have not had any problems throughout our time training here. It is a very professional and family orientated atmosphere. From the massive potlucks after the kids belt promotions to family park days to our yearly trunk or treat Halloween event, the kids have fun and make new friends. Jiu jitsu is a contact sport, so be aware of that. but it does give kids the confidence and also discipline to handle various types of physical altercations they may encounter, specially at school. I was part of this so called "family" for almost 3 years and the one time I decided to go on a team outing and ride with my professor, I get kicked out. His wife deemed it "inappropriate" and left me no chance to explain or apologize. Anyone that knows me knows why I used Jiu jitsu and understands why I felt comfortable enough to ride with my professor. There were no hidden intentions behind my actions the way she claimed. I confided in my professor as any other student would and explained my history of trauma, which is why I don't understand why he would allow all of this to happen. If you're a female seeking out to train in this gym, be careful. The first moment his wife feels you're "threatening" her relationship or you want her husband the way she told me, she'll kick you out without hesitation. It was extremely rude and unprofessional for her to take such actions and not know how to keep her personal issues aside from the business. It was also very unprofessional of him to message me stating he was divorcing her due to this incident. Again, they need to keep their personal issues aside. read more

This is a excellent dojo. I brought my girl scout troop here, and they did an amazing presentation. With a few basic self defense lessons, and a very patient attitude for the young ones. They were very informative, and I would highly recommend them. Also it was amazing to see the girls look so confident, even the ones who are normally shy and intimidated. read more
