Fight Syndicate hands down is the best spot to train in Big Bear. I was completely uneducated or…read moreknew anything about Jiujitsu but wanted my son to try it. Coach Red let my son participate even tho he was a little younger than the class age range. The first class was a bit of a shock for my son never doing anything like that and there were some tears. Coach Red was understanding and handled him well while keeping an authoritative position which ALL kids need. My son asked to go back and we have been at fight syndicate for about a year and a half. My younger son watched for about 8 months and joined in as well at 4 year old with coaches approval. My mind is continually blown by the growth and strength I see in both my boys. We have pointed multiple friends to fight syndicate because they are the best, hands down. I constantly tell people jujitsu is the best sport and everyone should put their kid in it. It's not always easy but the skills they learn are life long skills, not temporary. Big Bear is luckily to have coach Red and Becca. They pour so much into the kids. Their skill and knowledge is beyond anyone else in our town and we are lucky they are here and our kids get to learn from them. On top of that they are rad and good people. People you want your kids around when it comes to a learning a new sport. We are also fortunate that we homeschool and can use our charter funds for our monthly membership at fight syndicate as they are on our vendor list. We love and appreciate both of them that we chose to use our funds the last 3 months of school even tho we knew it was unlikely we'd be making it during that time due to baseball and other things going on in our life. But we wanted those funds going to them because we believe in their business. Take your kids, you won't regret it!

And just because you coach doesn't make you the best coach. Yes it does matter putting him in his 1st bout with someone that has 4 bouts, even USA Boxing said that wasn't a good choice. So stop blaming my son when Brian made a bad choice by building my son up by making him seem more talented to USA Boxing and by matching him with someone more experienced. That's why the coach assistant you had and several people left your place already. I was told by someone that left your place; that Brian wasn't the best Coach, his classes were boring and he didn't teach new things. Even if Brian volunteered his time, he's still affiliated with your place). My son's Ex-boxing coach Brian put my son in his 1st Amateur bout with a kid that already had 4 bouts with USA Boxing? (The worst thing you could do). Brian with Bear Mountain Boxing Team is very irresponsible for doing this and thanks to Brian my son has no interest in Boxing anymore. Then Ryan (Red) sits there and blames my son Carlo for not winning the fight by saying he was socializing, scarfing down junk food and not conditioning? Ryan may be good at what he does but that doesn't make him a good coach. He's been cocky and rude when I talk to him from the moment I met him. Just like the lady said with USA Boxing, every coach thinks they are the best? I know several people that have left Fight Syndicate because of what happened, including my son's best friend, the boxing assistant that was there and his son. (Actually, this gives my son time to enjoy his life by staying active in other ways and not being tied down with an irresponsible coach. I believe Brian was doing all of this to make himself look good and not considering the damage he caused to my son). That's why any future activities for my son and myself will only be at HATC (High Alpine Training Center).

I tagged along and I'm glad I did. That was one of the most changing moments of my life. I met coach Dan and a few of the other guys that soon became my jiu jitsu family. Coach Dan. Man. I loved his slight accent, his morales, the way he knew where he stood. Being 16 years old and impressionable, he really helped mold me into the young lady I am today. He was never in it for the money. He coaches because he loves it. Definitely the BEST training you could get. He's hands down the best coach. The way he teaches and takes time with every student. His knowledge and years of experience. Starting jiu jitsu here was great. Stay loyal. Stay hungry to learn. You put in the hard work and enthusiasm, coach will help you progress. *flow with the go* Love, The tiny girl who walked in and didn't know what the fuck she was doing, but she loved it. - Geny

Dan has many sayings at his school, one of which is to leave your ego at the door, which every student at the school practices. Promotions in belt ranking will not come quickly or easily at this school, as they shouldn't, Dan emphasizes mastery of the basic fundamentals in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and will not promote you until he truly feels you are ready.
