My boys have been participating in the Gracie bully-proof program since last fall (2015)…read more Cameron(and Kane) are great with the kids. They seem to enjoy what they are doing. The kids are learning and having fun. The place is clean, parking is ample. The classes are small but large enough for all the kids to participate with a partner. What makes this program different from others is the kids are learning to protect themselves without hurting the bully unless they have to which keeps them from getting into trouble with the school. Freuently you'll see the bully and the child trying to defend themselves getting into trouble. That should not be the case here as the kids are learning to subdue and apply pressure (pain) as needed without causing unnecessary harm to the bully. The techniques work with any size. You will often see small kids paired up with.larger kids because size does not matter here. If you can subdue the bully and apply a little pressure on those sensitive spots you get get someone to leave you alone. I cannot speak on the adult classes , however I assume the apply the same the same techniques just more in depth. I have seen fake weapons so I believe he teaches them how to disarm someone if need be. It is also a little gentler on the body than other martial arts.

I loved the lady who was at reception, helping me sign my son up. I was sold with all the medals…read morethey won and all the things they teach the students. So my son is a beginner and they were made aware of this and said he could join in with the rest of the students. He doesn't know the basics and they throw him in with all these tournament kids. The instructor showed the group how to do these advanced moves only once and he made the kids partner up to practice it. The kid that was partnered with my son was frustrated because he wasn't doing it right. My son was frustrated and upset because he didn't know exactly what to do. I don't blame the child, he's not a teacher. I blame the instructor. I watched all this happen and I was LIVID. Do not take your child here if they are not experienced. My son was dealing with confidence issues as is, and this made it worse. Thanks alot!

The kids class offers just the right amount of discipline and self defense combined with exercise and games that keep the kids engaged and wanting to return. They both love it and look forward to classes every week. I am in the Adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes and love being part of the Impact Zone team. The instruction is on point and the classes do a good job of challenging me physically to get in shape. If martial arts isn't your thing that's ok, Impact Zone is a fitness center as well.
