This form of martial art is respectful, an exhausting workout, and will ACTUALLY help my sons when they are met with physical adversity or challenges in real-life situations. No stand-kick-and-shout-loud-in-specific-order in this gym. This is man to man battle to subdue with respect and my 10 year old's confidence has soared. I can't say enough about this place, their ethics, their skill....they are there for the right reasons and will be part of our lives for a LONG time!

Gracie Jiu Jitsu is the perfect style for him and Professor Trey has had experience teaching special needs students. My son was very excited and enthusiastic for nearly a year and moved up in belt rank before he lost interest. All of the coaches were understanding of his way of learning and self expression and made the lessons understandable even for him. I think he was attending to make his dad happy and I had no problem not wanting to go anymore. He did learn a lot for self defense. By that time my daughter was completely fascinated with what her brother had been going about and took his place as a student. She is about four months in and has tried every class that is offered. She enjoys the technical qualities of Jiu Jitsu, but also likes the real world aspects of the no gi classes. She also likes the Judo incorporated into the takedowns classes and especially appreciates how kickboxing rounds out what is missing from a complete MMA education. I think she will be practicing all of these for many years. I hope she can stay with Gracie United for a long time. They treat you like family and encourage the students the same way. I recommend this school and trust all of the teachers, coaches , and professors with my children. That should say plenty.

The instructor, Shawn, greeted me with a smile. The atmosphere is laid back. The instruction is clear. And everyone treats each other with respect. We took a group photo, and they invited me to come back. I recommend anyone traveling to Slidell to visit this school and train.

The Waterpark doesn't open until Memorial day since it's still off season and a bit cold. Check in and making reservations was easy and hassle free. The spot was level, had hookups for water, electricity, and a dump drain. Each spot also had its own firepit, which was really nice. It was nice that each spot also had an adjoining parking spot for a vehicle. We didn't use any showers or bathroom, so I can't comment on that. The beachside spots were a little costly at $100 a night ,but worth the splurge. Quiet hours were posted and everyone complied. Rating from F to A +++ it gets an A ++. Minus one + for being a bit costly.

He would respond, but the tears wouldn't stop. The coaches continued to be alert to all of the children and they followed along to a routine where everyone waited in line and had a turn. I was impressed how engaging the staff was with the kids (especially because most of them are young). The gym seems organized and it was clean.

Met me same day as I called, set up my membership and showed me how everything worked. Tons of different grip bars, power racks, bands, machines, prowlers, foam rollers etc, plus you can play your own music on the stereo. U get a keycard that works 24/7 which was super convenient especially around the holidays when most places have limited hours.

Its a place where you can grunt when you lift and not feel like you're intimidating someone. The only thing you're going to hear is "good job" and here's a couple things to focus on to improve your form. It's really cool to see a place where women and men lifters working out in the same group to become their best self. Its all about getting better and with that many serious lifters in one place, you get a heck of a lot of "free" fitness direction from folks who compete and stay injury free. The gym is never crowded often you may have it to yourself. Monday/Wednesday evenings and Saturday/Sunday mornings are the busiest and then its only 5-10.

Here for work and if you've followed me at all you know I review gyms. This gym isn't perfect, but it's pretty damn close. Met the owner, bubba, and he was polite and super friendly. Talked about other gyms and then carried on. Now most anytimes have precor. Not the best equipment around but thank God it's not matrix. He has all hammer strength and life fitness. Which is amazing mostly because he has three life fitness arc trainers. If you haven't used them, they look intimidating but they are by far the best cardio machine around. All the benefits of elliptical and running without the stress on knees/hips. You need to do yourself favor and check them out. Upstairs, here. Gym is clean. Not spotless but it's a gym. Have to appreciate a little stuff here and there. Most everything is maintained well. There is some spirding webbing on some benches and the precor cable machine upstairs has a hitch in it. But honestly all I saw that wasn't amazing. Layout is also great. It's pretty obvious he has a few gyms because the flow is good. I'll be in Slidell again, soon, and will be coming back here.
