Enttäuschende Erfahrung im Hotel Stanglwirt - Mehr Schein als Sein…read more Für uns wird es keinen weiteren Aufenthalt im Hotel Stanglwirt geben. Die Unflexibilität des Personals und der schlechte Service an der Rezeption werden dem Standart eines 5 Sterne Hauses nicht gerecht. Wir haben ein Paket inkl. Menü, Frühstück im Zimmer sowie Massage gebucht. Die Rezeption hat uns keinerlei bei der Buchung unterstützt, sondern wir mussten diese Leistungen regelrecht einfordern. Die Massage konnten wir am Ende nicht mehr wahrnehmen und bei dem Frühstück kam nur die Hälfte der Bestellung an. Zusätzlich war es enttäuschend zu erfahren, dass das Hotel nicht hundefreundlich ist. In jeglichen Bereichen des Hotels sind Hunde nicht gestattet. Nicht mal auf der Terrasse darf man beim Mittagessen den Hund mitnehmen. Auch beim Kinderbauernhof sind Hunde nicht gestattet. Nur im Gasthof, dessen Terrasse an der Hauptstraße liegt. Das bedeutet der Hund darf im Hotel eigentlich nur im Zimmer warten bis der Urlaub zuende ist. Auch ein Late Check Out war nicht möglich, sodass wir um 11 Uhr das Hotel verlassen mussten, da wir unseren Hund nicht mehr im Zimmer lassen konnten. Das Hotel hat keinen Alternativvorschlag angeboten. 40€ pro Nacht für eine Hund sind somit nicht gerechtfertigt (man bekommt nicht mal ein Hundkörbchen). Der Stanglwirt ist absolut nicht empfehlenswert mit Hund. Insgesamt sehr groß, unpersönlich, viele Menschen, der Spa ist schön aber sehr voll durch viele Tagesgäste. Der Standart entspricht hier keinem 5 Sterne Haus sondern ist eher Robinson Club Niveau (aber für rund 800€ pro Nacht ;)). Außerdem empfehlen wir die Rechnung genau zu prüfen am Ende des Aufenthalts, da diverse Posten auf unserer Endrechnung waren, die wir nicht hatten. An der Rezeption wurde uns dann aber am Ende auch wörtlich mitgeteilt, dass das Hotel im Schnitt 95% Auslastung hat und ob die Gäste zufrieden sind und ggf. wiederkommen, ist dem Stanglwirt deshalb eigentlich egal.

The children's pools and wellness areas were a hit with our family, and my husband and I were able to indulge in visits to the adult-only spa/pools as well, thanks to the children's programs. We will have daydreams about this beautiful place. In addition, the e-biking is so much fun, and the surrounding area offers many dedicated bike trails. This was a perfect vacation, and we appreciated the hospitality of Stanglwirt.

The Good: :: it's a local business!…read more :: it's ADULTS ONLY. what does this mean? it means no screaming kids running up and down hallways at all hours. it means you get to really recharge and enjoy the peace and quiet. it means really being able to relax!!!!!!! it was a HUGE selling point for why i booked this place! :: they offer USB ports to charge your devices in multiple places in the room...this is AWEsome. comes in so handy as most devices these days require USB to charge. no need to use multiple adapters! :: breakfast is offered for a very small fee. it's delivered straight to your room and is very tasty, not at all a gross amount of food. healthy, tasty options, like fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, bread roll, eggs :: coffee and tea are available free of charge 24-7 on the 2nd floor :: plenty of wine glasses, regular glasses, plates, bowls, cookware, etc on the 2nd floor if you want to make a meal. they also clean dishes so you don't have to worry about it! just leave it in the sink and they'll take care of it. :: elevator for use, which is incredibly handy for those on higher-level floors :: incredible views from your balcony. waking up every day and settling down every evening is a delight when you get to see the views accessible to you straight from the balcony. just incredible. being able to see the mountains and the clouds and fog against the water from the lake...so relaxing!!!! :: spacious showers. they also offer a tub if you wanted to soak :: room has a small refrigerator for use. it's got items in there that aren't free but just don't consume any of them and you're fine. :) :: wifi was solid :: location was awesome...only a 10-minute walk from the main part of Hallstatt. the best part about the location is that it is VERY quiet...you can escape the thick crowds during peak seasons when you make it back to your room and look out over the calm of the lake and mountains. serenity now!!!! :: the people are very helpful and friendly :: free parking! a rarity in Hallstatt The Bad: :: the heated floors aren't able to be turned off. however, if you get warm, just turn on the AC or open the balcony door for fresh air. watch for evening bugs that might be drawn to the light in the room! :: they don't take AMEX. no worries, though, just be sure to bring a Visa or Mastercard! When we dropped off our bags early, we checked in to find they had already been brought to our room. This was my first hint that this wasn't your average hotel. The room was huge and comfortable and homey (the bowl of walnuts was a nice touch). The heated bathroom floors were perfect for the chilly winter evenings. The rain shower was luxurious. Oh and did I mention they had an expresso machine in the room? I also loved the old radio and little library of books in the room. My boyfriend and I turned on some Christmas music, drank some beer we brought from Brussels and it was perfect. On Christmas Eve they had a little reception for the guests and gave personalized gifts to every family staying at the hotel. The morning breakfast had a huge variety of organic items. There were cheese plates galore, fresh squeeze juices, breads, cakes, you name it. I felt like royalty. Our stay here was the best hotel experience I have ever had, and I was sad to leave. If I have any complaint, it's that the hotel was so comfortable I probably spent more time in it and less time exploring the City than I should have! If I ever find myself back in Salzburg, there is no doubt I will find myself here again.

We chose this hotel specifically because of Flying the Nest's YouTube review! It was an absolutely wonderful experience. We speak very little German so we appreciated how well the employees spoke English. Our suite had a very private balcony with a stunning view. The luxury robes and spa bag were appreciated. Ordering room service was a smooth process every time. The nightstand had a small wooden mountain to place on your bed if you wanted housekeeping to change the linens - that was a nice touch. The small things never go unnoticed. The breakfast buffet and the Johann Grill were absolutely phenomenal. I cannot say enough about the restaurant staff. They are simply the best - especially the breakfast hostess, Rada. She went above and beyond to remember our names and make us feel at home each and every day. The lobby and valet employees were very kind. They even scheduled our taxi back to Munich for us. We also really enjoyed the lobby bar. We highly recommend the strawberry cheesecake cocktail and the golden rush! They also have food options available. One evening we enjoyed a nice quiet dinner in their outdoor courtyard on one of the swinging benches facing the mountains! The hotel includes a city transportation pass for your stay. But the walk to the bus stop wasn't as easy as we hoped. However, it was understandable since we were staying at the top of the mountain. The bus schedule was sometimes inconvenient. The last bus seemed to run around 6pm every night so we were unable to enjoy dinners in the city like we hoped. However, the hotel restaurants were so wonderful that we were glad to come back for dinner each night! I just wish the hotel had a shuttle that at least went to the Hauptbahnhof and back. Overall, we had a wonderful five star experience! We will definitely be staying at more Kempinski hotels in the future!
