It's been HOTTTT in Sacramento this week!! I went to bed and it was 93 degrees outside still and I was thinking the house was a little warm! I could feel ambient air out of the vents and realized that the condenser fan was not running. As soon as I came home from work, I turned the air back on and went outside to check the condenser. I could hear the contactor engaged but the fan was not running! YIKES!!! I quickly pulled the disconnect and opened the access panel and saw the dual run capacitor bulging! ( A tell tale sign it's bad! ) I then made several phone calls!! Everyone could "special" order my part but we're talking a week in this HEAT!!! I tried calling Grainger but I was too impatient to stay on hold!!! I jumped into the car and brought my part in. They have lots of employees and customers!! I had to wait but I needed this part ASAP! When it was my turn the gentleman was very knowledgeable and friendly! He found my part quickly and the whole transaction ran smoothly!! As for Grainger, great place and employees. Smaller retail area, but the important parts are in their warehouse area. You can buy as an individual or open an account if you're running a business. I gotta big up these guys. My home air conditioner died, and in 100+ degree heat, I didn't want to wait a week to get service. I started researching how to fix it, and I found that Grainger carried the fan motor and capacitor I needed, in stock! So 15 minutes after visiting their website, I got a new condenser fan motor and matching capacitor. The guy there (older dude, very knowledgeable) made sure that the capacitor matched the new motor, and gave me a little heads-up on how to mount the motor. With the help of Youtube and some trial and error, everything ended up working great -- we had cold air again that same day, and I saved $600+ by doing that work myself. this place fucken sucks. i will never buy, order from this place ever again. place an order, they told me it takes 4 days to get there because its coming from illinois. after 2 weeks no call. i call them and they told me that they see my order but they dont know what happen in the shipping process and dont have an estimation date for me. the customer service offer to ship to my house for free. it was a monday and she said it will be at my house on friday. friday comes nothing, monday nothing. i call cutomer service again and they told me tuesday now. i am so pissed. cant believe i waited a month for this order. this is fucken bullshit. they can take the order back if it arrives tomorrow, tuesday. so tuesday comes and i got nothing but a phone call to schedule a delivery day and the soonest they can deliver is thursday. i just told the delivery guy to send it back, i refused to take the shipment. this is unbelievable. will never buy anything from here again. read more
