After two days we had become regulars here...I loved that I could just walk up and pop my head in the door and hear the owner in a booming loud voice..."Two Cappuccino!" With our order placed we would then go and find a table on the outdoor deck. Every table has great views of the water! I could sit here all day...this is one of the most beautiful locations for a coffee shop ever. Also everyone has to walk by the cafe in order to get to the beach, so if you like people watching, then you cold sit here for hours. The sad part is that there are plenty of tables in the morning because most Sicilians make their espresso at home and are not going to sit out and have a coffee in the morning. This is a family business and the owners daughter is the server here...once our order is ready she brings it out to the table. The Cappuccino's here are amazing! Coffee, people watching and looking out at the sea...I wonder if I can just move into this table. As our week went on...people would stop and visit us at our table...we were becoming American celebrities. My uncle came down one day and bought us our coffee. The local police officer walked us home a few times...I asked him to handcuff me and then tell my Dad I was in big trouble...we had some good laughs. One morning as we were people watching we even saw my Dad go by...I invited him over and he hung out with us for a bit...it was nice and peaceful. Maybe I could convert him to join us in the morning but that was wishful thinking. In the afternoon and evening this is a great place to get some gelato or a beer. The young kids love to hang out here at night and socialize. This place has long hours and there busy time is always in the summer. If you find yourself in Marina de Modica and you need an incredible Cappuccino, then I highly recommend you pop your head in tell the owner Anthony from Chicago sent you and you want, "Two Cappuccino!"
