    Continental Breakfast for 14 euro
    Ashley F.

My husband and I ate breakfast here on our first morning in Rome. We were pretty late to the game (noon) and wanted some quick food. It was a very "American" breakfast but it was a lot of food for about 14 euros each. The continental breakfast came with toast, yogurt, coffee, orange juice, fruit salad, and cornflakes. While this is just standard stuff, it wasn't too tasty, the fruit salad was just alright, the coffee was good, and the yogurt wasn't great, it was just a good value. This is a quick and easy option if you just want a fast breakfast quickly.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this place! We stopped after trekking around the ruins and decided to "settle" for this place since it was literally the only restaurant on the block we were on. I assumed the food would be subpar given the location, but I was proven wrong. The waiter was the most impressive thing about this experience! I ordered a lunch special that included a margarita pizza, small drink, bruschetta, and a cappuccino for €15. My husband ordered a pancetta pizza for €12. I asked for my cappuccino at the end of my meal, and sure enough, he remembered to bring it as soon as I'd finished eating - and they were packed. He also spoke fluent English, French, and Italian. As for the food, the pizzas were very good. The bruschetta was gross (just bread with raw tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil), and the cappuccino was delicious.

BREAKFAST LATE! I don't know how late they serve breakfast, but at least though lunch / 1pm! Jet-lagged from Americana, we REALLY wanted breakfast but slept too late for the hotel breakfast. We happened upon this restaurant by the outdoor stairs and - breakfast! 4 stars to say THANK YOU from all jet-lagged Americans !

We stopped in the Gran Caffe Roma for a light snack right after our visit to the Museum Capitolini just up the hill and across the street. The 3 of us ordered a coffee, water, beer and a tiramisu desert. They brought a bowl of chips with my beer. Service was quick, the snack was good and we enjoyed the rest after walking around for a few hours. This place is very conveniently located just across the street from Piazza Venezia.

Not bad. Food was good, the view of the stairs was nice from outside. Not overly expensive.

Nice place for a caffe off the beaten path, but they need better management and service staff.

If you're looking for a classic Roman coffee experience, La Casa del Caffè Tazza d'Oro is…read moredefinitely one to add to your list. Located just steps from the Pantheon in Piazza della Rotonda, this historic coffee bar has been a Roman institution since 1946 and is especially known for its coffee, which has helped make it one of the city's most famous cafés. The line was pretty long when we arrived, but it moved surprisingly quickly. You can enjoy your coffee and pastries inside while standing at the counter, or, if you're lucky, grab one of the few seats available inside. There's also outdoor seating, but keep in mind that sitting outside comes with a separate--and if I remember correctly, significantly higher--service charge. I'll be honest--I'm pretty sure I ordered the wrong thing. I ended up with what was essentially a frosty coffee ice cream, which is not what I was going for, lol. I was supposed to order the Granita di caffè con panna, which is their signature. It's a coffee granita--essentially finely shaved/frozen coffee--topped with whipped cream. Instead of whipped cream, I accidentally told my Italian nephew I wanted the coffee with ice cream, whoops. I also ordered a maritozzo, which I was absolutely on a mission to try while in Rome. The maritozzo is a traditional Roman sweet bun filled generously with whipped cream, and it did not disappoint. I was in a bit of a rush, so I didn't have time to enjoy my maritozzo there. I packed it up and ate it later that evening, and it was still delicious. I've also essentially given up coffee completely, so I only had a few bites and sips of my coffee ice cream, but what I tried was really good. The menu is fairly large and varied, and it can feel a little overwhelming when you're standing at the counter with a line behind you. I'd recommend taking a look at the menu ahead of time if you can so you have an idea of what you want before you get up to order. Overall, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. Tazza d'Oro is an institution, the location is hard to beat, and there's something fun about experiencing one of Rome's longtime coffee traditions--even if you accidentally order the wrong thing like I did!
