I saw this was highly recommended on IG. The space is nice and had adequate counter bar space for you to stand and enjoy your food/drinks. The staff were pleasant enough. We ordered a granita which was refreshing, and their famous marritozo. Everything was great!
We were near this cafe and ordered a cappuccino and latte. Then we realized we had to try the Maritozzi and the bread was sweet and the whipped cream was not. Great balance together. Standing around the bar to drink the coffee and eat your pastry is the common practice.
Latte was good, 8/10. Not overall bitter or sweet. Croissant 6/10 and tiramisu 6.8/10 were okay. Nothing quite special about either. The croissant was also cold. It would have been better warm. The tiramisu wasn't bad just tasted like the standard in Rome.
This is a historic standing only coffee bar in the heart of Rome. I thought the coffee was good, not great. The best thing to have on a hot day if exploring near the Pantheon is the Creme De Caffe. Its a cold, creamy, sweet few sips of goodness. I would return just for this!

Don't get intimidated by the long line! It goes by fast! This is a great place to stop by to pick up an espresso shot and continue exploring the city. You first pay for your items and then you go to the bar counter with the receipt and your order will come. There are no stools, so it's a standing counter where you enjoy your order. This is a nice concept because that means service is quick and people going in and out fast. There's a seating area too where you can enjoy your coffee and desserts, but that would be a different area where you can order from the server instead of the counters. The espresso shot was delicious!! The smell and the taste were exceptional! We got many coffee bean bags as gifts for family and friends! Highly recommend stopping by this place especially since it's so central to so many things!
You'll never be on a shortage of caffeine when in Rome! We came by this coffee shop at 6:50pm, they're near the Pantheon, so it was a quick walk over. I got the Latte Macchiato and we opted to have drink at the bar so that we don't have to pay the table fee. The latte macchiato was delicious and gave me that caffeine that I needed. They're also now for their maritozzo, but unfortunately they didn't have it that day.

The smell inside is amazing and they can pretty much prepare coffee in every way imaginable. If you're looking for a refreshing dessert, definitely try the coffee granitas with the fresh whipped cream. If you want to avoid the busy-ness of the bar, there is a small seated area outside with a small increase in drink prices. And if you'd like to bring some coffee home, they have a nice selection inside (and by vending machine) for purchase.

This place was so cute!! It is rather small but they work very fast. I got the maritozzi and fresh orange juice. They were the perfect snack for the heat. It was a little confusing because you have to get in a line to order and then another line to pick up and it wasn't clearly marked. Despite that, we got our food quick. Loved it and wish we would have gotten our own. Don't share one, get your own!
Our tour guide for the golf cart tour of Rome (Alex) was showing us the outside of the Pantheon. He mentioned that Tazza d'Oro is a great place for espresso. It was the right time of day (pretty much any time is) so I offered to buy us a round. He was right, excellent quality espresso and a professional staff. Couple of days later, our travels brought us to the same neighborhood and we had it again. This time my wife added a cold coffee and my daughters had frozen lemon drinks. All good! Next time I'm in the shadow of the Pantheon, I'm stopping by Tazza d'Oro!
Cappuccino was especially delicious here. Very creamy! The service was very quick and the chocolate croissant was decadent! Will come back again!
Cute but busy shop near the Pantheon. They have coffee that you can tack back home if you like. Staff is very friendly and efficient.

If you're looking for a classic Roman coffee experience, La Casa del Caffè Tazza d'Oro is definitely one to add to your list. Located just steps from the Pantheon in Piazza della Rotonda, this historic coffee bar has been a Roman institution since 1946 and is especially known for its coffee, which has helped make it one of the city's most famous cafés. The line was pretty long when we arrived, but it moved surprisingly quickly. You can enjoy your coffee and pastries inside while standing at the counter, or, if you're lucky, grab one of the few seats available inside. There's also outdoor seating, but keep in mind that sitting outside comes with a separate--and if I remember correctly, significantly higher--service charge. I'll be honest--I'm pretty sure I ordered the wrong thing. I ended up with what was essentially a frosty coffee ice cream, which is not what I was going for, lol. I was supposed to order the Granita di caffè con panna, which is their signature. It's a coffee granita--essentially finely shaved/frozen coffee--topped with whipped cream. Instead of whipped cream, I accidentally told my Italian nephew I wanted the coffee with ice cream, whoops. I also ordered a maritozzo, which I was absolutely on a mission to try while in Rome. The maritozzo is a traditional Roman sweet bun filled generously with whipped cream, and it did not disappoint. I was in a bit of a rush, so I didn't have time to enjoy my maritozzo there. I packed it up and ate it later that evening, and it was still delicious. I've also essentially given up coffee completely, so I only had a few bites and sips of my coffee ice cream, but what I tried was really good. The menu is fairly large and varied, and it can feel a little overwhelming when you're standing at the counter with a line behind you. I'd recommend taking a look at the menu ahead of time if you can so you have an idea of what you want before you get up to order. Overall, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. Tazza d'Oro is an institution, the location is hard to beat, and there's something fun about experiencing one of Rome's longtime coffee traditions--even if you accidentally order the wrong thing like I did! read more

The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional--truly a 10/10 experience. I enjoyed the granita, while my son and daughter had the blended lemon drink. We also sampled a variety of pastries, each one delicious. The service was outstanding--friendly and attentive. We took our time enjoying coffee in a relaxed and welcoming environment, soaking in the views and engaging in pleasant conversation with locals. Highly recommend. read more

Stopped here for an italian breakfast during our Rome trip. You order at the counter, they give you a receipt, and you take this to the service counter to get your order. We drank our coffee and ate our sweets and were quickly on our way. Service was fast and pleasant. read more
Came here to try as this was 1 of 2 most popular cafes around Pantheon. Like other cafe's you order at the cashier and take your ticket to a barista for them to prepare your drinks and give you the food you ordered. Unsure if it was busy or they were just ignoring me as it took me a while to find a barista who would take my ticket. 1 kept doing his thing, ignoring the bar. Wasn't until I moved to another guy, it somehow got the 1st guy to make the drinks. Had gotten varying fresh croissants w/ espressos, cappuccinos and lattes. Very good flavor, smooth, MAYBE mildly better than their nearby competitor (i like both of them). Mildly weird layout as it zigzags around so it seems cramped in a way. After our drinks and food, I went to buy coffee beans as well as some chocolate covered coffee beans here (but i also did elsewhere too cus both were just so good). read more
Rome for a week and I think this was the most visited place on our trip. Leave the cornetto, take the granita. Or crema. UhhhhhMAZING. Classic decor, feels like a Time Machine. Prompt service, nice balance: you can take your time but the staff certainly doesn't. Piles of panna make that granita EVERYTHING! Enjoy. read more
Randomly stumbled upon this coffee shop as we were leaving the Pantheon and I'm glad we did. Take note this review is from an American visiting Rome. It's a typical Italian coffee shop where you order your coffee then you wait at the bar to consume your drink. You can also sit down first if you want table service - but price is more. The ambiance inside I think adds to how good the coffee was for us - standing at the bar facing the baristas making our coffee and then drinking it right there. I felt Italian for a second. They were so good we came back the next day and bought some coffee beans for home. The two days we were there we ordered cappuccino, cafe latte and espresso. read more

Walk toward 1:00 with the Pantheon behind you. This is about a min or two stroll across the plaza. You may need to dodge a tour group or two. Walk into the little street but don't go too far in as you'll probably pass the end of the line! Be prepared to wait in line. There is no table service. There are some benches inside and if you're lucky, by the time you get your granita, someone will have finished theirs and you can take a seat! The line moves fast as most everyone is ordering an espresso, slurped in a few gulps. This is an experience. Enjoy! read more
I was hanging around the Pantheon and decided to grab an espresso and an Aperol Spritz before exploring the almost-19-centuries-old church. This cafe had a nice exterior/signage as well as interesting coffee memorabilia inside. Service was great. Beware this joint can get pretty busy, especially the outside seating. People watching and coffee outside a famous landmark is the thing to do, when in Rome! read more

Visited on a Wednesday 11am, got a table asap, no wait. Went to wash room, super clean, although the lock doesnt really lock, but there is just a sink, for washing just hands. Ordered one vegetarian meal, Parkdale, fkn delicious. Wheat toast had butter on it already, fyi. Husband ordered Via del Leone, chicken wrap, husband said great portion and also fkn delicious. We also ordered their house lemonade, refreshing with ice. Just a must when in Florence, they also gave us a sweet post card, thank you. read more

One essential aspect of traveling is to find a great spot to grab coffee in the morning as well as breakfast. We were able to find two places that quickly became our favorite breakfast locations. Cafe Tazza o'rozo was our most frequented breakfast spot. We tried the latte macchiato, cappuccino di soia and a caffè latte di soia. The latte macchiato obviously is mostly milk and has very little caffeine, but it is delicious. If you are battling jet lag and need more of a caffeine punch, I would recommend a Cappuccino or a caffè latte. Italian breakfast typically is a pastry of sorts. We tried a paste assortite which was good. There was a cream filling which made it extra sweet. I would probably advise a regular croissant if you don't like heavily sweet breakfast items. Once you order, you stand at the bar to receive your order. If you aren't in a rush, you can take a seat outside and people watch. We enjoyed their coffee so much that we purchased bags of coffee as gifts for family and friends. read more
Lovely cafe tucked adjacent to the Pantheon. It can get busy because of the tourists coming to see the Pantheon but it's a wonderful spot to take a break, have an espresso and a pastry to get the energy needed for more sightseeing! read more
The avid coffee lover in me marked this location and ensured it was one of the first stops on our Rome adventure. Albeit touristy - do expect a line - this was worth it! We got an espresso and macchiato for 3,90 euros - both delicious! There's a long list of other coffees you can try- albeit some are probably unheard of if you're from the states like us, but it's all part of the experience! This was among our most memorable experiences. I tell all my friends visiting Rome to try!! read more

We stopped here after doing some sight seeing at the Pantheon. Nice coffee shop that also sells coffee, tea, and other coffee lover items. We ordered a cappuccino and and iced americano. The cappuccino seemed reasonably priced at 1.50 euro, however the iced americano was 3.50 for a small. The service was relatively fast- you pay and then they give you an order ticket. You then walk over to the barista and hand them the ticket and they make your order. They have seating room also on a patio area, however there is a sign showing they charge a "sitting fee" if you want table service. Overall our drinks were good and the staff was very nice. It's a little touristy, however being walking distance from the Pantheon I feel that is to be expected. read more

Such a pippin' place, where people just stop by at the bar, have a coffee and pastry and then head out. There is something special about taking a break to sip coffee from a ceramic cup and enjoying a fluffy crossaint with delicious jam. Typically us Americans will grab coffee to go in a hurry to work, but imagine taking a moment to enjoy yourself, even if it is just 5 minutes. The coffee here is also very inexpensive. I truly wish we had one like this here. We usually grab the cappuccino and a croissant with the jam. Other items are great too- just watch what others order as this place is always crowded. Great place for a date too! You can take a walk to grab coffee and chat (keep in mind there is no seating and you mostly are standing at a bar). Then you can take a walk to the Pantheon or down any streets to take a romantic stroll. Man I love Rome! read more
