Don't get intimidated by the long line! It goes by fast! This is a great place to stop by to pick up an espresso shot and continue exploring the city. You first pay for your items and then you go to the bar counter with the receipt and your order will come. There are no stools, so it's a standing counter where you enjoy your order. This is a nice concept because that means service is quick and people going in and out fast. There's a seating area too where you can enjoy your coffee and desserts, but that would be a different area where you can order from the server instead of the counters. The espresso shot was delicious!! The smell and the taste were exceptional! We got many coffee bean bags as gifts for family and friends! You'll never be on a shortage of caffeine when in Rome! We came by this coffee shop at 6:50pm, they're near the Pantheon, so it was a quick walk over. I got the Latte Macchiato and we opted to have drink at the bar so that we don't have to pay the table fee. The latte macchiato was delicious and gave me that caffeine that I needed. If you're near the pantheon and need a pick me up, check out this spot which is only steps away! They run a busy, but highly efficient bar with workers whipping out orders every second. The smell inside is amazing and they can pretty much prepare coffee in every way imaginable. If you're looking for a refreshing dessert, definitely try the coffee granitas with the fresh whipped cream. If you want to avoid the busy-ness of the bar, there is a small seated area outside with a small increase in drink prices. Yup, it's a tourist trap, so naturally we went twice. The first time was to cool down with a granita. It looked wonderful but my husband said it was overly sweet. Bummer! We came back on a stormy day to warm up after getting drenched. The cappuccinos were fine. No complaints but also didn't measure up to the caffe we found in Trastevere. It's crowded here. Came here to try as this was 1 of 2 most popular cafes around Pantheon. Like other cafe's you order at the cashier and take your ticket to a barista for them to prepare your drinks and give you the food you ordered. Unsure if it was busy or they were just ignoring me as it took me a while to find a barista who would take my ticket. 1 kept doing his thing, ignoring the bar. Wasn't until I moved to another guy, it somehow got the 1st guy to make the drinks. Had gotten varying fresh croissants w/ espressos, cappuccinos and lattes. Very good flavor, smooth, MAYBE mildly better than their nearby competitor (i like both of them). Mildly weird layout as it zigzags around so it seems cramped in a way. It's a typical Italian coffee shop where you order your coffee then you wait at the bar to consume your drink. You can also sit down first if you want table service - but price is more. The ambiance inside I think adds to how good the coffee was for us - standing at the bar facing the baristas making our coffee and then drinking it right there. I felt Italian for a second. Walk into the little street but don't go too far in as you'll probably pass the end of the line! Be prepared to wait in line. There is no table service. There are some benches inside and if you're lucky, by the time you get your granita, someone will have finished theirs and you can take a seat! So in many cities you can always find a rival. I see some people like Sant' Eustachio Il Caffè and for others it's La Casa del Tazza d'Oro. This place is the winner for me hands down. Rome coffee shops are usually pretty busy and it's all serious business when you are looking for that caffeine fix. This place has it down. Don't be intimidated by the long lines. They are very efficient here in getting people through the cafe. Remember this is not Starbucks and they are not looking to be your friend. They are here to process your order and get you some excellent coffee / pastry quickly for a reasonable price. Just in case you are not familiar you go first to the register to place your order. There is a menu board so be prepared to announce exactly what you want. You will pay and get a ticket that you will take to the bar and hand to a barista who will prepare/gather your items. You then stand at the bar and enjoy. In and out, quick and efficient! There is a limited number of seats if you prefer but be aware the prices posted are HIGHER if you choose to sit, take up space and have your items brought to you. I recommend embracing the culture and stand at the bar like the locals. I also thought this place had the best maritozzi. I don't think it's made in house but I thought theirs what the best. They often have a special posted on paper by the register for a special price for a coffee and maritozzi (under 5 euros) Just remember you are standing to eat and drink. Visited on a Wednesday 11am, got a table asap, no wait. Went to wash room, super clean, although the lock doesnt really lock, but there is just a sink, for washing just hands. Ordered one vegetarian meal, Parkdale, fkn delicious. Wheat toast had butter on it already, fyi. Husband ordered Via del Leone, chicken wrap, husband said great portion and also fkn delicious. One essential aspect of traveling is to find a great spot to grab coffee in the morning as well as breakfast. We were able to find two places that quickly became our favorite breakfast locations. Cafe Tazza o'rozo was our most frequented breakfast spot. We tried the latte macchiato, cappuccino di soia and a caffè latte di soia. The latte macchiato obviously is mostly milk and has very little caffeine, but it is delicious. If you are battling jet lag and need more of a caffeine punch, I would recommend a Cappuccino or a caffè latte. Italian breakfast typically is a pastry of sorts. We tried a paste assortite which was good. There was a cream filling which made it extra sweet. I would probably advise a regular croissant if you don't like heavily sweet breakfast items. Once you order, you stand at the bar to receive your order. If you aren't in a rush, you can take a seat outside and people watch. We enjoyed their coffee so much that we purchased bags of coffee as gifts for family and friends. read more

The avid coffee lover in me marked this location and ensured it was one of the first stops on our Rome adventure. Albeit touristy - do expect a line - this was worth it! We got an espresso and macchiato for 3,90 euros - both delicious! The cappuccino seemed reasonably priced at 1.50 euro, however the iced americano was 3.50 for a small. The service was relatively fast- you pay and then they give you an order ticket. You then walk over to the barista and hand them the ticket and they make your order. They have seating room also on a patio area, however there is a sign showing they charge a "sitting fee" if you want table service. Overall our drinks were good and the staff was very nice. It's a little touristy, however being walking distance from the Pantheon I feel that is to be expected. read more

Such a pippin' place, where people just stop by at the bar, have a coffee and pastry and then head out. There is something special about taking a break to sip coffee from a ceramic cup and enjoying a fluffy crossaint with delicious jam. Typically us Americans will grab coffee to go in a hurry to work, but imagine taking a moment to enjoy yourself, even if it is just 5 minutes. The coffee here is also very inexpensive. I truly wish we had one like this here. We usually grab the cappuccino and a croissant with the jam. Other items are great too- just watch what others order as this place is always crowded. Great place for a date too! You can take a walk to grab coffee and chat (keep in mind there is no seating and you mostly are standing at a bar).
