This was the first Disney resort I had been to. The first word that came to mind upon our arrival…read morewas "evocative". I was stunned by how beautiful this place was, and how throughly it made me feel like I was in a little enclave of New Orleans. It was quaint and quiet. When we were walking around there was even a horse-drawn carriage making its way down the street with passengers. (Note that the streets aren't open to traffic, just the carriages and maybe small vehicles that the resort employees use.) The lobby is beautiful and very large. There's a gift shop connected to the lobby, and also a little arcade area further back by the bathrooms. On the other side of the entryway courtyard is the quick service restaurant, Sassagoula's, and the coffee shop (the latter is where you'll get some delicious Mickey Mouse-shaped beignets). My favorite part was the splash pad and pool area. Not for myself, but because of my daughter. They have an amazing pool area. There's the larger pool, which has a serpent-shaped waterslide. Adjacent to that is a smaller splash pad area designed for kids. That splash pad area is HUGE! There are two water slides, one of which is enclose all the way around and is significantly the lager of the two. Opposite that is a smaller waterslide that is open and more appropriate for small children, like my toddler. There are a bunch of other water features like a few little water spouts that move around 360 degrees. There's a little wading pool that doesn't go deep, not even a foot, but fun to sit in and splash. There's also a huge water drum, filled up by a pipe at the top and when there's enough water it spins and releases all the water. That was a lot of fun for all the kids playing around. There was a downside. It may simply be the room that we were in, and it didn't feel small exactly, but if I recall correctly there were no drawers in the room. There was a little bathroom/sink area that had some shelves and a few hangers, but that's not really practical. If I was to consider staying here again, that might be a factor in my decision, because I if I stay here for more than three nights I like to be able to unpack my suitcase, not live out of it. Having said that, I did like this resort quite a lot. I would indeed consider staying here again, especially since we only stayed a single night. There's boat access to at least one park, which is helpful, and we took an Uber to Animal Kingdom. The pool/splash pad alone is a big pull towards this resort (the beignets don't hurt, either!), so next time we make it to Disney Port Orleans will be on my short list.

When you spend thousands of dollars at the happiest place on earth,you expect happiness , equivalent service and amenities. I should have done more research on where I booked in the resort. My family was in The Lion King section and my room was at the end in the Little mermaid section. I wasn't able to change my room when I checked in either. Upon arrival, there was a long line of guests waiting at the check-in area but not all we're checking in. I waited about 20 minutes. There were only 3 to 4 reps at the counters helping guests. Recommendation, have dedicated check-in counters and dedicated service counters clearly defined for guest as they arrive. It was a little chaotic. When I did check in, it was easy and the guest representative was very helpful. I waited in the reception area fory family and the headed to the animation store (so many fun things to buy. They have snacks, swag, collectables, and toiletries) then I went to the cafeteria with my three big Littles, they wanted some pizza. Best practice, by the refillable mug! It is worth the $22 investment. What went well: although this is a dated resort, it is well kept and very clean! My room was clean and comfortable. I've even tried to find the sheets because they were some of the most comfortable sheets I've ever slept in. There is an Alexa type device in the room to help you during the stay. Housekeeping comes every other day, the schedule is laid out in your room. You are able to request items as needed on the off days. The food in the cafeteria was really good, expensive but good. Great variety and you're able to mobile order from your resort app. The main pool was fun but a lot of people. You are able to go to one of the other pools that are not as crowded. There is a laundry facility on site near the main pool. Very convenient. You are able to refill your water bottles in the cafeteria drink area. There is a cute arcade in the main area We saw Disney characters several times in the main area What did not go so well: the long walk from where my room was to wear my family was to the main area was not ideal. I wish I would have known before booking. No AC in the elevators. Really. The elevators are a cremation box. Guest services was not the friendliest. I was shocked at how dismissive and rude they were. The bellman area employee was outright rude and miserable when I simply asked for my doordash order. Guest services over the phone we're not helpful and were rude when I called 2 times for assistance (luggage question, late checkout question) The majority of the cafeteria workers were not the friendliest. My grand Little's witnessed an employee yelling at a guest to hurry up and get her coffee she was taking too long. Sigh. Overall the stay was a mid experience. While the resort is well maintained and clean, the staff was not as welcoming. I will not stay here ever again, but if you do not care about the friendliness of the crew or care if it's a mid experience, I'd say go for it. Also, the kids love this resort so if you have Little's this may be the spot for you.

It is also very clean, and I have no complaints about the overall property. The only downside was the shower head in the hotel room. I'm not sure if it's designed that way, but the water pressure was extremely strong, and there didn't seem to be a way to adjust the settings. Aside from that minor issue, I had another wonderful stay and would love to return. The service is great and they do have a cafeteria and friendly big gift shop. Transportation to theme parks are accessible too! They have buses and skylines (go to Hollywood Studio and Epcot) that runs often; so you have option!

The jogging trail and overall scenery are genuinely beautiful and make it feel like a relaxing escape after long park days. The freestyle soda machines were a nice perk, and the food quality exceeded expectations--it felt thoughtfully prepared rather than typical cafeteria-style resort food. Our room was very clean, which always makes a big difference, and the variety of transportation options to the parks was convenient and flexible. For what we paid, the value felt fair, especially considering the amenities. The pool area was also a highlight, and throughout our stay, the employees were consistently professional and helpful. The on-site laundry room was another underrated bonus--it made it easy to head home without a pile of laundry waiting. That said, there were a few drawbacks. We did notice gnats occasionally making their way into the room, which was frustrating. Transportation to Magic Kingdom in particular was inconsistent--the bus took a long time and caused us to miss early entry one morning. One bus driver interaction also stood out, as we were repeatedly corrected about our stroller not being "fully folded" (even though it was), along with strict direction on where we could stand or sit. Additionally, depending on your room location, the walk to Centertown Market can be quite long and inconvenient. The resort is also a bit far from any off-property convenience stores if you need to grab last-minute items, and the lack of a fitness center may be a downside for some guests. Overall, despite a few inconveniences, this was a fun and enjoyable place to stay. The positives definitely outweighed the negatives, and I would recommend it--and would stay here again.

When a vacation room has a door that faces the outside of the property I defined that as a motel and so that perception was immediately disappointing. We also experienced a lot of bugs coming in and out of the room and since you weren't in an interior space, traditional to a hotel, it contributed to having to walk through them. The resort is big in the pool area was nice. Getting from our room to the common area with food and gift shops seemed quite a distance, especially for us with a younger family. Travel to and from the park was convenient, although like any resort, very busy during peak times. Having visited other Disney resorts and resorts outside of the park, we would no longer choose to stay at the Caribbean beach resort.

Firstly.....this place is GOR.GEOUS. The spanish/Mexican/Southwestern theming is beyond beautiful. The layout is nice, with the Three Bridges tying everything together. The pool here is top notch and there are a multitude of food options. (More on this in a second...) About the pool, it is HUMONGOUS, and exquisitely themed, with a huge Mayan temple and super long "Jaguar slide." The hot tube is the biggest in all of Disney, and there is a playground adjacent to the pool. There is only a TINY, non descript basically toddler splash pad, and no water play area for the kids though. Everyone complains about the busses because of the size of the resort, but that wasn't nearly as big an issue as it's made out to seem. (There IS an issue with the busses, but again....give me a second.) I wasn't able to see the actual rooms at Coronado as, again, I stayed at the Gran Destino Tower, but if they look half as nice on the inside as they do the outside you should be fine. Seriously, this place is visually stunning. The knocks are few, but potentially big. First and foremost, the El Mercado quick service dining is, in Coronado Springs parlance, BASURA. Absolute trash. The main dining facility of Coronado is almost inedible. LUCKILY, you have other options within literal feet of El Mercado (in Rix sports bar, and Maya Grill,) and then the Three Bridges Bar and Grill a quick stroll away. Hell, even eating at Siestas pool bar is 100 times better than El Mercado. The food at El Mercado was just terrible. We ate there once, and then never again. The choices are terrible, the execution much much worse, and the price was way too much for the quality you get. For literally a few dollars more, you can get a MUCH better meal elsewhere. The Barcelona LOUNGE; a literal bar in the Gran Destino Tower, served a better breakfast sandwich than the MAIN FOOD COURT OF THE HOTEL. If there weren't so many other food options, I would never stay here again because of El Mercado alone. About those busses; like I said, it's not that big of a deal vis a vie resort size. Yes, Coronado is big, but the bus situation is not like say Caribbean Beach, where the busses feel like a war of attrition. There are only 4 bus stops at CS. The loop does not take that long at all. But what IS mildly infuriating is that there is no rhyme or reason to the stops. Gran Destino is "stop 1" on the loop, but sometimes it was the first stop heading out, sometimes the last. Sometimes on the way back from the park, the driver would drive past and start at bus stop 2. It was never the same day to day, park to park, driver to driver. You never knew if you were going to be the first/last/only stop, as all 3 happened multiple times during our stay. Also, there is a direct bus to Blizzard Beach, but not Typhoon Lagoon; for you water park types out there. Overall, Coronado* is my new favorite hotel. The * is for Gran Destino. I would stay there a thousand more times. I think if I had to stay at Coronado Springs proper, I would probably skip it, as everything seems to be situated around the Tower, and the bus only caveat is annoying. It looks like if you were booked in the far out Ranchos/Casitas, you would have a HEFTY walk to things. The busses are worse at Caribbean Beach, but at least you have the Sky Liner there. Lastly, if you're a Disney aficionado, you might not appreciate the EXTREMELY subtle Disney theming. The most you'll get are a few hidden Mickeys. I actually appreciate it. Look: 5 out 5 Location: 3.5 out of 5 (Super close to AK and HS, close to Epcot. MK is a bit of a trip) Food: 3 out of 5 (3 Bridges and Maya are GREAT, Rix is ok, El Mercado is egregious) Transportation: 3 out of 5 Pool: 4 out of 5 (Jaguar slide is long, pool is HUGE. This one is tough. I truly loved this resort the first time I stayed here but this time it was just…read moreok. I did the mobile check-in on the app but when I tried to scan into the parking lot a woman came over the intercom and asked if I had been to my room yet. I had not. She let me know that I'd have to come back to the parking kiosk to check in. I was in the back of a Lyft so I was trying to explain all of this to the driver while I was still confused myself. I think what happened was the parking kiosk attendant was supposed to check me in but they had just waved us on through. Totally fine but no apology from either person, just telling me I'm in the wrong. I checked the app as well to see if it said it somewhere obvious that I missed but I didn't see it. I had a hard time finding my building and room this time. I got turned around every single time I tried to find my room in the Casitas. I don't remember having that problem last time. Last complaint is that the bathroom fan is automatic. It stays on for about 20 minutes any time you walk past it. Makes sense, but it was loud. And, again, I don't remember that from last time. I would definitely just stay in the tower next time to save myself some trouble. The things I loved the most were the super easy bus transportation to the parks and Disney Springs and the variety of restaurants. But those are also something you can find at any Disney resort.

I ordered the avocado breakfast bowl one morning and got a small scoop of avocado. If avocado is in the name, you'd think the serving would at least be significant. Another downside was how slow everyone was in the food court. From ordering your food to receiving your food, to paying for your food, everyone moved so slow. Even when lines were incredibly long, there was no hustle in anyone's movements. When at the checkout it was clear several workers didn't know the computer system (or maybe it was recently updated) because they would be scrolling and scrolling for the item rather than using the search function. Again, no one seemed to care about customer experience. The rooms were pretty basic which was to be expected given this is the budget option for staying on property. They were clean, though, and that was a major plus! Lastly, I wish there were more options for activities or events for adults.

RESORT HOP TO THE POLYNESIAN RESORT…read more We are fans of resort hopping to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Take a mid-day break from Magic Kingdom and ride the Monorail to the Polynesian. Or drop by the Polynesian as part of a no-park day. Our favorite way to experience the Polynesian - and any Disney park or resort - is snacking, Disney style. Without splurging on a hotel stay and pricey table service restaurants (Kona Café, 'Ohana and Wailulu Bar & Grill), we can soak up the kitschy tiki vibes of the Polynesian and satisfy our Disney food cravings. Drop by the Polynesian at any time of the day. Start the morning with iconic Tonga Toast ($10.99) at Capt Cook (quick service eatery). Too early? Then come later for tropical drinks and bites at the infamous Trader Sam's Grog Grotto & Tiki Terrace (the interactive and immersive Grog Grotto is now open to families 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and adults only afterwards). Not into tiki culture? Skip the 'Ohana buffet ($67 adult + $44 child) and enjoy the Happy Hour menu at Tambu Lounge. Savor buffet favorites such as the Chicken Wings ($15) and 'Ohana Bread Pudding without the buffet price tag. Or dine beachside at Wailulu Bar & Grill with tiki torches lighting your way. Not Worth $600-$800/Night -- More Motel Than Deluxe…read more In July 2026 we stayed at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort in a Water View room and were extremely disappointed by the experience for the price. We understand that we were paying a significant premium for the Polynesian's location, theming, and monorail access. But at roughly $600-$800 per night, we still expect a clean, well-maintained and reasonably quiet room. Ours felt much more like an expensive motel room than a luxury resort. Our room was worn, the bathroom had visible brown stains on the walls, towels at the pool were moldy, and nearby construction was extremely disruptive--including noise before 6:30 a.m. one morning. We also paid extra for a Water View room and ended up with a second-floor "Juliet balcony," which isn't actually a balcony you can step onto. Worse, our "Water View" looked directly over the construction area. Paying a premium for a view only to look out at a construction site from an unusable balcony was particularly disappointing. The resort itself was consistently crowded and hectic. After a busy day in the parks, it didn't feel like a relaxing place to come back to. We were similarly underwhelmed by the dining options, particularly given the price and supposed "deluxe" status of the resort. The one real highlight was Trader Sam's, which we loved. But in retrospect, we would have been much happier staying somewhere nicer and more relaxing and simply visiting the Polynesian for Trader Sam's. The Polynesian is iconic and the location is excellent, but nostalgia, theming and a monorail stop can only justify so much of a premium. At $600-$800 a night, the overall experience simply wasn't worth it.

Vaulted thatched ceilings, massive chandeliers made of Maasai shields, a fireplace big enough to roast a wildebeest. The place hums with detail -- every wall, nook, and cranny decorated with authentic African art and artifacts. Not replicas. The real deal. Disney Imagineers partnered with cultural experts to line this place with over 4,000 artifacts, making it part hotel, part museum. If you're a history nut (like me), you could spend hours here before even checking out the pool or the parks. And then there's the savanna view. Step onto your balcony and there it is: giraffes, zebras, ankole cattle, flamingos, wildebeest -- living, breathing animals grazing 50 feet from your morning coffee. Forget rope-dropping Flight of Passage. Just sit here with a drink and watch the wildlife wander past like it's your personal safari. Honestly, you don't even have to go to the parks. The real show is outside your room. The pool? Massive. Gorgeous. On a blazing Florida day, it's paradise. You float with a drink in hand, kids cannonballing around, while thatched roofs and palms sway in the background. It's the rare resort pool that feels as much a destination as the theme parks themselves. The dining? Excellent across the board. The Mara for quick bites, Jiko for upscale African-inspired cuisine, Boma's buffet that could start international negotiations. And yes, zebra domes exist, and yes, they're addictive. Here's the history kicker: Jambo House opened in 2001, designed by architect Peter Dominick (the same guy behind Wilderness Lodge and Grand Californian). It was Disney's boldest hotel gamble -- an African lodge in the middle of Orlando, complete with live animals and one of the largest collections of African art outside the continent itself. More than twenty years later, it hasn't aged a day. Five stars. No hesitation. If you're thinking about Disney Vacation Club, Jambo House is Exhibit A. You could park yourself here for a week, never step foot in Magic Kingdom, and still feel like you had one of the best Disney vacations of your life. It's not just a hotel -- it's a safari, a museum, a pool party, and a cultural immersion wrapped in one. And let's be honest: once you've woken up to giraffes out your window, staying anywhere else feels like Motel 6 with extra steps.

Animal kingdom lodge…read more Stayed here in Feb of 2026. One place that was on check list while staying at Disneyworld. The price is steep as we needed a 2 bed room suite for the 9 of us. We were able to book a DVC (Disney vacation club) room. Total cost of the stay was just under $5000 for a week longs stay. We requested a room closer to elevators or near main lobby as we wanted to keep the grandparents as abled bodied throughout the vacation. The first night they couldn't accommodate us but said the next day they could change our rooms, but by that time we already decided that the walk from lobby wouldn't be to bad. I believe if we were able to get it the first night it would of been better as near the last view days of stay it became a drag to get in and out with an additional 5-9 min walk from lobby to room. Customer service was still excellent throughout the stay. Friendly hi and hellos and the cast members always saying welcome home. Day of arrival we arrived early had stayed in lobby with our luggage as there was no early check in available. I requested early check-in but it was not available. This maybe due to booking a DVC 2 bedroom. Room service to clean room is an up charge when being in a DVC room. However room service was quick when requesting additional linens, trash bags, toiletries, etc. The room we got did not have a direct view of Savana but had plenty of animals around. I would say it was Savana view adjacent. Waking up seeing animals was such a "core memory" unlock for all of us especially the kids. The 2 bed room suite which can be viewed on lots of YouTube videos had 2 full bathrooms, one full kitchen and a kitchenette, 1 full fridge and a mini fridge, 2 fold out couches. I believe some of these rooms are going through renovations/updates. Overall I would recommend staying here, but maybe doing a split stay. Staying at a more affordable resort for a few days than this place for the other days. IE stay here on days with extended hours parks such as Epcot or Magic Kingdom. If I could rate this it would be a 4.5/5, but I'll round up to 5.
