Dr. Tsoi immediately recognized a severe imbalance that Chinese Medicine called yin deficiency that relates to bad blood flow and bad kidney function. We went to 3 days a week, then one day. Sometimes pain relief is immediate, but sometimes it takes time. It took five years to get close to normal health despite continual improvement. For fifteen years, I have only gone once a month or every few months. I have stopped altogether for a few years at times, but my problems start to return. I am fairly sure my underlying condition is incurable, but acupuncture, herbs, and cupping help my body stay balanced despite that. I can even exercise now like a normal person without worrying about injury. Many health problems are probably caused by systemic imbalances that Western medicine can't treat but TCM (and other holistic medicines) can. If you have a chronic problem, give TCM a chance. I have also seen Dr. Chan a number of times over the years, and she is great, too. They have such a deep understanding of TCM. Sure, it makes no sense to Westerners, but it is backed by thousands of years of practice to help the body restore health naturally.
