I live in the neighbourhood have used this Post Office for years. However, this place has declined. The new employees are dishonest and extremely rude. The fee they charged is a much higher than what is listed. It's a real shame that this is the only postal outlet in the neighbourhood. read more

Customer care is non existent. Man was very rude and tried to sell me a Canada Post box for my return and would not even supply tape to secure the label to the package that I had securely wrapped. I want to say that I have been a customer at GRAND BARGAIN Post Office for approximately 10 years. I will say that I have always enjoyed my visits there. Frances and Kenny [who operate the Post Office] have always been Pleasant, Welcoming and Helpful. I will say that I don't understand these negative reviews people have submitted. Every review here touches on at least one frustrating aspect of the interactions I've had at this post office. Every time I miss the delivery of a package, my heart sinks because I know I'm in for a long wait and a maddening experience of trying to get a package. I've had to show multiple forms of ID and prove my address over and over again to get what I need and there's never any politeness or explanation or courtesy to be found. Worst customer service ever, especially the old woman. Not only did she treated me rudely, but she also lectured me on how I did the packaging wrong, and that I don't know how to ship stuff and so on. And when I told her that it wouldn't hurt to provide better customer service to her customers, she went crazy and said to me that "I have no respect for people." Like wow, that's a very exaggerating statement. I do have respect, but only for the people that deserve it. As for her, with her attitudes like that towards customers, I would never be respectful towards her even in a million years. read more

I've been here dozens of times since I have a postal carrier who hates leaving anything larger than an envelope at my front door. For the most part, this is your average frustratingly slow post office: no big deal. But then today happened. I came in to send a pre-paid package (an amazon return). The box was huge. I wasn't able to perfectly get the cardboard flaps to meet, so I'd taped some sturdy packing paper over the thin gap, but had run out of tape before things were ideally secured. No big deal, I thought: I can use some tape at the post office. Done plenty of times before.. and besides, of COURSE a post office would give away the odd packing supply to secure a parcel, right? So it's my turn and I ask for a bit of tape. The employee looks at me blankly and I ask again. She says, "okay, usually that is not free. We charge for that." I said something to the effect of, "you're the only Canada Post outlet I've ever been to that does charges to use tape." Hearing that, she seemed to agree to the tape request, and cut out the smallest pieces of tape possible, leaving the box barely improved. I figured, whatever, it will be fine. When I thank her, she says, "fifty cents please." .....I thought she said USUALLY tape wasn't free. As in, "you only get one free go at the tape, don't go nuts!" I fished around in my wallet and only had my cards, 15cents, and tokens. I told her I only had my visa, half-hoping she would realize this request was absurd and not charge me. She said yes and ran my credit card. AND ADDED TAX. ("Tax"). (Don't you love stores where tax only exists if you don't use cash?). I then received receipt with no indication of my tape payment. If you'd told me ten years ago (or even ten hours ago) that today I would be writing a negative online review of a post office, I would ask you what terrible fate had befallen me in the interim. Surely, life is never so bad that this is what is left to do???!!! And yet, here I am. And here you are. This comes down to principle for me. If any seller or service provider is willing to alienate a customer for such negligible profit... then what are their other professional standards? read more

This is considered an essential service so rather than get upset about them closing earlier than *this* website incorrectly states (the can post website has the store hours posted correctly) - I will commend them on working through a very scary and uncertain time. It can't be easy, so thank you. Sooo, I returned the next day when they were open and the man and woman (husband and wife? Maybe the owners?) were very helpful and sweet to me about something I had done wrong. They've always provided the service I've needed and I'm not here to comment on anyone's character. I'd rather have an authentic interaction than some phoney exchange of niceties. I think sometimes my expectations are too high when it comes to customer service and I think that's what has happened with these reviews. Once I "right size" myself, and get rid of those things expectations - my experience of life and the people in it is a lot more positive. I'd rather be surprised with a kind smile or sincere small talk than expect it. read more

MOST AWFUL, TRULY PAINFUL EXPERIENCE!!! I live in the neighbourhood have used this PO for years. I am a VERY regular customer and they know me there. I even supported their petition many years ago against being closed down. The service has been adequate over the years BUT TODAY!!!!! I went in to have mail forwarded from my mom's address because she just passed away. I followed legal instructions as well as online Canada Post instructions and filled out and paid for everything online, printed out a barcode document & brought all necessary legal docs with the barcode into the PO to finalize the service as per instructions. I was extremely organized and efficient. The woman owner actually CHASTISED me for doing this online rather than at the counter. She said its way more work and more complicated this way and everything will have to be repeated yada yada yada. She was INCREDIBLY RUDE and INSENSITIVE given the situation. Yes, that's right - my mother just passed away ma'am!!! And as a matter of fact, when she finally just shut up and did what she needed to do, it took her less than ONE MINUTE to complete everything. I spent way more time filling out forms online and she spent WAY MORE TIME ADMONISHING ME than it took her to simply complete the transaction. And when she printed out my receipt, she tossed it at me and barked "you're done." HEY! How about a little compassion?????? I suspect she was annoyed at having to do one minute of work the without collecting any revenue from the transaction. Seriously? I am completely flabbergasted by her rudeness and total lack of compassion and empathy. i will NEVER do business in this shop ever again. NEVER. Not the post office, not the convenience store. She has no business dealing with the public with that attitude and should be ashamed of herself!!!!! Unbelievable! read more

In multiple separate occasions from different people, we've all had frustrating experiences with the staff member at the Post Office. I believe the store is run by a Korean family. The father was very courteous. It was the younger Korean woman (daughter?) who was very lippy and had attitude. For example, I placed my ID on the counter w/my packing slip, not realizing she didn't look at the ID. I put it back and when she asked for my ID, I asked "Oh, didn't I already give it to you?" She barked back "NO. You put it on the counter. You did NOT give it to me. That's not the same." Do you really need to give this much attitude? I can go on with other examples, but won't. So beware and hope you'll get the father instead. read more

Family run convenient store and post office. It's where my packages get sent when I'm not home to pick them up. Wait times are sometimes long but manageable. Service is standard for a post office and nothing above and beyond. I prefer to go to the High Park pharmacy post office to do my actual mailing because I find them a tad more helpful. read more

odd to write a review of a post office but... Most of the people who work at this post office are great -they get what you need, understand what you are asking for or ask for clarification, they are courteous...the stuff you'd expect at a post office. Unfortunately there is one person who is often working in the post office section of the store who is very rude. She has charged me more than I needed to pay on more than one occasion. She has argued with me and been very rude when I attempted to clarify and ask a question. She often asks how much the contents of my parcel is worth even though she doesn't need to know that. She continuously tries to push me to pay extra for things that I haven't asked for... If you have a similar experience, please report this to Canada Post. read more

Having this be the local post office, is without a doubt the worst part of living in the Junction. The owners are rude and disorganized, causing a lot of issues each time I am shipping or receiving something. I think reviews are unfair. I have been living in the junction quite a few years and the postal office is no different to many in the city. First of all the junction is a small community and I for once appreciate that we live in a much more relaxed neighbourhood compared to thise downton. Also, yes it can be very slow at times, but I wouldn't say and call it the worst experience in the junction. Mixed bag ofvexperiences in the past - nice older lady - mother? - rude younger lady - daughter? But i thought bearable for convenience's sake.. Over the last few days, however, service (can you call it that?) has sunk to an unprecedented level: i was trying to pick up a parcel a lttle earlier than the time stated on my notification card - had to go to work and thought i could at least give it a shot. There were many parcels stacked up around the counter. The older Korean gentleman - the father i believe - was grumpy from the start. I had smiled, greeted him, explained my situation; he did not even say hello - just stretched out his hand - apparently meaning: "give me your notification!", looked at it - barked "1pm!". I repeatedthat i knew - i had just thought perhaps it was already there - i was on my way to work, etc.... He scanned it grumpily, barked "Not there yet! and thrust the slip back at me. I gestured at all the parcels around the counter that one might have looked at, frowned, and left, not in the best of moods, obviously, but accepting that he was in the right from a purely regulatory point of view. When i went back to pick up my parcel, a day later, it was handed to me in a big plastic bag, the package - Christmas presents for my son from his grandparents - sopping wet and and smelling of urine! This is so sick that i am going to look into not having my post delivered to that office anymore. Somebody has to draw a line somewhere. I believe there were rumours a while back that this location was to be closed - i think that would be better for all involved. read more
