There is a pizza place next door that will deliver upon request. The piano player, Peter, is there on Wednesdays 6-9 and Fridays 6-7:30. He is fantastic! Then at 7:30pm there is karaoke, which is really fun. The wine selection is fabulous and they also have a humidor and seating outside! Excellent atmosphere! They had a customer recently have his book signing event there as well. Prices are reasonable. They have specials daily and dress is casual to dressy. Priced reasonably.

And there are plenty of tables to sit. I think there were some ladies playing the Chinese domino game, it starts with an "m". Got to meet the owner Ray and he picked out a fantastic Cab for me, it was the Story Storypoint Cab out of California. Later I also had the Martin Ray and in my opinion it was not as good, but it was a heavier mouth feel and it had layers to it. They have a piano player Wednesday and Saturday. He shows up around 6pm. So they have free slasa and chips in the back corner most nights. On Tuesday the have tacos. And Tuesday there are meatballs. On Friday they have Karaoke around 7. If you like wine, or you are an enthusiast, this would be a great place to visit if you find yourself in Winter Haven Florida. They have buy one glass 2nd half price. If you buy a bottle and stay, it is a $15 corkage fee. We kind of did the math and depending on the pour, and their pours are generous, it is cheaper to buy by the glass. When you visit they your own math gymnastics. Bottom line, Grape Expectations, the wine is great. The service is exceptionally better. And if you like a mellow vibe with great wine. You won't be disappointed in this stop. Finally, shout out to Terra, between her and Ray we had such a great time. CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK!

I have wanted to go to this yard sale event along the Scenic Highway for a few years now but it is…read morequite a distance from where I live. It required the commitment of leaving my house at 5 AM to make it to the first stop closest to me, Frostproof by 8 AM. This was the year I finally made it. The sale is always held the first Saturday in November and attracts thousands of people. It takes place from 8Am to 3 PM. The sale is sponsored by Ridge Scenic Highway Corridor, Corridor Management Entity, City of Lake Wales, Frostproof Chamber of Commerce, Lake Wales Woman's Club, Lake of the Hills Community Club, Town of Lake Hamilton, Dundee Methodist Church, and the City of Frostproof. These civic, religious, and non profit groups have been working together since 2007 to promote tourism along the Lake Wales Ridge. While you shop at the sale you can also dine at local restaurants and shop at businesses. While I pretty much stuck to the sale it was hard not to get sidetracked by some of the places I have always wanted to visit. I got to see a few on this trip in addition to reaching each of the official sale stops. The sale runs along the Lake Wales Ridge and extends 38.7 miles from its intersection with US 27 S of Frostproof to where it intersects with US 17/92 in Haines City. There are five official locations for the sale. These are downtown Frostproof, Lake Wales at the Woman's Club, Lake of the Hills at the Community Clubhouse, Dundee at the Methodist Church, and Lake Hamilton at the Town Hall grounds. In between the official stops are many other unofficial sales. It would be impossible to stop at every sale in one day. Along the route are a number of cultural and historical sites along with lakes, natural areas, citrus groves, and unique Florida attractions. This was the final stop in Haines City and my first time in the city. Early pioneers planted citrus groves and the town is still associated with citrus today. By the time I made it here the sale was wrapping up at town hall. It was a long day but I am glad got to experience the Scenic Ridge and see so many uniquely Florida places for the first time.

Now saying that is going to also include that this is not exactly the smoothest coaster to ride. They do keep up with frequent maintenance so it can be non operational for stretches. It is currently under refurbishment. But the theming is great and it is a lot of fun for the kids. I will say this is not a plus size friendly ride. Its a classic build so I put my kids on and get 5 minutes to myself. Not a bad trade of really lol

It's a wooden roller coaster and there is a height requirement, 42'' to ride with an adult. It's a fun roller coaster. It feels like a older ride since it's a wooden roller coaster. It sits two people per row. The wait-time varies through-out the day. In the early morning and evening, typically the wait time is less than 5 minutes, however, during the day, the wait time can get up to 60 minutes. I'd recommend riding this ride a few times early morning. It's relatively quick, maybe less than 30 seconds for the entire ride. You'll need to store your items before getting on the ride. The ride has several drops and turns. Your picture is also captured at the end of the ride! You can get a digital photo pass for 2 days, $30.00.

I got an email shortly after booking (to my yelp associated email) asking me to call the office (it was after hours, I called - and someone answered!) - they helped me get the details squared away (I booked at 10am, but they had openings at 9am and 11am available, not 10am) - 11am was even better, so I jumped at that option. It was a little over an hour tour for us (five people total) - but it was great to take in Florida this way - seeing the 13' alligator, and numerous others of varying sizes, and several babies as well, and one of two bald eagles. The caveats are: the earlier you go, the less likely other boats will have scared the alligators away, and the heat can also mess with it (sometimes that means you'll see more alligators, other times, they'll be more concentrated in a certain area). Depending on the time of the year can affect the locations as well, but our Captain was communicable and knowledgeable. But a boat ride in the beautiful Florida sun, flying through is a blast, regardless.
