Plunger Head brand wine. Sure to tantalize your palette and unclog your toilet.

Wine bars aren't just for those snooty types! I'm sorry - I totally jumped to conclusions. Let me start off by saying, I know NOTHING about wine. The "tannins" and all that other jargon ... yeah, no idea. I sometimes mumble that word to sound smart, but I have no idea what it means. When my family wanted to hit up Grape Expectations, I thought, "Oh, HELL NO!" Sure, the name is awesome (props to you, Charles Dickens), but me? At a wine bar? Uh, me and wine bars are like pairing a white wine with steak - IT JUST AIN'T HAPPENING! Ok, so I was wrong. This place was so laid back. They actually had trivia during the day. I love trivia. Again, it's not something I'm good at, but I can play along. Trivia and alcohol is actually not a great combination for me, as I end up shouting out the wrong answers - very loudly and confidently, no less. There were tons of wines to try out - and get this - FOR FREE! You could probably sample wines all day and not even buy a single drink. As an added bonus, they even had complimentary Chex Mix! All in all, what a great little spot. I wish all wine bars could be this welcoming to the everyman like me who knows little to nothing about the sophisticated lifestyle.

Love it! We don't usually out this far, but this wine bar was totally worth it! Amazing selection and the bar tender was great! Small cozy venue, but warm atmosphere, definitely coming back!

We kind of did the math and depending on the pour, and their pours are generous, it is cheaper to buy by the glass.

That's when we came across Sauvage, a Polynesian craft bar & kitchen located in the heart of Winter Haven. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was right--vibrant, tropical, trendy, and fun. And then we spotted two retro arcade games--Mortal Kombat II and Street Fighter Turbo--that guests can play while waiting for their food. Talk about nostalgia! That definitely took us back to our childhoods. Okay, okay... I'm showing our age. Let's get back to the food! The Brunch Sauvage's menu combines Polynesian-inspired cuisine with American favorites and creative twists, which immediately caught our attention. We decided to share two entrées: Duck Confit Benedict Duck confit served over crispy hash browns, topped with poached eggs, hollandaise, and chives. Brunch Scallion Pancake A savory scallion pancake topped with scrambled eggs, cheese, millionaire bacon, island sauce, and sweet Thai chili, served with a side of grits. Both dishes were different, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I especially loved that each entrée came served in its own personalized cast-iron skillet. It made the presentation feel rustic and unique while keeping everything warm. And the portions were perfectly sized for brunch--satisfying without being overwhelmingly heavy. And Then There Was the Cocktail... We couldn't visit a Polynesian craft bar without trying one of their creative cocktails! We went with the Mango Sticky Rice Milk Punch -- made with coconut-washed brandy, mango soju, five-spice, and vanilla. This cocktail was cool, light, fruity, and refreshing, with just enough of that tropical flavor to make it feel like the perfect summer brunch drink. Honestly, I really enjoyed it! Sauvage was such a fun find for our Sunday brunch. Between the tropical atmosphere, creative Polynesian-American menu, unique cocktails, nostalgic arcade games, and beautifully presented food, it was definitely more than just your typical brunch spot. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well-portioned, and thoughtfully presented. And the fact that we discovered it while celebrating a 50th birthday weekend made the experience even better. Would I come back? Absolutely! Next time we're in Winter Haven, we're skipping brunch and coming back for dinner. I'm definitely curious to see what Sauvage is doing with their dinner menu. Sauvage gets a "we'll definitely be back" from us!

There was a beautiful patio area that drew us into the bar after seeing all the great drinks being served. The bar was filled with a trendy ambiance of warm candles, books and cool original art pieces with a nice vibe of upscale patrons. We sat in a corner nook with a beautiful foot locker as our table covered with magazines. A lovely bubbly server immediately brought us menus and introduced us to the restaurant that was filled with well dressed mostly female patrons surrounding the L shaped bar. Signature Sangrias are the go to drinks and I ordered the Kumquat Sangria that uses locally sourced Kumquats for a special one of a kind citrus based Sangria. Definitely a must try drink that comes with an optional kick of Southern Comfort on the side. My wife got the Very Berry Sangria that came filled with fruit and included chop sticks for eating the fruit. A Great Drink as well. The bathrooms were also worth a visit to see the library books and fulfill a fantasy ;-} we will definitely be returning for the next Friday Fest and our new central Florida favorite bar.

The menu we were giving only had a handful of beers as an example and the waiters inform us that there are many more beers than what's on the menu. I can only imagine the same may go for other cocktails and wines.

Our server Tammy was LOVELY - so attentive (even being so busy), great recommendations and really just a delight to have as a server. We all chose a variety of things, but I had the mushroom and truffle ravioli as a starter that was very good. I could tell the pasta was made in house. My boyfriend had the spinach gnocchi that was fantastic!!! I was jealous I didn't order it lol. He got the prime rib, that he said was good. I have the prime filet that was good, but I wish the chimichurri on top had a little bit more flavor. We were bummed we couldn't order the espresso martini tower for my mother in law, but understood it would have been a huge stressor on the bar staff. We did order a few espresso martinis à la carte and they were fantastic! Definitely made with fresh espresso. Lastly, the crème brulee came out flaming and was absolutely the best I've ever had! We were really enjoying ourselves, but I wish I took more photos. We really enjoyed the experience and look forward to coming back for dinner one day!

I was immediately greeted by the hostess. I explained that it was my first time and she was kind enough to make some menu recommendations. Since it was early we were promptly seating. We took the stairs to our table upstairs. We were seated near a wall and the bar. I waiter promptly came over to greet us. I wanted to try a few things but the brunch menu was sort of limited. I opted for crispy Mac & cheese bites, french toast, and breakfast croissant sandwich. The mac & cheese bites were crispy but could have used a little more seasoning and a little more cheese filling. The French toast was 2 pieces of toast with maple syrup and fruit. I opted to leave the fruit off with the current health concerns with raw food. It would have been nice to have been offered a substitute but I wasn't so I paid $18 for 2 pieces of French toast. I feel like the French toast would have been a better choice if it was accompanied with choice of, chicken sausage or regular sausage and eggs. That would have made a more complete brunch. The French toast was ok but could have used a little more flavor (ie cinnamon, vanilla, etc). The syrup was a very good grade of maple syrup and tasted so good. I did add 2 eggs for $6. Lastly had the breakfast croissant sandwich with grits. The sandwich was good I did substitute the regular sausage for chicken sausage. The chicken sausage was delicious. I was very pleased with the grits they were so good. Overall, the portions are small especially for the price. The restaurant is in a prime location, right in the center of Disney Springs and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. I would like to return for lunch or dinner in the cooler months so I may dine on the second floor patio over looking Disney Springs.

The wine was lightly sweet and not dry. The blueberry flatbread tasted more of the caramelized onions and the blueberry drizzle added a little hint of sweetness and tartness. My favorite though was the blueberry shortcake. It was soft and the blueberry compote was absolutely delicious. Although it was rich, it didn't feel heavy. I wish I had gotten another slice.
