I have walked by the store many times but I always miss their opening hours. I was lucky enough that the owner Celeste was still in the store after hours and she had let us in to shop while you reorganized inventory. Their main consignment space is for plus size clothing, but they also have a great selection of size 0 to 14 clothes on the second floor as well. Celeste has a great inventory of clothes at a great price. When I was there she had a sale for 50% off all merchandise except for formal wear. The quality of the clothing is mostly good and above but there are some pieces that require some work to be done. Overall this is a great consignment store to shop for clothing. I had seen a cute purse in the window.. walked past a few times and then decided I wanted the purse... I walked in and was immediately asaulted by a very musty stench... the store itself is also very cluttered and disorganized! I smiled at the lady behind the counter and tried saying hello, but she's completely ignored me.. I walked around and browsed a bit and again tried to get the store clerks attention... still nothing... when I was walking out the door I tried to say goodbye and all I got was an eye roll---the lady at the till/front of store said something to another customer about me being in the wrong place anyway because I wouldn't fit any of their clothes (I'm a size 4-5). --I was never paid for my sold items. --They lost my unsold jewelry. --The company's system used to track consignment contracts would never keep my updated contact info. I called and updated my info at least 4 times, but the system would override the information. As a result, I never received updates, including the fact that the business was sold to a new owner. --Soon after the business was sold, the company's system (the digital record of my contract) "broke down" and they lost all of my info. I have a (truncated) paper copy. --I've been lied to for months (since September 2016) about when my contract was complete ("we have a new policy", "that was never our policy", "your contract has finished", "your contract won't finish for another 3 months." I understand that before my contract expired, the business was sold to a new owner and the transition can create problems. But it's unacceptable to be lied to for months and never be paid for my belongings. This company essentially stole from me. read more

WOW! This place was fantastic! I have been off ill and gained a few pounds and didn`t want to look sloppy so I decided to check this place out after looking up plus sized clothing stores in the Vancouver area. I was super stoked when I walked in and saw that they carry size 10 and up. I had never had the experience of a consignmnet store before and it`s almost as heavenly as Sephora. Well this location anyway. I was able to pick up 2 two piece suits, 3 shirts and a pair of capris (ok more like mid calf pants on me) for about $150 dollars!!! I am in my early 30s and VERY picky about what I will buy so you can guarantee they aren't old lady clothes. It is a mix of clothing there so any age will find something they like there. What surprised the sales ladies the most is that I am also a power shopper and was able to buy it all, with trying it all on, in under 40 minutes. The change rooms are a delight and what made it all easier is that if you don't fit the items you first find and need to go take another boo at the clothes rack, they offer a silk robe that buttons up, that you can walk around the store in so that you don't have to get all the way back into your clothes, just to take them off again. All in all, this is the best consignment/second hand store I have ever been in. read more

Grande Central Consignment is a fabulous store. The sales staff are very friendly and helpful. Being that I am in my early forties, I am concerned that I find items that are stylish and age appropriate for myself and I have found many items in the last two years which keeps me coming back throughout the year especially when am a person whose weight fluctates throughout the year. I will go in the store with a budget and will be pleasantly surprized at the amount of lovely items I can walk out in one shopping trip. I have also lucked out on finding a few jewellry pieces and a couple of handbags to complete the look. Awful Awful AWFUL. This place is horrendous to deal with. When I inquired about my consigned items, the owner Celeste had no idea what I was talking about. It was very strange and I couldn't understand what the problem was. It was as if she had no idea I had even consigned the items. ?? Then after MANY (like 10) confusing and frustrating emails, she finally figured out what I was talking about. But she couldn't find my items. I found this very strange as I've consigned items at least 6 other places and never have they not been able to find my items when the contact was over. But I figured I would take her at her word. Eventually (a few months later!) she contacted me and said my items were ready to be picked up and I could come anytime. So I went to pick them up the next day. She told me she (again) couldn't find them! It was so incredibly bizarre; I felt like I was being punked. Like, where were the cameras? But no, this was really happening. She was apologetic and said she would contact me when she found them. Another month or so went by, so I contacted her and she said she still had not found them. At this point, I was very irritated. ANOTHER few months went by and I emailed her saying that I wanted to be paid for my items that she had obviously lost and I felt this was extremely rude and unprofessional. And then, lo and behold, my items showed up. So my husband went and picked them up, over a year after they were initially consigned! One of the necklaces she returned is missing its pendant and the clasp is broken! And there was no itemized list of what sold and what didn't, so I have no idea if I got all my stuff back or not. To make matters worse, Celeste acted as if this is par for the course, saying that I needed to understand that they had hundreds of consignors and some other nonsense excuses that barely made sense. I've consigned at many places, and they never have issues like this! This is all her. PLEASE save yourself the headache and do not consign here. They are horribly unprofessional and ill-prepared to be running a business. read more

I am so disappointed in the changes in the store since the new owners took over. The store used to be very choosy in what they sold and how they displayed their goods. It was a boutique layout with bargain prices. Now it looks like a bad thrift store: a chair absolutely mounded with clothes, cardboard boxes with a jumble of shoes, garbage bags of clothes lying on the floor. But the prices are definitely not thrift store prices. A dated London Fog jacket (covered in animal hair) for $85? I don't think so. I miss the old store. read more

My experience very closely matched earlier reviews from Katie and Genevieve. I never received an item list as promised and had to finally request one. After 4 months and only a few things sold, I tried on many occasions to come in to get paid and retrieve my remaining items. Celeste eventually said she could not do that as it was too time consuming to pull the items from the floor. Mid summer after more requests, I received some items back but was told there were likely some missing which there were and more than she indicated. Luckily I kept very good records and was able to ascertain what was sold, returned and missing. This whole thing became a laborious process that took over 13 months and during this time only 8 items were sold, 9 returned and 7 were identified as missing and probably stolen. I settled with the owner and for the 7 missing items I received $19.20 (she initially offered $9.60). One of these items was a jacket with a retail value of $275 that she had priced at $55.00. I received rock bottom prices for every item and there is no way to prove what she even actually sold them for. I wish I had just donated to a charity and saved myself the hassle for the few measly dollars I received. It seems like this was once a great store but that seems to have changed with new ownership. read more

I have been shopping here for years and enjoyed the experience. However that is no longer the case. It is a long drive in from Langley, so I am waiting and waiting for the anticipated call to bring in my 60 items. Of course, they tell me that they will not take them all in one shot, so I have to make two trips. I also find the present staff to be aloof and cold towards customers. They reject many items, but I think they should consider that some large size ladies would rather wear something that may be a bit outdated but in their limited budget. You are the only plus size consignment store in the lower mainland, maybe that is why they think they can do anything and we will be fine with it!! read more

Great store, excellent quality, loads of new or nearly new. I rarely go into this store and not come out with something that looks great and usually for less than $20. I've remade my whole wardrobe here and try to stop in at least once every week or 2. Definitely my favourite clothing store. read more

I've shopped here once and the clothing was ok, although some overpriced. The prices go down as time passes and on some pieces you feel as if you want to wait, but then never go back. However, to get items to them, they only work by appoitment. They did not even call me back when I first called them. I called again 2 weeks later. I have about 6 pairs of brand new, never worn shoes, all from England in wide width about a size 7.5. They will also only take seasonal. Its mid Feb, yes, and I have one pair of sandles in the mix, but I would think people would buy ahead when they see something like this in a consignmnet store. So they want me to come in multiple times (I live 30 min away) as opposed to just taking it all in at once. These are shoes that you cannot even get in Canada and our wide widths are a joke, which is why I order online. I will sell them on Craiglist. Seems they don't want product or my business. read more

The service has changed since the original owner sold the store in 2010. Hopefully the new owners take note and try to re-create that welcoming feeling that we, as customers, used to always get when shopping at Grand Central. read more

I am right there with the other ladies that were BEYOND unsatisfied with their experience at Grand Central Consignment. I too have been given the run around by the new owner...which btw since taking over has turned the store into an un-inviting space that is bursting at the seams with so much clothes you cant even move it on the racks to check out what's for sale. I dropped off a Louis Vuitton bag, Italian Leather boots, a sequin beaded jacket....all $$$. When I went into the store to ask about payment she couldn't find the original consignment slip, when I asked for the items back as I had a bad feeling I was getting the run around..She could not find the items but informed me that she would pay me a fair price for the items...when my contract was up I was given a cheque for $61.00!! I confronted her that I didn't feel she was being forthright about my items and that they were certainly more valuable than $61.00. At that point I was so frustrated I cut my losses and left.....Worst experience ever...Such a dodgy operation!! read more
