I'm kind of shocked to see the negative reviews here. I've had nothing but great experiences having made several purchases over the years and had appliances repaired as well. Prices were always competitive and they deliver expert service and, in one case, over the top great. When my old dryer wouldn't spin and the problem was identified to be a failed door switch which, unfortunately, had been discontinued and was no longer available, that meant my dryer was dead in the water. The service tech wouldn't hardwire the switch so the dryer can operate, but he showed me how to, which saved me from buying a new dryer. That was 3 years ago. The same dryer died again a week ago, but this time I decided to replace it because it needed too many new parts. The new GE dryer was delivered and installed for a very good price. Grand Central was given a warranty repair for microwave oven. After a month I called for an update...waiting on parts. After another month I got the same reply. Over the next five months my calls were not returned. At the seven month point I still did not get a reply so I ordered the part myself and replaced it. I got it in two days. Two weeks later I get a call and was told that they had my part five months ago but were waiting on an unrelated part. They totally blamed GE for not supplying an unnecessary part. I recommend doing business elsewhere for appliances. read more

Used to be a good place to go. From my last purchase I now realize it's not anymore. The employees are pleasant to get you to make a purchase, but once your purchase is delivered your on your own. No customer service anymore. My next major purchase will be with Lowes or Home Depot. read more

My mother and I bought a washer and dryer replaced our 14 year old second freezer from Grand Central. They came at about the same time, three years ago. The apartment size stackable washer and dryer required at least seven service calls and we had made many laundromat runs because of the inconvenience of not having a washer and dryer working. One of servicemen who came out to fix the washer and dryer broke a shelf while trying to fix the washer-dryer. I can say one of the sons came out to fix or repair the shelf after the repairman broke it so that was honorable. When they first delivered it we had new floors put in and the new floors were torn up somewhat. They told me it was my fault even though I explain to them that the floors were going in the day before.We bought the extended warranty and I've had to use it several times. After the 18 months of warranty on the freezer, which we've never had to use. The freezer being three years old, DIED! No warranty, no acceptable measures from Grand Central and now we are spending another five to $600 to replace a three-year-old freezer. We always try our best to shop local, We will not use this facility again. Sadly, I recommend you research carefully before you use Grand Central appliance. The store felt safe and covid precautions were taken. The saleswoman that helped us was wonderful. We shopped around at other furniture stores and came back to EFO bc we had such a great experience. However, we paid in full for our furniture and were given a tentative delivery date (we were told within 2-3 weeks but the date was not specific) which was ok by us bc we understand things are taking longer due to covid. When my husband called after 2 weeks to request a more specific date, we were told "I have no idea when your furniture will be here." The furniture then came about 2 weeks later, but we are still waiting on a sofa that was paid for with the rest of the furniture on August 6 and still on Sept 10, the store has no idea when the sofa will be here. I don't understand how a product that was paid for, can't be tracked. It's very unprofessional. The whole experience in store was great, so this is disappointing. I would be much more understanding about possible delays that are happening if someone could give us a rough idea of when the furniture will come. To say "I have no idea when it's coming and I have no way to find out" is completely ridiculous. But hey good for them, they got a sale. read more

Always buy my large appliances and furniture here. The quality and price are superb! My living room furniture, I had specially made two couches so the lot # of the material matched. I have had several positive comments how comfortable they are... granted they were expensive, but well worth the money! I would recommend this store thumbs up! read more

I am writing this review for a few reasons, first most people won't take there time to rate a local family owned company for the great job they do only for a situation gone bad. I am local born and raised hazleton guy that my family has been purchasing from Grand central for years. We have always been taken care of when we shopped there. Always had received fair prices and the guys there seem to always know what they are talking about. Also they helped us out big time thanksgiving two years ago when our stove died and we had family coming, they got us a stove we loved the night before thanksgiving on a days notice! We needed a new washer and dryer, and an appliance repairman offered 3 different brands that he felt were the best out there. After researching all 3, I picked Speed Queen. I looked all over for the best prices and found that they were all pretty much the same, local, out-of-town, and online. So we went local. Thank goodness!! Walking into Grand Central, we headed right for the appliances and found the Speed Queens right away. A salesman, Justyn, came right over and asked if we needed help. I told him what I was looking for and that I wanted Speed Queen. He immediately started to talk to me about the machines. I loved that he didn't try to "sell" something else or offer other suggestions. I knew that's what I wanted, and he totally respected that. We purchased the machines we wanted in less than 15 minutes. We were extremely lucky to get delivery on the same day! About 4 hours later, our washing machine and dryer was delivered by the most diligent, professional and nicest individuals. They were very efficient, considering they had to take our old set out and bring the new ones in up and down a flight of stairs. They set everything up for us and made sure the machines were working correctly. They, too, were very knowledgeable about the machines. Overall, an absolutely EXCELLENT experience. Way over priced with minimal selection. Nice staff , no pressure but just too pricey.

Stopped by today in need of a couch. Was greeted warmly by Justyn who listened to our wish list and guided us to all they had to offer. This was the most relaxing furniture purchase we ever made. We were in and out quickly thanks to the service given by all the employees. Pricing was great and the quality is excellent. From the moment we entered the store until the help loading our purchase we were treated with great service. We definitely will be back! read more

I will never voluntarily call this company to repair any appliances. GE sent them to fix my washer. The man spent less than 15 minutes looking at my washer let it run for less than five. He dismissed everything I said and in spite of the fact I had put baking soda under the washer the last time I ran it to see where the water was from said it was from the sewer backing up. From the wall six inches out was dry the pipe was against the wall. He told GE it wasn't my washer in spite of no other water on that side of the room. Tried for over an hour after he left to reach someone but couldn't. His parting comment when leaving was leave the washer out some on the next load and I will find out he's right, if he is wrong just call GE again. Well he was wrong i knew it less than 15 minutes after he left when running a load. Never again completely unpleasant and incompetent and condescending. read more
