Yep, I'm still a member here. I've been doing better about showing up at least once a month to enjoy a tasting with a friend or two. I joined the cheese club for about a year and a half but I was the only member I ended up canceling because I could just buy the cheese when I wanted it Carruth Solana Beach has fun events throughout the week. I know they're set days and the calendar but I like to be excited surprised every time I go so I never know what I'm getting into. There is trivia night which is free. I don't officially play, but I quietly play. They have food vendors coming in. All local usually pizza or cheese or something fun. The staff has changed over a bit over the years. Everybody is so friendly and makes it feel like a neighborhood hang out spot other than the wine that warm feeling is my favorite part about coming here. We asked for it a little crispy, and parts of it were really sort of burnt, but 100% would order again, hold the ask for a "little crispy" next time lol. The ambiance here was nice, it is dog friendly so there were several dogs lounging around and hanging out, the tasting room has both a nice indoor bar area, with table seating all around, as well as a pretty decent sized outdoor area that has shade cover and lots of tables. Since I previously placed this review, I visited this winery and my opinion changed. The wines I previously tasted don't do justice to their full menu of delicious wines. The winery charges $25/person to taste 6 wines but they waive fee if you buy at least one wine. The pours to taste the wines are generous pours. You'll end up buying more than one bottle I guarantee it. The tasting room is located inside a warehouse building in front of their front office lobby. The staff is very personable and welcoming. Yesterday I was driving southbound from Orange County and decided now would be the time to stop in for a member glass. We got here about 15 minutes before last call. Last call is 30 minutes before closing time. There were some people over at the Brewery. Nobody was at the Winery. I got my glass and have a seat there's tons of comfortable leather couch seating. There are high tops and low top tables and a huge outdoor space. This seems like such an amazing place to hang out with a group of friends This was a quick stop in. (You can also grab charcuterie items from their fridge.) For your non-wine friends they have slushies. The tasting room is licensed for children as well. I believe they have sodas in the fridge you can purchase for the youngsters. The best thing about this place is that every Sunday there's a music open mic featuring local singers and artists from 6-9. The host, local legend Raynaldo Martine, will play along with artists or let them go solo. The list is always fair, and the hosts respect the amount of time artists spend in the venue. Overall, this is a place where you can enjoy some high-end craft wine and excellent entertainment. They have other entertainment lined up other days, so call ahead to find out what's going on.
