Smallish tasting room but biggish flavors. The beers I tried were interesting and delicious. I'm a big fan of flights, especially if you are unfamiliar with the beers. Here, you can get up to five different beers in one flight although you don't have to get all five. I tried one lighter one (2 AM Tacos--Mexican lager) and it was refreshing and delicious. I also tried four heavier, more alcoholic ones: Black's Peach (sour ale--it was sour indeed), Drink This or the Bees Die (Golden Honey--not bad), Sasquack (Belgian--very good), and St. Alfonsos (Imperial Stout at 12.8 ABV--this one was absolutely outstanding but better have a designated driver with you). This place is kid friendly and definitely dog friendly. In fact, there were probably more dogs than humans during our visit and I'm not complaining. Dogs are better than people, as we know. This was on a Friday night and the place was absolutely slammed, which was nice to see. No food available but you can bring in your own grub. Good luck with parking--either free street or residential parking are your only options. Excellent addition to Leucadia. This is a good spot. read more

Cute brewery on a cute street with lots of other bars, restaurants etc. I came on a weekend evening with a few friends and it wasn't very crowded. Inside was spacious and clean. I enjoyed the vibe and the quirkiness of the duck themed menu. The beer was great, in particular I enjoyed the one with a honey after taste (I'm forgetting the name, but I think it's pretty obvious which one this is when you read the menu.) I love their open-&-airy space, with inside and outside seating -- and in our case, we had the best of both worlds (sitting inside on barstools at their outside-facing counters) allowing one to enjoy the comfort of sitting indoors, feeling the fresh air, as well as people-watching! In addition, I love the fun-&-creative names and variety of tasting options (5, 10, and 16 oz., as well as 32 and 64 oz. to go). Ordering a flight of five 5 oz. pours was attractively served in a nice tray, appreciatively labeled, and lined up from lightest to darkest. Decent spot for beer. Half the menu is filled with IPAs and the rest for everyone else's taste. My favorite beer was their golden honey. The rest were solid but nothing that really stood out. Second time there. First time was fine. Today our server was just a buzzkill with plenty of attitude. We ordered two trays of samplers. When we ordered, they guy just stared at us offering zero assitance. Not knowing if a sampler was preset or custom (there is no menu), we simply asked if he could make some suggestions for us. He seemed annoyed that we didn't know what beers to choose. Perhaps there is a difference of opinion as to what "sample" means. I don't see this guy working a vineyard in Napa or Sonoma in his future. He just looked like he was angry to be there and annoyed we were asking for him to give us advise on what to sample. And to add insult to injury, the beer was nearly room temperature. We just looked at each other and said "Nearly half a bill for these two sets of nearly room temp beer tray samplers and a buzzkill bartender... should just driven further south on coast. There are other places with colder beers, better vibe, and greeted with a smile. " That said, the buzzkill's counter part seemed nice. She asked if we needed anything. But by then we were on our way out. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but our experience at this bar was so shockingly bad, I feel like people deserve a heads-up. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was unwelcoming. The host didn't greet us--just asked for our IDs with a tone that made it clear we weren't exactly wanted there. No smile, no hello, just a cold, disinterested attitude that set the tone for the rest of the night. After finally getting a table, it took way too long for someone to take our drink orders. When the server came over, they barely said a word, and it honestly felt like we were inconveniencing them by just being there. No effort to be friendly or even professional--just straight-up rude. But the worst part of the night? One of my friends accidentally spilled a drink on the floor. It wasn't a big deal--we all reacted quickly and were ready to help clean it up. But instead of offering assistance or even checking in to see if everything was okay, one of the staff tossed us a towel--literally threw it over--without a word and walked away. No offer to help, no apology, no replacement drink, nothing. We were left to clean the floor ourselves while the staff watched and acted like it wasn't their job to deal with it. There was no food being served, so drinks were all they had to get right--and they couldn't even do that. Ours were poorly made and not worth the price at all. Combine that with the cold, dismissive attitude from the staff and the fact that we were made to clean up an accident like we worked there? Absolutely unacceptable. We left feeling disrespected and completely unwelcome. This place seriously needs to rethink its idea of customer service. Until then, don't waste your time or money here. There are plenty of bars in the city that know how to treat people with basic decency--this just isn't one of them. read more

Big ole selection of merch as well as board games to choose from as you're enjoying your beer. We opted to sit outside; it sometimes got a wee bit loud as it's a main street, but it was still a nice environment. read more

Whether you're looking to attend Thursday night trivia, grab drinks with friends, or just grab a more casual drink for date night, Duck Foot is the place to be. Every server and staff member we have met has been nothing but kind and friendly, matching the ethos of the neighborhood more broadly. The beer itself is DELICIOUS. Some of our favorites include the Kook Slams IPA and The Looker Blonde Ale. All Duck Foot beers are gluten reduced, and both my husband and I notice that we feel much better after drinking a Kook Slams (or two!) compared to other, gluten-heavy beers. We love Duck Foot so much that we even included their beers in our wedding welcome bags, and the Duck Foot team was a joy to work with during the ordering process.
