This place was awful! They quoted me one final price after insurance and then handed me a huge bill at the end. I requested my records, which by Illinois law, they could had to release, and they would not provide. I submitted several forms to release them to me and they ignored my requests. I went to their facility once and requested my records again and they asked me to fill out the form again and said they would send my records via mail. They did not want to release my records to me because I told them I planned on taking them and going to get the job finished at another dentist office. They were extremely rude and dismissive. They told me all these lies made a plan to remove the rest of my teeth add posts and I would have a top set of clip in teeth over $25,000 later and I am left with one post because they had to remove one that ended up growing into my gums and nothing but top temporary dentures that are painful, never fit right, and now I rarely leave the house, haven't eaten anywhere but at home because the teeth don't stay in I don't wear them unless I have to leave the house and they are so painful. Found out this office creates dental plans and does work that is not needed. Get a second opinion. We were told my son needed 4 cavities filled; I got a second opinion, and he didn't have any cavities. They took a tooth of mine out when it didn't need to be taken out. I wanted to share my experience with anybody who might experience the same thing that I went through. It is now 2021 and I'm still suffering what this office has caused me and my life. Back in 2009 I came in from the abscess tooth, I was put on anabiotic's but the dentist decided to open up the tooth anyways, it ended up exploding with infection, I had 45 pus pockets and I had to have three surgeries to save my life, I almost lost my life because this office. Now here 2021 I have to have two teeth pulled because the previous infection and all of the scar tissue inside of my cheek and my nose bleeds all the time from all of the scar tissue. please don't come here I am suffering so much. The dentist MARK also visited me in the hospital and he didn't even give me a sorry I think he was just worried that I was going to sue him but now looking back I wish I would have sued this office. read more

They made the transition effortless and made us feel so welcome! I like most people have extreme dental anxiety, and do not like going to the dentist, but Me and my family actually look forward (as much as one can) to our visits. Had to get a filling the other day, completely painless, had Dr. Hare...love him , explained everything made sure I was numbed up, did not feel the shot at all ! I really loved this place when I first started going. The employees are very friendly, but thats about the only good thing I can say. Years ago, I went in for tooth pain. After an X-ray exam was done, I was told the tooth was infected , and they recommended I get a root canal immediately (that same day). I asked the dental assistant ... "well shouldn't I first take some antibiotics and wait until the infection clears up?" The dental assistant said the orthodontist was there and she would go speak with him to see if he had time to treat me that same day. She came back 10 minutes later and said " The orthodontist said the tooth is a "hot spot" meaning infected, and that we needed to wait until the infection went down." Mind you, I have no knowledge of dentistry, it just seemed like common sense to wait for an infection to clear up with antiobiotics before a surgical procedure. So I didnt understand why she would suggest surgery that day knowing it was infected. That should have been a big red flag but I regrettably continued to go there. Against my better judgement, I ended up going in to get the root canal done, after finishing the antibiotics, by Dr. Mark. Within less than 3 years, the root canal went completely bad. It turned black along my gum line, and the crown literally just fell out while eating a sandwich. I went back and was told that it was 'completely normal" for a root canal to go bad in that length of time. I looked it up and it says root canals should last minimum 10-15 years. I asked if I could receive some kind of discount to get it fixed since it went bad so fast, and was told no. Not only did that root canal go bad, I was also told after receiving an X-ray that I now had abscesses under THREE of the nearby teeth, and would have to have 2 more molars extracted and get implants, which totaled to a cost of roughly $14,000. I already have extreme anxiety about going to the dentist and these experiences made it SO much worse. I have also heard many stories from other locals in my town who have had similar and even worse negative experiences with this dentist office. I regret ever going here. If i had done more research of reviews, and went to a different dentist I could have avoided a bad root canal that caused even worse dental issues . If youre looking to get any kind of serious dental work done, I highly suggest doing your research and finding a good dentist who doesn't value profit over patient health. read more

Been here 3 hours to get my girlfriends tooth pulled and it's still not done with little to no communication. If you are having trouble admitting you can't do it is perfectly fine just don't keep someone half of the day!!! Should have followed our instinct and went and got a 2nd opinion!!!!!!!!!! Well I have insurance...it's not great but who has great dental these days. The main issue that I have with Grand Dental is that they say something is important and covered but that's not 100% true. Being applied to your deductible and covered are two different things. So just be specific about what is covered...how often...etc....or you might get a $300 bill. Happened to me twice so we will not be going back. Dr. Mark was great, so was Leslie, they are great with the kids but I have to honor my word and take our six mouths somewhere else. read more

Eight appointments to replace one crown. Three impressions to get it right. Two different temporary crowns, one fell off. Three different times the crown was dropped down my throat and luckily I was able to cough it up. No explanation or apology offered. The dentist was not gentle and the way he gave shots was painful. I will start with I am not a fan of going to the dentist, but everyone at Grand Dental makes me feel more relaxed and they always check on how I'm doing during procedures. Dr. Brandon and Dr. Paige are both great and take the time to talk about what they are doing. On another note the hygienists are fantastic! Hands down, the BEST dental experience I've ever had. And that's saying a lot as I have a pretty severe dentist phobia - cry like a little girl type of fear. I usually have a massive panic attack at every dental visit and have to proactively take a Xanax but not here. ALL of the staff are friendly and welcoming and I instantly "clicked" with the dentist and the assistant. Although I know I need a lot of work done on my teeth, they are not overwhelming me with the treatment plan. I am so glad I decided to give them a chance!! read more

As a potential first time client (me and my family) we were pleased to find a dentist so close to home that accepted our insurance. That excitement soon ended after making our first phone call. Absolutely love the this place! Dr Paige is fabulous and I've never had any complaints about the hygienists or assistants. I've had my regular cleanings and a couple crowns and just love the work. My husband was experiencing sever tooth pain and we went to our normal dentist. He prescribed some pain meds and antibiotics and sent us on our way. After a week of my husband being in excruciating pain and 2 hospital visits we decided to call up Grand Dental. I called around 10 this morning and was able to make an appointment at 2:30 the same day! We arrived and were very impressed by the facility, it was super clean and the staff was extremely pleasant. They took us back on time, took an X-ray of his cracked tooth where the pain was coming from. Dr. Kathy came in and advised that we should pull the cracked tooth as well as the wisdom tooth that was next too it that had a slight crack as well. Dr. Mark who was getting ready to leave the office for the day stayed longer to remove the teeth for my husband. He was very funny and put him to ease by cracking some VERY funny jokes. He made sure the gums around the teeth were numb and extracted them. Dr. Marks himself called my husband this evening to make sure that he was doing good and to ensure he wasn't having any problems (major props to him for the personal touch,we were completely shocked that he had called to follow up and appreciated it more than you can imagine). For the first time in a week my husband is going to be able to sleep because he is no longer in pain. We will also be switching dentists after today for the entire family. I have been going to the same dentist since I had teeth and I am more than thrilled to begin using Dr. Marks as our family dentist. Thank you sooo much! You have earned our business. read more

My husband was referred here by a co worker with the same dental insurance. I also had a printed out paper that listed Grand Dental as in network. When I made the appt, I stated I was a referral from the co worker and gave my insurance information. It turns out they don't check insurance information before doing dental work. The print out I had was incorrect, so I got a bill for over $200 for just a cleaning and x-rays (and this is after they billed my insurance since they charge $200 over the allowed amount). My advice is not to allow them to do any work on you without them guaranteeing that they checked your insurance and that the dental work is covered. My old dentist did this automatically, but this office is happy to charge you the full amount instead of checking if your insurance covers something. read more

Same poor business practice as very first review. Came in to have a tooth fixed and they examined me and immediately had a plan to fix my tooth and said they checked with the insurance and provided me with the cost out of pocket. As soon as I was done that day, billing pulled me aside and told me that the insurance was not going to cover it and I would be responsible for the almost $700 more over the original out of pocket amount. I would never recommend anyone to go here, I almost died in 2009 because I needed a root canal and he started to work on it the next day my entire face was swollen and i had puss coming out of my eye and I was put into the hospital 2 weeks with 2 different surgeries I had 45 puss pockets that needed removed after malpractice I almost died. I am terrified of the dentist I went back in to give the dentist another chance because before i almost lost my life, and I was so scared I couldn't go through with it my feelings weren't event considered I would at least some thoughtful feelings or being treated nicely but NO I was told never to call the emergency line or come back to the office!!!!!! read more

Worst dental experience ever! I went in with a broken tooth. They did X Rays, numbed my mouth, THEN had the office manager come in and tell me in order to move forward with the root canal, they needed $600 up front. I have dental insurance, and if they needed payment, they certainly should have advised BEFORE numbing me. Once the procedure was underway, the dentist stopped my root canal THREE TIMES to go see other patients because his schedule was backed up, all while my mouth is being painfully forced open with a bite block due to my severe TMJ. I was originally advised this procedure should take about an hour. It took 2.5 hours due to all the interruptions. Today I am in a substantial amount of pain not only from the root canal, but from my jaw being forced open for such a prolonged period of time! The next day (today) the incredibly rude front desk staff just called to tell me they feel a senior dentist would be more qualified to finish my root canal, so now the rest of my procedure has been delayed 3 weeks! I am appalled at how this office treats patients. It was a miserable experience start to finish and the thought of going back to the this practice gives me extreme anxiety. I wouldn't recommend Grand Dental to my worst enemy. read more
