Well, I private messaged and emailed one such photographer and she never even bothered to respond! Discouraged, I turned to my old friend Yelp, and Ashley Blake caught my eye. Great reviews, nice looking photos- and wouldn't you know, she responded within the hour. From that point on everything was wonderful. Ashley does a great job communicating with you. I paid a partial deposit and we worked out a meeting spot and photo location. Ashley comes prepared with all of her equipment, and an artistic eye for nice backdrops. Asking an 18 year old boy to pose for an hour is a tall order, but she's so friendly and chill my son complied! We had a rare cold snap the day before our appointment and Ashley gave me the choice to reschedule if I preferred. While I've never used her in a professional capacity, Karen did a portrait photo shoot for me as a gift for my husband. And due to the fact that I am not well, there were not only issues with timing and alloted time I was "on my game" so to speak, but the effects of many medications and the fact that time is drawing to a close was written all over my face. Not a pretty picture ... Pardon the pun. Karen not only was beyond remarkable in her kindness and generosity as well as empathy and compassion and patience! She finished my portrait after my delays due to illness which never ruffled her and begging for retouching so my husband would remember me in a "much improved version". The final portrait was done in such a way that I neither looked "plastic" nor as unwell as I presently was, but in the best version of "me" ... and we were both so pleased. To tears . Karen was human, light-hearted and professional giving great direction. Her final presentation was top shelf, and from a professional stand point, her technique, styling, and execution were top notch. The heart and soul shown through. In both of us ... And I gained a dear friend in the bargain as well. You won't regret your choice. I promise!
