However, there was a change of management during our application process and although we were approved they would not uphold the original move in date despite a written confirmation from the leasing agent and verbal confirmation from the manager. On July 9th, we applied for an apartment and requested a move in date of Nov 1. The leasing agent (Tricia) requested that we move in October 2015 instead due to maintenance issues, and we complied. Cheryl from the complex called back July 20th stating they would no longer honor the move in date THEY requested, and instead asked if we would move in September. When we pointed out the variances in dates, she asked to call us back. In the next conversation she said she spoke to her management and they could only hold the apartment for 1 week (not Oct as agreed NOR Sept as was offered) and tried to push us towards leasing other apartments well over the original price we were quoted. We instead requested our full deposit back as we were eligible for it due to a clause on the application which states the apartments have 7 days to provide approval. I just wanted to provide this info for anyone looking at this complex.

The staff is unprofessional, rude and just out right vindictive mean people. Don't bother calling the corporate office because the apartment manager and the person over the property at corporate are sisters so they will always side with each other. They done fix anything dogs roam the property and leave crap everywhere. Multiple cars have been broken into on the propwrty and they have done nothing outsiders are constantly in the pool without pool passes. They market it as a gated community yet the gate hasn't worked in 4 years if not longer and the min u give them and hint of discontent or try and point out he absurdity of things they try and evict you. The office staff was friendly, the location was a big plus, and the pricing felt fair for the area. Honestly, didn't have too much negative things to say throughout our time. That said, things took a very frustrating turn not too long after I moved out when we were emailed and charged $411 to replace the stovetop. That caught us completely off guard. The both of us were actually were extra careful throughout, especially since we saw reviews mentioning similar charges prior to us moving in. Yet, we believed the two of us would be extremely diligent and be able to avoid the bill. However, we still ended up with the bill, which was disappointing. We enjoyed our time here and really wanted to give them 5 stars, but the move-out experience definitely left a bit of a sour note. There are plenty of good options nearby when you're looking for your future home, so it's worth reading reviews to pick a spot that you won't regret. Good luck on the search!

Via las colinas is probably 1 of the worst places I've ever rented from in my life, the high price…read morerange and to be forced to live with roaches, nobody should be forced to live like that, and I mean roaches literally living In the appliances. I took videos first day and turned on the move in paper (that somehow now has mysteriously vanished now that I've moved out and they're trying to charge me for an obviously old stove). On top of them forcing me to pay for a ESA animal (iam a 100% disabled vet) because I informed them that the 3rd party screeners wanted a ROI (release of information) to approve it and nobody in their right mind would agree to that if they knew what that actually means. When I informed them they basically told me they knew it was illegal but oh well if I don't do it I'll automatically be denied so I was forced to pay a $400 non refundable fee and a $250 refundable fee and $20 a month for my ESA (money hungry right). I always paid my rent on time and never had any issues or complaints. Upon moving out I asked to do a walk through with them and they refused and sent out a email saying "it will take 2 weeks to get to the apartment because of a high influx of people moving out" (hmmmm) I moved out on the 26th they did a walk though on the before or on July 2nd. I didn't get a email till July 11th stating that I'd be getting a portion of the security deposit but minus $410 to replace a glass top stove (I remind you was not new or even "like new" THERE WERE ROACHES LIVING IN IT that I reported even have video of) nothing was wrong with the stove outside of normal wear and tear but they had already purchased the top and charged me. So when I asked if I can come look at the damage they claimed the job had already been done but the part had not even reached them (i was able to obtain the tracking number for it) PLEASE do not trust these crooks and don't live somewhere that would force you to live with roaches then charge you for the inconvenience.

They don't answer calls at the office. I'm writing my testimony just to let you know that first the employees hug you and then they take your money one way or another. They made my life impossible when I left, just because I wanted everything new when I didn't receive it new. I have emails showing it wasn't ready when I moved in, and even so, they wanted me to turn it in as new for $200 in repairs, which they sent to my credit. I always paid faithfully. Everything is about collecting money from people to fix other apartments with my money. And I speak with evidence--when they see this email, I LOVE speaking with proof. I work in this business, and I would never be like those women. You tell if I left it with bad conditions. Maintenance staff so bad it put my life in danger. Avoid at…read moreall costs. MAINTENANCE Their maintenance staff is dangerously incompetent, and I'm not exaggerating. My heat unit was pumping some kind of chemical-smelling gas into my apartment in large quantity. I specifically told the maintenance staff NOT to turn on the heat or, if they had to, to open all the doors and windows. Instead, they turned the heat on and LEFT IT ON for 6 hours while my wife & I were out of the house. The apartment was so toxic when we got home that being inside just long enough to turn off the heat and open the windows (took about 90 seconds) made us light-headed and gave us headaches. The maintenance staff are ALWAYS like this. With everything. Do not rent here if you value your life & health. Also, 90% of the time, they don't tell you that something has been fixed, what was wrong with it, or why it went wrong. You just get a notification saying that the work order has been marked as "complete" (which they sometimes do before the problem has even been fixed). It also took them 4 months to replace a broken window blind. A/C & HEAT My A/C or heat has also been out roughly every 3 months because their machines are old and falling apart, but they refuse to update them. It's better for their bottom line if they just let your unit stop working for a few days every 3 months. GATES At least one of the gates is broken 75% of the time. The speedbumps they've just installed at the gates are insanely high. Can't go over 3mph without shaking your car to pieces. Have fun entering and exiting the complex a few times a day at the speed of a snail. It's utterly mysterious why they even decided to have gates in the first place -- now it's backfired since they're always broken and the felt the need to install a mountainous set of DOUBLE speedbumps to protect the gates. LAUNDRY ROOMS There was the smell of a dead racoon permeating their laundry building for 8 months before anything was done about it because they never do any maintenance on those rooms. Before the dead racoon in the rafters, there was biohazardous, slimy, smelly water standing in one of the machines for about a year that it took me half a dozen trips to the front office to get them to do anything about. If half of the machines are operational at any given time, you've gotten lucky. POOLS The pools are closed half the time they're supposed to be open. There's no notification when they close or when they reopen, you just have to guess. Good luck. WATER FEATURES The "stream" behind my apartment is stagnant and breeds mosquitos. It also smells funny on hot days. They installed a janky white PVC pipe randomly sticking out of the ground pouring water into the "stream" to try to fix this, I presume. It did not work. Because it's just a random PVC pipe sticking out of the ground, it just looks like they're draining sewage into the "stream". Extremely unattractive. DECKING If you have a 3rd or 4th floor deck in the back of your apartment, be ready for the heads of nails to be sticking up about an inch everywhere. Do not go on your deck without shoes -- you will get a hole punched in your foot. The nails have been painted over (without getting fixed) so they're especially hard to see & avoid. BOTTOM LINE Absolutely do not rent from here. Nearly everything is terrible, broken, janky, or unreliable.
