The service that I needed wasn't available. The staff was very rude. She was very confrontational when I asked about the services. She had an argument with my grandmother and my sister. My sister was there to bury her ex boyfriend. This lady was so mean that we left. We came back later that night and we were ghost hunting. My grandmother drove and the lady wasn't there. The funeral home grounds are supposed to be open 24 hours a day 365 days a year. So we were surprised when she drove up to my grandma's car and stayed there til we arrived back. She called the cops on us and we had to leave. Ps. She claimed there were stop signs on the property, however we didn't see them. So please inform her that her attitude needs to change. She works in customer service so her attitude should be friendly, responsible and respectful. None of which she showed me she has in her body. read more

This place is the absolute worst place to go. After dealing with the loss of my mother who had a pre-planned burial they managed to still screw things up. We never dealt with the same person twice. Each time we had to re-explain everything became the new person didn't know what was going on or couldn't find our file. To top all things off they never ordered the grave marker saying they didn't have the order and we hadn't paid for it so my mother basically is going months and months without a grave marker that we thought had already been ordered. When I called to check on it the person who ordered it, he was no longer with the funeral home and of course they claimed to not have the artwork or payment. Save you and your familu anymore grief and go some Uodate:more than 2 weeks later and still no one returning a call. Where to begin... Well, we were sold two spots in a standing mausoleum that belong to someone else. When they realized the mistake.... they called and said they made a mistake and could we come down to see them! We said no! They needed to come to our house! It was an awkward conversation! It ended up costing us more money! They charge you for every little thing that they can. To open one of the spots in the niche...(that was not the one we wanted). 500.00$. To put my dad in a niche! To remove a couple of screws.... place him inside! 500.00$ They take advantage of you as soon as you walk in the door! My aunt recently passed away. It cost 14,500.00$ to bury her! Casket, put her in it, close the casket, dig a hole, put the casket in the hole (500.00$ to just do that) No funeral! No embalming! Just the burial! 14,500.00$ Please think before you go here! Their are other places. Niday! It is right down the road on Fairmont and they don't suck every last penny out of your wallet! Our family really appreciates the attention they have given to my great grandparents. My folks came from Hungary and Lomax is where they settled having the family farm. Their eternal resting place is here at Grand View , the staff has been very accommodating in keeping a peaceful and well maintained grounds for us to visit our loved ones. read more

Our experience after the death of our beloved sister and mother was less (much less) than favorable. Price for the package (top of the line) for creamation and interring ashes in a prepaid plot was a little short of $20K! The atmosphere was one of walking into a used car lot--closest i can describe it. "We can deduct this service, but unless you buy this package, you are going to be paying more and getting less." Or words to that effect. Needless to say, we went with another funeral home where we were treated as genuinely wanting to help rather than "What is your budget?" And, I will add, for a fraction (on the low side) of Grandview's price--for the same services. read more

The circumstances that brought us here were unimaginable. My 15 year old daughter lost her battle with depression. Our funeral director, Tina Markovich, was exceptional. So understanding and accommodating. She went out of her way to help us as much as possible. She even cared about our well being. My husband and I plan to make our funeral arrangements with them in the future so we have that sorted when the time comes. read more

These people lack communication! Once they got your money they drop you like a hot potato. They will have someone call you back. Still waiting. I had to keep calling to ask about death certificates cause they never call to say they finally came in. At first it was we're waiting on Dr to sign death certificates. Then the guy told my husband to call the Dr. office to get them to sign it. Sorry man but we don't get paid to due your job. Finally got paper worked signed and it would be available in a week. Nope had to go up there and wait for a response. Lady came down to give them to us and was Told the day they were going to do it and should have her back Friday. We'll still waiting. This funeral home does not even deserve 1 star We were told my Mom wasn't cremated as we thought and was not even at the service....then 20 days after her death she still has not been cremated....that must be why they are not able even today to give us her ashes...The funeral director Eric Matula is insensitive to our family during this horrible time. He lies and when you do finally get to speak with him he is very rude, but you have to call over and over again because he does not return calls. Lisa and Thomas were invaluable to my family during our time of need. I lost my 19 year old son unexpectedly and was not prepared for the amount of work that is required to plan a funeral service. My father passed away a few weeks ago. We had Grandview pick him up from our home the day of his passing and made an appointment to meet with them to discuss arrangements. Cassie, one of the managers, was the one who met with us to discuss the funeral plans. Now, there are two sides to the funeral planning. The cemetery side that takes care of which plot you want, if you want a side by side burial for you and your spouse, etc. and the funeral service side that takes care of the service, transportation of the loved one, the casket, and so on. Both sides charge you based on what you choose and then tally up their totals at the end. When we met Cassie and Mr. Bailey (the cemetery side of things) for the first time, we were told that 100% of the money was due that day...on a Sunday. We were shocked to hear there wasn't much give on this, especially being that a large chunk of money is involved that we don't typically carry around in our back pocket. My mother explained that no banks are open and that she would have to call my dad's insurance company the next business day to release the funds to help pay for the cost anyway. Cassie, having no choice, agreed. Some of my family is in the business of sales and commission and it was very apparent that Cassie was 100% business. That put my family on edge. It was like being at a used car dealership. Mr.Bailey agreed to meet with us on Tuesday to go over his side of the arrangements. My mother let Cassie know which insurance company she had and Cassie said she knew of the insurance company and that they do sometimes take a while. The insurance company did take a while to process, even after my mother called them and told them what Cassie needed to proceed. Tuesday morning, we met with Mr. Bailey and paid the final balance for his side. He was slow to speak and very sympathetic towards my family (perhaps to make up for Cassie's lack of sympathy the other day). Mr. Bailey even drove us out to see the site where he was to be placed. Once we returned from seeing the burial site, Mr. Bailey left and Cassie entered the room. Cassie went over the final balances with my mother and let her know what it was costing on her side. Apparently, by the time of the meeting, the insurance company still had not released the life insurance. Then, Cassie had the nerve to tell my mother that all the balances we were paying did not guarantee my father's burial on the day we chose (the only day that was open that week). First of all, it was NOT my mother's fault that the insurance company takes time. Secondly, how dare you threaten my devastated mother with a possibility of no resting place for my father! Way to kick her while she's down! My mother did everything Cassie asked of her. I could not believe what I heard. Then I though, so...why are we paying you?? After that terrible meeting, my mother went home and called the insurance company once more. She explained to her that is they do not get the money released, her husband could not be buried. And of course, the insurance company called Cassie right away. The funeral was beautiful and the staff that were there that helped us with transport were very kind and sympathetic. The ONLY thing that made this a miserable experience was Cassie. I understand that this is your job and you have to make money too, but you chose this job. You should have some people skills. read more
