The staff is caring and kind, and very responsive. The director, Fran, is so knowledgable and very helpful. It is welcoming, clean, and well cared for. The apartments are bright and there is room to bring your own furniture, etc., so it feels like home. They offer comprehensive care, meals, laundry, lots of activities, and help with daily living tasks. I sleep better knowing that my mother is getting the care she needs 24/7.

My mother in law moved into The Lexington over a year ago. She is 102, almost 103 now and this was…read morea huge decision for the family. We had moved her to Ventura from Hawaii. She had lived on her own in Hawaii until age 100 and we knew assisted living would be a hard sell as she is fiercely independent. After interviewing many options around town we decided that The Lexington would be the best fit for her. She loves it and we could not be happier with the care and attention she receives! Many of the staff have been there for years and that speaks so well for the facility. In addition it means the residents wants and needs are well known to them and each resident experiences the benefit of personalized attention. The dining room with 3 meals a day provides the opportunity for frequent socialization. The courtyard area is lovely and numerous "socials' and get togethers are planned regularly by the staff. There are a multitude of other activities such as bingo, movies, arts and crafts, exercise sessions, music and Lexington bus outings available. In this time of COVID 19 they have continued with the finest care while still providing a safe environment for the residents. I cannot recommend The Lexington highly enough. Thanks to everyone there. The facilities are great and include a movie theater, a restaurant, a beauty salon, a nice gym, an art room, a little dog area, and a pub. The activities offered are eclectic and fun, too: cards, wine tastings, art classes, yoga, daily walks in the neighborhood, movies, and trips to places like gardens, museums, and restaurants. The residents are super nice, too and there is a real sense of community. Things that could be better: the menu is supposed to change every three months, but they have had the same menu for the last six months and the food gets monotonous. Also, only one door (the front door) opens automatically. For older people, many who have mobility issues, it is often difficult for them to get in and out of the doors. Finally, when my folks moved in they were told that the fees wouldn't go up more than 3% a year, but the rise in prices is more like 6%.
