On Saturday, August 28th, I received three calls from the veterinary staff stating that my dog was experiencing GI issues. I was told that the veterinarian performed a physical examination and found blood and pus in his stool. They recommended antibiotics, probiotics, and a special GI diet, with the treatment estimated to cost approximately $300 or more. I declined the treatment and immediately had a family member pick him up. The very next day, we noticed that my dog was whimpering and constantly scratching. When we examined his body with a flashlight, we discovered what appeared to be a massive amount of fleas. When I contacted Wheatfield Animal Hospital to express my concerns, the employee who answered the phone was very nonchalant, dismissive, and initially unwilling to help. She placed me on hold and then returned to the phone, stating that she could not assist me because my dog did not have an up-to-date physical on file. I reminded her that my dog had a physical just three days before arriving for boarding and that all necessary paperwork had been provided. I also reminded her that their veterinarian had performed another physical examination on him that Saturday. Once I brought this to her attention, she suddenly stated, "Oh, sorry, I didn't see the update in the computer," and told me that I could come in and pick up flea medication. However, when I arrived, I was told that I would have to pay $80 for the medication. I was extremely disappointed that, after my dog was boarded at their facility and came home with what appeared to be a severe flea infestation, I was expected to pay for the treatment myself. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with my overall experience. What makes this situation even more upsetting is that no one ever followed up to ask how my dog was doing after all of these concerns were brought to their attention. This is supposed to be a place that vows to love and care for your pets, but based on my personal experience, I would strongly encourage pet owners to Run--and run fast. I would not recommend Wheat field Animal Hospital for your pets ‼

The vet that euthanized my dog DID NOT give her the injection to put her to sleep before giving her the injection to stop her heart. When she was injected with the medication that stopped her heart she was fully conscious and alert. When the injection was given to stop her heart she screamed loudly in pain and howled and looked me directly in the eyes before she collapsed. That scream has haunted me for 12 long years!!

She had said that my dog was in congestive heart failure and that he had fluid buildup so we had to do a lot of test/x rays which I would do anything for my dogs. We did all the test and surprise no he was not if fact she had no clue what she was talking about and couldn't really give me a diagnosis. She was rude, uncaring, unprofessional and really nasty. I never want to be in the same room with this vet ever.. but my fault I thought I booked w my regular vet. Can I just add that the staff at the front desk are always wonderful, kind and caring. stay away from this doctor.. I ended up leaving w/meds for a cough. How do you tell someone their dog is in congestive heart failure and leave w/meds for a cough?????
