The GrandScapes team just completed a full month's worth of work on our property. The process began with initial design, optimal suggestions, and options. The schematics were detailed and thorough (Peter/Liz) and encompassed exactly what we requested. From initial earthmoving (substantial), rubble removal and ground prep (equipment operator John), to design execution, implementation, planting and finish work (Todd/ Jeff), GrandScapes exceeded our expectations throughout the month-long partnership. Work included new custom walkways, custom water features, 5000+ sq feet of new lawn, new plantings, etc. Field Manager Mark was always plugged in and guided all of the key design work. The collective follow- through, attentiveness and attention to detail by the entire GrandScapes team puts them in a class by themselves. poor quality of trees, one died. calling since May now September still tree not replaced. company not responsive to repeated calls. stopped by store twice. Finally got a call saying they will be here September 13. Still no tree so discussed with this company. read more

Peter was just great to work with, he came out to out house and suggested great plants to create privacy and we actually picked out our trees with him like we do with a Christmas tree. Peter suggested a design and paver outlined with a border and was very affordable. Mark and his crew are great, polite, nice to chat with and the quality of the work was amazing. I stopped by GrandScapes after seeing their sign for wreaths. I happened to get there on the first day they were making wreaths, so there weren't a lot to choose from. The staff led me back to the greenhouse where they were designing and creating wreaths and made me one to my specifications! I wanted pinecones and they literally went out and cut some pinecones off one of their trees to put on my wreath, it was so cool! The wreath is beautiful, the service was unbeatable, and they didn't charge me extra for my bespoke design...I can't recommend them enough for their wreaths!!! read more

Peter installed a new paver patio on the rear of my new construction in Sept 2020. At the time I wanted a outdoor shower and he explained how he could install a sort of french drain putting gravel under the pavers, and leaving a bit of a gap in the pavers to allow the water to get thru to the gravel. Install went great. I did not install the enclosure for the shower until the following summer. Shortly after moving in the outer pavers fell away from the patio. Peter came out and fixed promptly. Prior to the shower ever being used, over the winter of 2020-2021 the pavers over what was the shower drain collapsed. Peter eventually came out and fixed it, telling me at the time that it was my builders fault, not his due to the builder not back filling well enough. Installed enclosure summer of 2021 and have been using the shower ever since, working great. Beginning of this summer I noticed the water was pooling up when showering. Next thing water was not pooling, but draining away completely, and the pavers outside my rear slider were sinking. Stopped using the shower immediately. This was beginning of June 2024. I have left 7-8 messages for Peter with his office. Asked if he was getting the messages, they claim he got every one. Eventually got him cell # and left him a message there. To date, 8/26 when I am writing this, NOT a single call from Peter. After doing some digging I have spoken to others who have used him and learning this is par for the course with Peter. I am not looking for a free fix, but need to get it fixed at bare minimum for safety reasons. And I would like to be able to use my shower again. Horrible customer service.... read more

We hired Grandscapes to hard scape our driveway, create a new walkway and demo and rebuild new front steps. We were extremely pleased with the outcome of these projects. They were completed in the projected timeline and budget. We were very impressed with the project manager Mark and the owner Peter Grandin and also the professionalism of their staff. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the future as their masons are very knowledgeable and they communicate their ideas and decisions very clearly. Comically unprofessional, or it would be comical if they weren't so rude. Premises also appeared extremely dirty and generally unkempt. Shocking that these people (read: animals) are even capable of mailing us an invoice, never mind outwardly harassing us to pay for work that was not completed. We've already contacted our lawyer. read more

I called several companies, GrandScapes being one of them, to do clean up and a cut after the recent storm. Someone from GrandScapes showed up the next morning early and said he could do it, possibly that week as they left time in their schedule for such jobs. Wouldn't give an estimate so that's a little sketchy. I was just grateful that they were coming as I haven't been well. Three weeks later I am still getting the runaround from them. The girl you speak to when you call couldn't be less invested in her job. "They may be able to do you this week". Meanwhile my yard looks like a field. I called today to cancel and tell them not to bother coming, if they were at all. I called someone else and they just arrived to do the job! Stay away from GrandScapes. read more

I see a lot of negative reviews and hope all of that is behind them, because our experience was quite the opposite (and I am very particular). We had Grandscapes do masonry and planting for us. Specifically, I can't speak highly enough of the mason and his work. Everyone was knowledgeable and polite. Peter and his team listened to our suggestions and preferences, and made the preferred changes (even though it resulted in some extra work). The plants they brought us are beautiful and are establishing themselves quite nicely. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is a couple of the plants were unlabeled, so we aren't sure of the species (I said I was particular). Lastly, the work was done during the time of COVID, and everyone associated with Grandscapes was careful to wear a mask and keep an appropriate distance when engaging with us. read more

I called Grandscapes about a very large landscaping project over a month ago. I met with Eileen from the company and we walked the site and I gave her a design to work from. This project included walkways, many plant beds, trees and shrubs. She had promised an estimate and plan for the work within a week. After many emails and a follow up phone call, I received an email from her stating they could not do the work. Ummm isn't that what you guys do?!? And you couldn't have told me this a month ago when we first met? Based on the other reviews here, it looks like we dodged a bullet. read more

I called Grandscapes to give me a quote to clean my gardens prior to all my perennials breaking ground. The came to price the job and gave me a quote promptly. I repeatedly called and left messages asking them to call me to book the garden cleaning. They never called back. I resorted to Craigs List and found a person to do the work for much less money. read more

Grandscapes has done multiple projects at my house. Pete and his crew installed a front walk with under side lighting(which is awesome), a fire pit and large patio area. His workers were polite, friendly and very professional. Last week they built a stone wall on the perimeter of my property which really gives the yard true South County charm! the price was reasonable and they work was completed quickly and professionally. Grandscapes also does my mowing, trimming, pruning and garden beds. My yard has never looked better thanks to Grandscapes. I hired Peter Grandin to install top quality sod from our local sod field at my home late last fall. When Peter and I discussed whether or not it was the right time and was it too late in season he assured me that he had installed lawns at this time in the past and had fantastic results. Grandscapes installed the sod progressively over the course of a number of days and at times did so in wet weather. The team made dents and indentations into the supposedly properly graded soil, stepped off the job because of rain and never rolled the sod into place to close the seams. What I am left with is actually a hazardous lawn to walk over with crabgrass growing into the places that were never properly brought together. In addition, one area of the yard was to be seeded with the same exact seed as the sod and Peters crew put down ryegrass and only upon my insistence did they add the proper seed into that ryegrass mix. This was to be only the exact seed as the sod. Consequently what I have is a very unsightly seeded area with very little grass. When I repeatedly approached Peter Grandin to fix this work and do a proper job I was continuously put off and in the end told that he had much larger jobs to attend to. I would NEVER recommend Grandscapes. I am left with a $7,000 disaster that needs to be completely redone which he never made himself accountable for. read more

Horrible service. Charged me $4100.00 for 30 yards of top soil and hydroseed. The area of hydro seeding was small. I was encouraged to hydro seed in November. I was hesitant because of the late date but was guaranteed Peter would come back in the spring to hydro seed bare spots. I have plenty of bare spots and Peter refuses to take my calls. He has now blocked my phone number. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with GrandScapes. I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General of RI read more

Grandsapes installed a front walkway and guaranteed the work. When a portion of the walkway settled a year later I called them. They came out and repaired the dip. They stood behind their work. I will use them again. read more

We hired Grandscapes to provide a landscape design to include all the planting, walkways, patio and fire pit. Everyone from the owner to the masons, and all work crews did an excellent job. We couldn't be happier with all of their workmanship and attention to detail. I hired Grandscapes last spring to do quite a bit of work in my yard. At first, they were great, coming to the house to discuss the plans, plants, shrubs, etc. The planting went well until we neared the end of the job, then everything fell apart. There were 12 small plants that were not delivered, 8 small plants and shrubs that were dying, a Hinoki Cypress that was dying, and the "focal point" plant in front of the house never arrived. I called Grandscapes once a week for 3 or 4 weeks and never got through to the owner nor did he return my call. Finally a woman from Grandscapes (I got the impression that she was part of the office staff) and a young helper showed up with some of the missing plants and planted them in no particular order. I called her attention to the other plants and shrubs that were dying and she said she would tell the owner. I began calling again, once a week for a few weeks, and was put through to Chris who clearly had little idea of what to say to me. He told me that due to the drought last spring (I watered the plants faithfully every day or every other day) and the gypsy moth caterpillars, some plants were likely to die. I told Chris that the caterpillars eat the leaves but do not harm the roots of the plants, but Chris was sticking to his story. He said he would come out to prune the Hinoki Cypress (to try to save it) but Grandscapes' work is guaranteed for only 3 months. I did eventually receive reimbursement for 1 plant that was beyond dead. Someone came to the house (I wasn't home) with the "focal point" plant and planted it. It was a plant of which I already have 3 in the yard, am not particularly fond of, and will grow to be a large shrub, thereby blocking the front window. The Cypress was not trimmed, and only one of the shrubs that had died was replaced. After calling Grandscapes numerous times -- again -- I was put through to Chris who again only reiterated his practiced explanation for the dying plants but offered to have the owner get back to me. I knew this wasn't going to happen and told Chris, "thanks, but no thanks." I'm not sure where the business owner/customer relationship broke down, but it certainly did. I'm very disappointed in Grandscapes and would NOT recommend them. read more

Horrible service. They did our driveway and driveway circle. The drive design was completely flawed and the cobblestone work on the circular drive was way too tight for our car to get around it ... let alone a garbage truck. We asked multiple times for them to correct their flawed design / shoddy workmanship ... they never did it. 6 months later and the entire driveway needs to be redone. read more
