The property is only a couple of acres in size and has a gravel lane that runs around the perimeter on the property also sits a well-made pagoda like structure that is dedicated to some previous church members. The cemetery is well laid out in family plots and is well taken care of, even the headstones appear to have been cleaned. The majority of the graves are from the 20th century but there are a handful of recent additions. This is referred to as a church graveyard, however, there is no church on or next to the property. The two most notable names found throughout the property are Almquist and Johnson. There appears to still be additional space for interments and a photo included in this review has the information you need in case you wish to inquire.

It is remarkably well organized and tended to with a gravel road running through some entrances. On the north end of the property you'll find the older gravemarkers from the late 1800s and early 20th century. All of these older headstones have been well cleaned, cared for and restored. Most of the family plots here are covered in P gravel with concrete borders. I found 8 Texas historical signs (there might be more!) relating to the cemetery and some of its notable occupants. To be honest, I have never seen so many Texas historical signs in a cemetery, there's a lot of history in the folks buried here. At the south end of the property are the newer interments including a covered area for a memorial. On the far south side, there is still quite a number of acres available for future interments in case you're interested. The 10 photos included don't even begin to capture the scope of this amazing piece of property. If you're a Texas history buff this would be a good place to stop.

This is an active cemetery with thousands of interments the most recent of which was September 2022, the time of this writing. Much of the cemetery is devoted to vertical headstones, but on the other side all the headstones are flush to the ground. There is a nice paved road that runs through the cemetery and all the headstones are neatly lined up and orderly. There are a number of headstones from the late 1800s but the vast majority are from the 20th century and later. After walking the grounds I could find no Texas historical plaque. There are some new homes being erected less than a mile away (Brooklands subdivision). The one thing that was noticeable about the cemetery is the fact that it has been well cared for and many of the headstones have been cleaned. There is also a Texas historical sign with some great information concerning this cemetery (pictured). The cemetery that sits on about 1 to 2 acres on a gently rolling hill with a fenced perimeter. The majority of the graves are from the mid1800s on up and there are a couple of newer graves, one is from 2021. Like many of the cemeteries from this time period, sadly many of the graves are those of children. Within the space you'll see some historical names, such as Hutto. This is definitely a cemetery worth visiting if you're into such things, however, I'd recommend an off-road vehicle to get to it. After publishing this I realized that Yelp maps got the location wrong. The location is almost 2 miles away from where they say it is. You actually have to take County Road 163 until it dead ends at the cemetery which is nothing more than a single lane dirt road. I believe that Google maps has the better location.

There are some headstones from the late 1800s, but the majority of them date from the 20th century. The cemetery sits on 1-2 acres just off County Road 401 and is flanked on three sides with farmland containing horses and cows. Many of the graves have German names and the older ones have German writing on them. The predominant names that I spotted here were Bittner and Krueger. Sadly many of the older graves are dedicated to infants and children. The photos in this review spell out the rest of the story.

There are quite few graves from the early part of the 20th century, but there are some new decedents interred here as recently as 2022. The cemetery itself is more or less the size of 1 acre and surrounded with a 5' perimeter fence. This space has been well cared for and many family members keep it looking colorful with their tributes. There is still some space for future interments, but not much. It's a nice place to visit in a peaceful environment.

At the entrance closest to H-E-B you'll find a very detailed layout of the cemetery which will provide you with lots of information. The entire cemetery seems to have a randomly laid out pattern of headstones and markers with some family plots, but mostly just individual markers. Many headstones found here are cast in concrete instead of granite. As the sign at the entrance points out, there are many unmarked graves as well which are primarily former slaves and other African-Americans. Most of the graves have long since been forgotten about, but there are still quite a number of newer graves that are well tended by family members. The grounds are mowed, but there are quite a number of headstones in a state of disrepair. There is no Texas historical sign on the property but for more information check out the photo of the map below.

This cemetery would've been out in the country not too long ago, but progress has finally…read moresurrounded this cemetery. It is surrounded on all sides by new apartments and businesses and a car dealership. Fortunately a landscaping company has been overseeing the conditions and there are many old growth live oaks providing much shade. There is a short driveway on which to park on, but no road running through it and it is surrounded by a 4 foot perimeter fence. The cemetery is about an acre, perhaps larger in size. The majority of the graves found here date from the late 1800s and the newest ones I could find was a WW1 sevice member buried here in 1975. There was also another WWII service member buried here in 1993 whose picture is included in this review. Some of these gravemarkers actually tell some interesting stories as are pictured below in the review. There are freed slaves and American native Indians buried here. And like a lot of cemeteries from this time period, there are several infants and young children found interred here. Boatright is a recognizable historicle name found here and more Boatrights can be found at the Oak Grove cemetery 5 miles away on Spicewood Springs Rd. There is a small rocky memorial wall which is dedicated to all the lost and unidentifiable graves. Judging by the lack of any burials past the 1990s, I think it's safe to assume this is no longer an active cemetery. If you enjoy walking through old cemeteries, this landmark should be added to your list.
