I do not take time out to make reviews, but I feel this time is warranted. Dr. Hunter is an amazing…read moreperson and phenomenal vet, especially with cats! She is a "cat person" so if you know you know, and has taken on my cat's ER case even though I still live in San Antonio. (I am in the process of moving to the Lumberton/Beaumont area) My sister recommended me to Dr. Hunter's clinic and her in particular. From the onset service has been amazing! | started communicating with a lady there named Ashley Blevins who was so very sweet, patient, and kind. Anything I emailed to her she gave to Dr. Hunter for review and was never ugly or rude. She sounds like she always has a smile on her face, which is definitely how you want your staff to be, especially on the phone. So shout out to Ashley too! When I had my first appointment there, the front office was very clean, presentable, and organized. The reception staff was on point and I was quickly in a room. The techs were efficient and not afraid of my cat like SO. MANY. OTHERS. ARE. Honestly the AHA credited snooty clinic I was referred to here in San Antonio seems to think my cat has the plague and none of my pets have had true physical exams, temps taken etc. Upon meeting Dr. Hunter I knew I would immediately like her. She came in bubbly, fast talking and confidant ( which is how all the women in my family are) and I was at ease as if I were speaking with one of my sisters. She did a full physical while discussing my pets case all while my pet growled and hissed, but that didn't phase Dr. Hunter! She has even gone so far above and beyond to still correspond with me via email and text through the main line at work on the weekends when the clinic is not open. I have never been more valued as a pet parent and grateful for a vet with true bedside manners. I'm so grateful for Dr. Hunter and her clinic, and this will be the place for my cats as long as they live. We are home!

If there were a negative in front of the rating it still wouldn't be enough. They performed…read moresurgery for my granddaughters dog. An everyday spay. Got her home she was ok but in noticeable pain. Administered the pain med they sent home with her. Within 1.5 hours she had died!!!!!! They simply apologized via the phone the next morning. That evening they stated their nearest location for emergencies was located in Lake Charles. I went to speak with the vet the next day, she stated everything went accordingly but she did have a cyst in her ovary that had ruptured but it should t have caused death .The dog was having very labored breathing Nd was in a lot of pain!! I know money won't bring her back. But, this vet clinic charged $600.00 to spay a pet that died the next day. I cannot tell you how unhappy and completely mortified we are by this clinic. I suggest you bring your pet ANYWHERE else but here!!!!!!!!!!

This has been my go-to veterinarian for a LONG time. Dr. Read always takes care of my Carly. He is…read morefriendly, honest, and patient. The same goes across the board for his entire staff. They never leave me waiting long and Carly is always happy to see them. They are her family too! The prices are decent and they even have a way to get your medicine shipped to you! How convenient!

I NEVER thought I would be writing this type of review, but here we are. The first problem I ran…read moreinto was lack of communication. I've been dealing with this vet since I was in middle school, I am now in my late twenties; I've NEVER had any problems previously... so for me to get to the point of having to relocate my fur baby to a different veterinarian, is HIGHLY disappointing. My contact information has been the same - I would get reminder emails all the time. At some point the emails stopped, but I took it as my baby wasn't due for any shots. After a while, the length of time became concerning so I contacted the office. I find out she's overdue for shots; they have my email, never attempted to contact. I gave them my new phone number the last time my baby had shots... they never updated the number. An easy fix though, so I didn't make an issue of it. When I got her in for her appointment, I let the young lady at the front desk know about my fur baby having frequent loose bowel movements & vomiting. We still cannot go to the back with the vet to see what's going on, so I had to trust that my message was properly relayed. When my baby was returned to me, it was said everything was fine, whatever "everything" is. They also sent her some medicine mixed with water for her to take. (Quick side note - my baby has been 6 pounds for YEARS; that is her final adult weight, she has been that weight for EVERY visit since about 2017). After giving it some time, I STILL seen that my baby was feeble, as well as still having consistent loose bowel movements AND vomiting; so I called & left a voicemail on last Friday. It is now Monday (2|13) & I hadn't heard anything back. I took it upon myself to call on my lunch break. The lady I spoke with, gave me one hell of an experience. When I expressed to her what happened & how my baby is STILL sick, she tells me that when the vet took a fecal sample, she didn't have diarrhea... since when does diarrhea momentarily stopping, mean it doesn't exist? I also asked her, what my baby weighed her last visit, since everything is "fine"? She gets quiet, then lowly says "5.3 pounds"... so I proceed to tell her how "my baby has NEVER weighed under 6 pounds, & you would think the fact that her weight has dropped, would be some type of cause for concern" her response to me is "ma'am that's not even 1 pound"... so what?! Every problem starts small. I've given ALL these symptoms, on top of you all seeing the drop in her weight, and still nobody is concerned? During this conversation, she constantly called my baby a "he", if you have my information pulled up from the system, you see my baby is a female, why do you keep referring to her as a "he"? So when I finally told her my dog is a "she" she goes on to say "she, he, YOUR DOG, didn't have diarrhea when the doctor took a sample". I've never spoken to someone sooo insensitive like this before in my life! I've been coming here for YEARS, I have a STRONG emotional attachment to my baby; so for her to HEAR the frustration & hurt in my voice, AND disregard my concerns about my baby's health when I put my money & trust for my baby's life into this business, is ABSURD. You'd think that once all other options have been cancelled out, they'd run further tests or do further examining if I'm telling them she's WEAK, if I'm telling them I can feel her bones, if I'm telling them she's throwing up & has diarrhea. Who thinks that since a dog isn't throwing up or having diarrhea in the moment, that everything is fine if they've consistently been sick? I am DISGUSTED with the lack of sympathy from the staff at this establishment. I will NEVER bring my baby back here ever again! I pray they didn't miss anything detrimental that'll put my baby's life at risk.
