The team communicates clearly and follows up, which gives me so much peace of mind as a pet owner. I especially want to recognize Reagan at the front desk. Over the past few weeks, while some of the vets were out of town, she consistently followed up, kept me informed, and made sure I understood the next steps in my cat's care. Even when I was feeling emotional, she handled everything with professionalism, warmth, and true compassion -- which meant more than she probably knows. They're now helping coordinate a referral to a dermatologist for my cat's skin and allergy issues, and I'm incredibly grateful for the thorough care throughout this process. I highly recommend Delaware Animal Clinic to anyone looking for a team that truly cares. -Jennie

As other reviewers state, they are rather expensive, but I have great pet insurance and I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" so I never shopped around for a cheaper place since I was happy with their care. Always had a good experience with them until recently. I don't know what has happened, but this is my third time in the last year to have an issue getting an appointment. No one ever answers the phone anymore and when I leave (numerous) messages they never get a response. Last time my cat was sick and I called because the course of treatment wasn't working, the receptionist told me a vet tech would call me right back. Never heard a word from them and ended up bringing him to another vet. Not wanting to start over with a new vet I tried calling when it was time for his annual wellbeing check and vaccines. Never got a call back and ended up at another vet again. Today was the last straw. Cat has been vomiting since 11:00pm last night. I called today and left messages twice with no response. I will be taking him elsewhere from now on. Not sure what happened, but if you're thinking about becoming a client of theirs I would think twice. There are still plenty of vets in Beaumont that actually answer their phones and return your call.

I NEVER thought I would be writing this type of review, but here we are. The first problem I ran…read moreinto was lack of communication. I've been dealing with this vet since I was in middle school, I am now in my late twenties; I've NEVER had any problems previously... so for me to get to the point of having to relocate my fur baby to a different veterinarian, is HIGHLY disappointing. My contact information has been the same - I would get reminder emails all the time. At some point the emails stopped, but I took it as my baby wasn't due for any shots. After a while, the length of time became concerning so I contacted the office. I find out she's overdue for shots; they have my email, never attempted to contact. I gave them my new phone number the last time my baby had shots... they never updated the number. An easy fix though, so I didn't make an issue of it. When I got her in for her appointment, I let the young lady at the front desk know about my fur baby having frequent loose bowel movements & vomiting. We still cannot go to the back with the vet to see what's going on, so I had to trust that my message was properly relayed. When my baby was returned to me, it was said everything was fine, whatever "everything" is. They also sent her some medicine mixed with water for her to take. (Quick side note - my baby has been 6 pounds for YEARS; that is her final adult weight, she has been that weight for EVERY visit since about 2017). After giving it some time, I STILL seen that my baby was feeble, as well as still having consistent loose bowel movements AND vomiting; so I called & left a voicemail on last Friday. It is now Monday (2|13) & I hadn't heard anything back. I took it upon myself to call on my lunch break. The lady I spoke with, gave me one hell of an experience. When I expressed to her what happened & how my baby is STILL sick, she tells me that when the vet took a fecal sample, she didn't have diarrhea... since when does diarrhea momentarily stopping, mean it doesn't exist? I also asked her, what my baby weighed her last visit, since everything is "fine"? She gets quiet, then lowly says "5.3 pounds"... so I proceed to tell her how "my baby has NEVER weighed under 6 pounds, & you would think the fact that her weight has dropped, would be some type of cause for concern" her response to me is "ma'am that's not even 1 pound"... so what?! Every problem starts small. I've given ALL these symptoms, on top of you all seeing the drop in her weight, and still nobody is concerned? During this conversation, she constantly called my baby a "he", if you have my information pulled up from the system, you see my baby is a female, why do you keep referring to her as a "he"? So when I finally told her my dog is a "she" she goes on to say "she, he, YOUR DOG, didn't have diarrhea when the doctor took a sample". I've never spoken to someone sooo insensitive like this before in my life! I've been coming here for YEARS, I have a STRONG emotional attachment to my baby; so for her to HEAR the frustration & hurt in my voice, AND disregard my concerns about my baby's health when I put my money & trust for my baby's life into this business, is ABSURD. You'd think that once all other options have been cancelled out, they'd run further tests or do further examining if I'm telling them she's WEAK, if I'm telling them I can feel her bones, if I'm telling them she's throwing up & has diarrhea. Who thinks that since a dog isn't throwing up or having diarrhea in the moment, that everything is fine if they've consistently been sick? I am DISGUSTED with the lack of sympathy from the staff at this establishment. I will NEVER bring my baby back here ever again! I pray they didn't miss anything detrimental that'll put my baby's life at risk.

They would get a 2 star (only because they did give him pain meds & let him stay there the night) But...ln came the sun! Niki & the rest of the staff on day crew here at NVC took amazing care of our Bandit! I highly recommend NVC day team for care and surgery- they were professional and gave us all of the information we needed, and Niki even called several times during the process with updates, and followed up with us several times after surgery to make sure our boy is doing well! I don't know what I would do without the big hearts of people like that! Thank you for all you do Niki and for NVC helping us get Bandit back home!

I waited several weeks before writing this review so I could evaluate the experience as objectively…read moreas possible. Summary I brought a pregnant dam to this clinic for an emergency C-section after labor stalled. The initial surgery resulted in severe internal bleeding that required a second emergency surgery later the same day by a different surgeon to save her life. Communication throughout the process was poor, and my dam and puppies were kept at the clinic for more than 24 hours. After discharge, the puppies were significantly underweight, dehydrated, and in poor condition. All puppies contracted canine parvovirus despite the dam being fully vaccinated. Full Experience We recently relocated our kennel to the area and had a large-breed dam whose labor stalled approximately three hours after delivering her first puppy. The emergency clinic we had previously vetted was closed, so out of necessity I brought her to NVC at approximately 4:00 a.m. on 5/5/2026. After the initial examination, bloodwork, radiographs, and ultrasound, Dr. James Longoria recommended proceeding with a C-section. He assured me that he routinely performed C-sections and spays and advised that spaying during the final C-section would be more cost-effective. Before surgery, I specifically asked whether oxytocin would be administered in an attempt to stimulate labor before performing surgery. I was told it would be. However, the medical records I later received contain no indication that oxytocin was ever administered. I was also told my dog would be seen immediately. Instead, the surgery began significantly later than I was led to expect. Around the time I had been told discharge would occur, I returned to the clinic and was informed that my dog was still in surgery. When I questioned the delay, I was told the procedure was taking longer because of the size of the blood vessels that needed to be closed. During this time, staff asked me to bring in the puppy that had already been delivered at home so it could nurse with the dam and litter. Believing this would be in the puppies' best interest, I agreed. Several hours later, after repeated attempts to obtain updates, I received a call from lead surgeon Dr. Brady Hanson requesting permission to take my dog back into surgery because she was not doing well. I immediately consented. Dr. Hanson later informed me that he had found multiple sites of internal bleeding and had to perform emergency corrective surgery. He also administered multiple blood transfusions. In my opinion, Dr. Hanson saved my dog's life. He communicated clearly, acted decisively, and was transparent about what had occurred. For that, I am genuinely grateful. Unfortunately, communication from the clinic as a whole remained poor throughout the remainder of the hospitalization. I repeatedly called seeking updates and was consistently told that the puppies were doing well and nursing normally. I specifically asked whether puppy weights were being monitored to ensure proper neonatal development and was told that they were. On 5/6/2026, I was finally told I could pick up the dam and puppies. Upon discharge, I was shocked by the condition of the puppies. They were significantly underweight, dehydrated, and appeared to have received inadequate care during their first 32 hours of life. When I requested their birth weights, I was informed that puppy weights were not recorded because only the dam was considered the patient. This directly contradicted what I had previously been told when I specifically asked whether weights were being monitored. Every puppy developed canine parvovirus. Because the dam was fully vaccinated and we've never had parvo in our program, I can only speculate as to how this occurred. My concern is that the puppies may not have received adequate nursing and colostrum during their critical first hours of life, especially given the dam's medical complications and need for a second surgery. Regardless of the cause, I spent the next three weeks providing around-the-clock intensive care to save the litter. Thankfully, all puppies survived with the guidance and treatment provided by my regular veterinarian. Final Thoughts My total bill was $5,212. The clinic did not charge me for the second surgery that was required to correct the complications from the first procedure. The financial cost, however, pales in comparison to the time, emotional stress, and ongoing expense of managing a parvovirus outbreak and decontaminating our home and kennel property. While I am thankful to Dr. Hanson for saving my dog's life, my overall experience with this clinic was deeply disappointing. Between the surgical complications, inconsistent communication, conflicting information regarding puppy care, and the condition of the puppies at discharge, I cannot recommend this facility. If faced with another emergency, I would choose to drive to Houston or to a 24-hour clinic across the Louisiana border rather than return here.

The website is well done and makes reviewing/updating my dog's info, as well as scheduling appointments, very easy. The email and text reminders of upcoming appointments and healthcare treatments are incredibly helpful and much appreciated! When we come in for our appointments, my spouse and I, and Sophie (our GSD, Belgian "Mali-gator", Carolina Swamp Dog mixed-up pup) are always treated with respect, professionalism, and kindness, as our Sophie is very excitable and overly friendly - a real "a party on paws"! Sophie gets loved on by every staff member she meets, taken care of thoroughly, and she really seems to enjoy going to Bridge City Animal Hospital. Each staff member - from our reception/check-in/out team, to Doc Wendy, to the vet techs who do the puppy wrangling and have to test those fresh "tootsie rolls" we bring in for heartworms - is so friendly, so patient, so knowledgeable, and so awesome we are blown away! In my 65 years I can honestly say that Bridge City Animal Hospital is the best veterinary practice I have ever taken my pets to, and I highly recommend anyone in Orange, Jefferson, Jasper, and Chambers counties who needs veterinary care for their pets to contact Bridge City Animal Hospital. They are "the best in the business"!
