For the past few years, my husband and I had talked about updating our 30-year-old kitchen, and I…read moredreaded it. From what I'd heard and read, this costly process often turned out to be a nightmare that yielded disappointing results. Instead, working with kitchen designer Emily Dolan at KitchenWorks (who was recommended by our contractor, Steve Spratt Improvements), was fun. And the results are more beautiful and functional than I had expected. She started by visiting our house to see our kitchen, and then she listened to what we wanted and what we wanted to get rid of with the remodel. She asked us detailed questions -- Do you use your microwave to re-heat or to cook? Could you use another pantry near the refrigerator for storage, or would you rather have more counter space? Have you thought of using tray dividers in the cupboards over the refrigerator to store your trays and cookie sheets? Based on our answers, she drew up several layouts for us to review. She willingly revised elements of the plan we settled on, and once the remodel was underway, she came by a few times to see that the installation was going smoothly. I never felt the clock ticking when I met with her, or rushed into a decision, or pushed to choose the most costly materials. She was even willing to look at the flooring samples I brought by to help me envision which would look best with the cabinets and countertop we had chosen. Now, we have a kitchen where everything we use has a place that makes sense, and just catching a glimpse of it from our living-room or den makes me smile. I wholeheartedly recommend working with Emily Dolan at KitchenWorks!

After they measured our kitchen the manager call us and told us we have to do 2 sims because the shape of the line on Quartz will not be matched Bla BLA. So he was traying to use one slab of the Quartz and cut to many pieces instead of using 2 slabs and have one sim. I told him we agree to have one sim when we gave you our kitchen measurements and you you said yes. He was so rude and unprofessional. I got my deposit back and went to much better place with good quality and much better price, and my countertop was done in three days with one sim.

After installation in kitchen, noticed a belly in the countertop, close to 3/8". The upstairs bathroom piece had a slightly less sag in the middle. Checked underneath and saw counter fully shimmed to match the bow. Called "Fame" who stared this was acceptable and that it would flatten out on about 14 days. They also cracked the mirror in the upstairs bath that runs the entire area above the vanity. After much discussion, they refused to replace either piece of defective quartz countertop or replace the mirror they broke. Don't be conned. Buy anywhere else but Fab Granite and Con Artists.
