5 stars if the bathrooms and water fountains were upgraded. It's a lush great park with plenty of shady spots and open grass.

The park structures were great, but the uneasy feeling the homeless people give you is what makes this park suck for a family day. We found this park on vacation and wanted to check out the little dirt track for the kids bikes but right next to the track is where the group of homeless people are and have made the highway underpass their home. Don't recommend this park for families until they can do something about the people living here. read more

Let me first dispel the mischaracterization of this park as a drug and miscreant riddled cesspol - idea you might get from reading a couple of the reviews... if you've never been here before. This is a nice, popular little park full of family and friends, grillin' and chillin, kid's playing, mountain bike riding, dog walking, volleyball, frisbee, yoga meditation, private and public events, and yes... a few people with their backpack-n-bedroll homes napping or relaxing usually toward the edges of the park in quite shaded spots. Apparently some folks are rattled by this - "first world problems" if you ask me. But enough of that soap box. This park can get packed at the busy times of the year because it's pretty darn nice. There is a ton of room plenty of shade plenty of sunshine plenty of picnic tables and chairs a few very large grassy areas or you can put together little game of t-ball or touch football, or whatever. It can get noisy over by the play areas and gazebo where families often gather. That's on the Southeast side of the park but take a walk over to the Northwest part of the park and you can't hear any of it. The only sound there is the sound of the traffic on Montezuma Street which borders the west side. Bridge if you walk under the bridge at Montezuma Street you are connected to the network of trails along Granite Creek that Meander through the downtown area. It's a fun little walk or bike area. If you're having a picnic and you run short on ice or charcoal or anything else you can take a short walk to the south side of the park up a little path and through a gate and you're right there in the Sprouts shopping center. No need to get in your car to drive for supplies. The park is pretty well kept up, but after the monsoon seasons you will see some weeds and overgrowth along the edges and around some of the feature. But this is not Scottsdale, so... I've been many happy times here with friends families and co-workers. The part doesnt deserve to be represented in a bad light. It's close to downtown, where there is a push against the homeless an street people, so this is the closest place they can get some respite. That's just life in modern America. read more

Nice park to take kids for bike riding. Nice bike park...hill area made of dirt for bikes like a skate park. Nice large grass area to teach a child to ride a bike. Still a homeless situation there. I would NEVER use the facilities there. Police do frequently come through park. I will never see that park as clean after what i have seen, but will continue to go to use bike park. read more

This is a nice little park located really close to downtown Prescott. We are always looking to save a buck while finding something cool to do in other towns. For this reason we usually end up having picnics at many different parks as part of our excursions. This park is fairly large, has plenty of seating areas and has a good playground. There are huge trees everywhere, so shade is never more than a few steps away. Picnic tables are scattered throughout the park, and there is a pavilion that has a lot of tables. I imagine you can rent the pavilion for parties and such. The playground is pretty big. There is a big-kid play structure, a little-kid play structure, four big swings, two little swings and some motorcycle bouncy-things. The bathrooms are located right next to the playground. There is a large, open grassy area on the northwest corner of the park, which was hosting a spirited game of frisbee while we were there. There were a few vagrants, but they kept to themselves. There were many joggers, dog-walkers and strollers on the paths around the park. The creek runs right through the park, but we didn't explore it, so I'm not sure if it was running or not. In all, this is definitely a park that we'll be returning to the next time we're in Prescott. read more

This could be a great park if the city would address the homeless situation. Took the grand kids here and while I am sure they had fun I was personally embarrassed that this park exists with these conditions. The city needs to toughen the stance on abusing parks in this manner. Maybe hold some meetings there, like the Prescott City Council. Fix this. read more

The park itself is good, but the patrons are less desirable. The pavilion had about 10-men there. Most of which appeared to be inebriated. One man was observed drinking from a Pepsi bottle that was filled with an orangy-red drink. Two men almost got in a fight twice while we were there. Not the place to take children. We left after 20-minutes which was 20-min longer than we should have stayed. read more

Cute park but pavilion was fairly full. We figured bbq or gathering. Within 5 minutes it was obvious that wasn't the case. Clearly mostly homeless individuals. Again. Not horrible. Until the pot smoking started and some yelling back and forth. Pretty much on the playground. Hopefully the town can figure out how to manage. read more
