Before finding this clinic, I had suffered for over five years with severe dry eye, and I had very little resolution from other doctors and clinics. When coming to Granite Point Eye Care, and sharing with Dr. McGhee my severe dry eye pain and ongoing worsening of my condition, she immediately referred me to their dedicated services and treatment plan. I have completed a series of in-office treatments and my dry eye level was successfully reduced from a level of severe and worsening to moderate and stable. My regular eye doctor was not in the office and I was having pain in my eye so they referred me to Granite Pointe to see Dr Gill. They quickly set me up as a new patient and contacted my eye dr office for all my records. They got me in the same day and all my information was available to Dr Gill at my exam. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything regarding my eye. Happily it was resolved and my visit was communicated to my regular doctor's office so she'll have a complete update at my upcoming visit. It was such a relief to see Dr Gill the same day. I am sad to write this because Granite Pointe Eye Care was good at first. The front office is inviting and the front office staff are friendly. The optometrist my family and I saw (Dr Gill) seemed thorough and was nice enough. But I was so disappointed with my first purchase of glasses. I have been wearing glasses for about 37 years, so needless to say these aren't my first pair of glasses. I placed an order on 10/21/25 for glasses. I have a strong prescription, so gladly paid for the high index lenses to thin out the lenses and not make them so thick. I received a call on 11/18/25 from Jason stating that my glasses came in, but were not up to their standards, so they wanted to send them back, but would refund me the high index lenses fee because of the wait and they should be back in the next week. I said that was appreciated and I was fine waiting the week. I got a text on 12/3/25 that my glasses were in. I went to pick them up on 12/11/25. The picture shows the difference between my old glasses (top picture from another optometrist) and what Granite Pointe Eye Care supplied me (bottom picture). The lenses are SO THICK! I mean the only time I have seen my lenses this thick is when they weren't thinned out AT ALL! They made it seem like they were compensating me for the SIX WEEK DELAY but did not say anything about not being able to process the order as originally placed. When I pushed back after seeing the glasses, they insisted there was nothing they could do to thin them out more. I am truly at a loss for words... My family and I certainly will not be back. I was a patient of Dr. Baker when he was at his own practice. He's since joined Granite Pointe. I needed a new set of scleral lenses but my vision insurance had been maxed out for the year. So I paid out of pocket to see Dr. Baker, to see what he could do for me. That was over 4 months ago. I have not heard anything from him or his staff. I understand my insurance is maxed out but at least call me to tell me that you can't do anything for me at this time. I was waiting and hoping but nope, nothing. I urgently needed new lenses to renew my drivers license. I failed the DMV vision test. I basically wasted $160 for a 5 minute eye exam. Never again. Once my benefits renew, I'm going to a new optometrist. You are nothing but walking dollar signs to Granite Pointe and that's it. read more

we transferred to this group 3 years ago. i think we Yelped this business before we left our previous optometrist and glad we did. Dr Leung is thorough and very nice. never had a bad experience here. the receptionists are prompt. today on election day 2018, i decided to come in and see what they could do with the prescriptions i got early this year. the reading or near areas of my glasses were too low that i had to raise my frames to read. the lady at the glasses counter told me that VSP would not change my lenses as they were more than 3 months old now. that dampened my hopes of having this problem corrected but she was able to remedy it by simply changing the nose pads with asian fits and magic. we've been recommending this place to anyone who cares to ask for a great optometry shop read more

I struggle with prescription glasses. I have an astigmatism in my left eye and glasses have always been a challenge. So I wear readers to read. When I saw the optometrist, she was convinced she could help with the astigmatism. I told her that it never works. She told me just give it a try, we could always change it. So, I listened. Based on her recommendation I spent hundreds on prescription glasses with transition lenses. It took five weeks to receive them and of course they did not work. Made me dizzy and made my vision distorted. I took them back and explained the situation and requested that I simply get readers. They informed me that if I wanted to return them there would be a restocking fee. I said what about the reimbursement for the expensive lenses I bought versus the simple readers that I requested originally. They said no Reimbursements are allowed. Who wants to work with a company who treats their customers this way. A complete and total racket with condescending service and a total lack of empathy. I have appreciated the thoroughness of the exams and the physician staff. The administration is why I won't go back. 1. They don't explain the fees they will charge up front at time of order. In my history of wearing contacts my examinations and contacts are always covered by Vision service plan. No changes to my plan. This last visit the contacts and exam were $228 after my insurance coverage. 2. The previous contacts I purchased from them cracked in my eye. The mfg. of gas permeable lenses were not high quality as I have worn contacts for 35 years and never once has a contact cracked in my eye. I am an experienced contact user and have at least 10 spare pairs in my drawer over the years. 3. Their fitting staff and front desk staff seem untrained. I specifically asked for a glasses prescription for my close up vision only and they gave me a prescription for progressive lenses. I even confirmed with the fitter while reviewing prescription. The doctors need to make sure their front staff can manage their patients accurately. I was with my prior optometrist fir 20 years. Hard to match a good doctor and staff. read more

Going to any doctor appt can be nerve wracking, but this place is the exception to the rule. Always enjoy the friendly staff at GP eye care, especially Dr.John - he's a real professional and provides excellent insights for eye care. The best part about coming here is the fact that dogs are warmly welcomed. This way, I don't need to leave my dog in the car or at home - which removes a worrisome burden. Also, this place is modern... in fact, they use text (and email) message reminders and their eye test equipment is state-of-art. Roughly fourteen(14) months ago I purchased a pair of progressive eyeglasses along with a pair of prescription sunglasses. At that time I had no idea that I would be undergoing cataract surgery on my left eye thirteen (13) months later leaving my glasses useless post surgery. I returned to Granite Point Eye Care(GPEC) to see if they could replace the left lens with a non-prescription lens before we were to leave town for seven (7) days. Amanda, who has worked with cataract patients in the past, expedited my order and successfully got my sunglasses back before we were scheduled to leave. My experience was spectacular. I was disappointed coming into the store. We called to come in and see about getting prescription sunglasses. We drove to the store, waited in the lobby, and then were told we had to come back and to schedule an appointment another day. There were two people in the sunglasses area that were not helping anyone and could have easily helped us. Unfortunately, we won't be referring customers to this store. When I first moved to Sacramento, I was pretty critical of where I went to maintain my vision. I've been coming to Granite Point for a little close to 4-5 years now and have been seeing Dr. Leung for the entirety of it. And let me tell you, I absolutely LOVE getting to see her whenever I have an appointment. She's very very thorough, patient and very informative when helping make a decision on best care. Questions are put very well in terms of understanding and breaks down to the simplest of answers, along with the rest of the care team. Hands down will definitely refer my friends/family. When picking out frames, there are an abundance of options and all their staff are readily available to answer all questions and offered assistance in finding the best frames suitable to personal taste. Due to covid, an appointment is required to be seen. They do accept VSP and are very thorough in examinations. I booked a last-minute appointment with Dr. Leung a few days before and found some openings, I was happy that my VSP plan from Covered CA can be used here. I did not wait long for my appointment. There is the imagery of your eye cortex that is a great deal which can be useful for preventative measure against diseases and other health concerns. After the preliminary eye checking, Dr. Leung came in to help fine-tune my prescription and answer my questions about considering laser eye surgery. She explained an optional extra process for Dry Eye that can be done before eye surgery to be more prepared for laser eye surgery and other identifying factors for if laser eye surgery would fit me. They can offer that service at the location under health insurance. Finally, going through the glasses options the optical tech was very attentive in asking my preference and finding a similar style to my old pairs. She even spent time seeing if there was a stock of older frames I had with me. They showcased options for transition lenses and even fixed my broken glasses nose pads and replaced them with new ones, it helped me keep my current glasses good until my new ones came in. I am happy with the friendliness of the staff and the knowledge they have to help. read more

I did not allow extra time to fill out paper work but they were still accommodating and made the adjustments. Great atmosphere with friendly front desk staff and great service and team work between techs and Doctor. My husband and I were seen by Dr. Matsuri and she was great, took time to answer all our questions and was thorough with check ups and our family history to address our present and future eye health conditions. She offered choices of other services for preventive care with no pressure. Glasses department was satisfactory. Staff was great and helpful but there was not a variety of choices for different shapes of faces. Their selections were on the pricey side compared to Costco's selections, at least for me needing something for my average lifestyle. Overall, I would recommend others to use their eye Dr. Services, and check out their selection, but know that you can still walk out with a printed prescription of your glasses and check other places for different options. read more

She didn't even announce the name of the business when she answered the phone, nor did she state her own name, I had to ask and she seemed perturbed that I did so. My family and I have been coming to Granite Pointe Eyecare since 2013. I am only here to say one thing: Dylan is the BEST! She is so knowledgable and kind with patients. I truly trust Dylan and see honor, dedication, and diligence in her work. Unfortunately, I had a tough time working with Granite Pointe Eyecare's outsourced call center to order contacts. I tried to order 90 days in advance since I was leaving the country for a long trip. I had called multiple times trying to the reach the office, but I could only leave a message and could not talk to staff directly. l almost gave up to order contacts from Costco. But since the office has taken care of my family and I for over 10 years, I really wanted to order through them to help support. After a couple calls, I eventually got a message to the office and Dylan personally reached out to me and ensured that she was working with their representative to order my contacts! It is good to see that the office has grown quite a bit. However, because of their expanded customer base, it is difficult to get customized care now that the environment is more hectic. But for now, thanks to Dylan, my family and I will continue to remain patients here :) read more
