OMG! Life changing experience. I have been going to a LARGE eye care center that was a chain in Roseville/ Sac my whole life. I was becoming irritated by the lack of customer service/empathy and when I called to make my annual appointment, and I was the fifth person in line, I just hung up and made a decision to find somewhere new. I found Roseville Vision Center and went for my appnt last week. It was quiet. There was not a sea of people waiting and the employees were kind and helpful. The doctor I saw was amazing as well. He took quite a while with me and explained many issues I was having that no one previously brought to my attention. He corrected my prescription for my contacts and gave me some other helpful hints about issues I was having. Roseville Vision Center was night and day from where I had been going. I was referred to this optometrist for only an eyeglass repair today by a long time customer of theirs and boyfriend of mine. I came in with a VERY minor bend in the side of my frame that Eye Designs always so carefully and thoughtfully fixes for me when I was unfortunately met with Jessica, a front desk member who did not carefully or thoughtfully handle my frames which resulted in her snapping them. I expected Jessica to use a special tool of some sort just like every single optometrist I've payed a visit to before has but she did not, she used her hands (which by the way had NO gloves on) and proceeded to break my frames. If I felt as though my hands could fix the bend in my frames then I would've saved myself the troubling visit with Jessica today and done it with my own two hands. She told me there was nothing she could do for me and offered the frames at a discounted price. I consulted with my mother who is also my insurance holder for frames and when we called back for the discounted price we were met with Mary, the supposed manager of this establishment who was then very rude to us and hung up in my 60 year old mothers face. This visit was not only disappointing but it's now costing me more money than it should have. It's unfortunate that my boyfriend who has been going here for the past 5-7 years is now considering a new optometrist. The customer service is absolutely unacceptable to us and the problem is still not fixed. Looking for a corporate number or head of management to speak with to help since Mary and Jessica did absolutely nothing today. Where is the discount that I was promised? Oh, and I truly do hope that this review isn't met with a snide comment about how this establishment is doing nothing wrong by Amber or that it gets rated "funny" by Jessica, the employee like a few of the other negatives have. My family and I have all been coming here since we moved to Roseville Ca and there's a reason we have never changed. The staff here is always so friendly and nice as well as super helpful. The Optometrist has to be of the most helpful and kindest person. He is so patient with all the patients lol and ensures nothing but satisfaction. They also have a great selection of brands from any designer and the staff here make sure they fit absolutely perfect. In addition if anything ever goes wrong for warranty purposes they are all over it and ensure you as the customer are taken care of. There's a lot of choices here in this city with big competitors like Walmart, Target, Costco, Stanton etc...but if your local or close by why not give the little local guys a chance. They take all sorts of insurances so why not? Great locally owned business that deserves all the local business they can get. read more

Dr. Perron is wonderful. I was surprised as I walked in on Dec 22nd at the peak of flu/covid season. I was surprised because none of the 3 receptionist were wearing masks. There was one patient sitting in a chair with a mask on. The optometrist is a medical office, they write prescriptions and I feel like they should be adhering to the recommendations to help stop the spread. It made me feel like the office does not take covid seriously. As a RN who works on a floor with covid patients and has seen the devastation, I sadly will not be returning. I appreciate Dr. Perron and thank him for his commitment in finding me a contact prescription that worked for me. Out of respect for their patients I feel they should all be wearing masks, even if outside of the office they choose not to. I was a day early for my actual appointment. I've been coming to this business for glasses and contact lenses for years and have lost count as to how many. Every time I come I'm greeted with great customer service. The ladies of the front counter are also so helpful with picking out new frames and they make great suggestions. Instead of me trying on 100s of frames and not finding anything remotely good. They're also helpful with working out the best approach to use my insurance as well. They have a big selection of glass frames. The eye doctor is a very nice down to earth guy. When my glasses are sent to be ordered or contacts it usually takes 1-2 weeks, typically about a week majority of the time. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a new eye doctor. Also, currently the employees are wearing masks and following the the guidelines in place. read more

Dr. Tzeng met with me for a very complete and informative exam. I waited Monday morning until they opened, but she gave complete service without delay. She accurately diagnosed several vision problems, made referrals to advanced ophthalmology help., and gave me solid advice for coping with reduced vision in the meantime. After 8 years, I'm searching for another optometrist. My husband had an appointment today, and *not one* of the staff, including Dr. Perron, was wearing a mask! This is a medical office and they should be following the state and federal mandates to help stop the spread of coronavirus. It made me think that they do not believe in science - not a good feeling at a doctor's office! No matter what your personal beliefs are, you should have respect for the health and safety of your patients and wear face coverings in the office - especially when you are working within inches of people's faces. I've been seeing Doctor Perron at Roseville Vision Center for over 10 years. I can't say enough how nice it is to have a doctor who cares about my well being & educates me about my options. I've seen him for my annual eye check and for a couple of eye problems (dry eyes, eye infection) I have to note that the staff is friendly and great at helping with my insurance coverage. Update: 5/2014 - this review is specifically for Dr. Barber and she has relocated her service - she's now located, behind Togo's (by Honey Treat Yogurt), off Douglas Blvd. *** Dr. Barber and the awesome staff at the Roseville Vision center are spectacular. Dr. Barber is one of the best around and I have been to quite a few optometrists in my years. She is detail oriented and caring ... a lost art in our world. And a good business is only as good as the great people who work there and I can't say enough nice things about all the ladies that work here. They are funny and attentive ... they dealt with all my odd requests and knew that I loved orange, even though a year had passed. Yes I know I have an orange addiction, so back off. Back to my story, ahem ... even when my favorite (orange) eye glasses broke, they helped me out ... gave me a spare pair of contacts and sent off my glasses promptly for repair. Though the spring will never be the same, the resolution was good and I'm pleased. I have my eyeglasses back and they seem to be pretty darn good. Thank you RVC crew, I appreciate your great service, assistance and upbeat attitude. This busy, working momma really appreciates your attention to detail and top-notch service. Great office and great customer service. Picking out glasses can be time consuming and overwhelming, but Ashley and Mari made sure to take the time to help me and provide great feedback for glasses. They kindly educated me on the correct glasses to look for to fit my nose/face and on the correct way to take care of my contacts, which is something other offices have failed to do. I used Yelp to find the Roseville Vision Center and was excited to find an optometrist with such a high rating, and so close to my home. I have to say I am a bit disappointed. I arrived for my first appointment and had brought my completed paperwork with my. Everything started off like most appointments... The staff is friendly... I had a seat and waited. From just watching the staff, I felt as if everything was a little disorganized. The workflow behind the counter seemed a lot more rushed than necessary considering the number of patients waiting. I didn't wait too long and was shown to the exam room. I girl who lead the way acted as if I had been there before and left me kind of not knowing what to do. "Do I go in that room"? "Do I sit in that chair or the other one"? In essence, not bad, just seemed a little unprofessional and more like I was visiting a neighbor. The doctor arrived and performed the exam. He took his time and was pretty informative. So, all in all, nothing really to complain about... but not the 5 stars I was expecting. After the exam, my eyes were dilated, and I was not immediately attended to. The doctor was referring me to a specialist for a rental problem and I needed to pick out some new glasses. After a while, I was invited to look through the glasses and start figuring out which ones I wanted. The selection here is pretty small, and there did not seem to be a lot of variety. I was surprised since the lobby area is huge so I expected maybe four or five times as many choices. The woman finally came over and helped me pick out some frames based on my face size. I was offered a polymer coating without really much explanation as to what is was. I initially turned it down not realizing it was the one option that I had intended to ask for. Once the selection was complete... the woman said thanks and I guess we were done. I asked her when I could expect to pick up my glasses. She said in about two weeks and they would call. The girl behind the counter gave me my referral and some pamphlets regarding various eye conditions. I had to ask if I had to call and make an appointment or what? She said no, they would make the appointment and then call me. A week later, I still hadn't heard from anyone. I called the office and the girl said she would follow up and see what happened. She said she would call me the next morning. Two days later, no one had called... still. I called back and she apologized. She said she had contacted the other doctor and they said it would be better if I called and made the appointment. Okay... that's fine but I wish someone had said that to begin with. I called and made the appointment, but had to start from scratch since they had no information on the referral. It's now been 4 weeks since my appointment and I am still waiting for a phone call... and the glasses. I called them this morning and the girl checked a shipment that had just come in... no glasses yet. She said another shipment would be coming in about an hour. She would check it. If my glasses were not there... she would check on their status and call me... That was several hours ago. I decided at around 2:15 pm I would call and save her the trouble of looking up my number. It's a Tuesday.. so I know they are open until 5:00 pm. Now, I get voice mail and have to leave a message. I finally did get a call back and they advised me it would be next Monday before my glasses were ready. (Sigh). Here's the thing... I don't want this review to dissuade anyone from going here. They are nice people but just seem a little scatter brained. But don't come in thinking you will receive 5 star service either. It's just Okay... not bad... not great.. just Okay. With a little work... I think they could be great though. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Perron for 12 years now. He was the first eye doctor who listened to my concerns about glasses and contact when I first became interested in them back in college. I remember having sweaty palms and being so nervous going in to my first appointment. I was expecting a dentist sort of experience where I would feel guilty for going so long before going to the doctor for real - my sight is pretty bad. I was completely relieved to meet Dr. Perron and his staff. They are so kind and sweet. No guilt here. As the years have gone on, Dr. Perron has helped me with my contacts and then my glasses, helping me weigh the benefits of one to the other. The visits are always fun, because he remembers details about my life and shares fun stories during the exam. He is very clean and has a calming way about him. He is exactly the sort of person who should be a doctor, helpful and genuine. His staff, Mary and Amber, are always smiling, sweet and very nice. They helped me pick out just the right frames for my wedding this year. They were patient and very honest as I went through frame after frame trying to make the big decision. Perrin came into exam room with no mask, asked if I was a mask or no mask person as I sat there with a mask on. This was during mandatory mask regulations. I said, " I thought we were past the mask issue" he said no. After that I got a very brief cursory exam. I had my prescription filled at a local lab. Vision in my left eye wasn't correct. I went back to perron's office and asked for a recheck in left eye. Two staffers told me Perrin wouldn't see me since I did not buy glasses from his office. Eyeglass world gave me a complimentary recheck and changed the left eye prescription, and remade the lenses. Thank you Perrin for no help. read more

What a great office! Dr. and his staff are wonderful! From my normal checkups, to contact appointments, to ordering new glasses, to emergencies - every visit has been great! I'm always promptly greeted when walking through the doors, my insurance questions are always answered and I am always taken back at my appointment time. I know eye appointments can only be so much fun, but Dr. does make them enjoyable with his funny humor during the visit! The ladies up front are very accommodating and willing to work with your schedule and have even gotten me in for an emergency visit minutes after calling on a Friday! On that same occasion, Dr. even gave me his personal cell number to call him if I had any problems over the weekend (thankfully I didn't)! This is truly a great team of people that are providing excellent services and I couldn't be more happy to have found them! read more

Wow. Been a long time customer but was treated like crap by this group today. I always had some reservation with using them because they claim to have state of the art equipment but Eye Surgeon said they don't. Poor customer service too. I was a little late for an appointment but they insisted on rescheduling AND THE DOCTOR WASNT EVEN THERE! So I would have been waiting the 12 minutes I was late. I also have been there many times just waiting for the doctor. So for them to pull this crap is unacceptable. Look Elsewhere!!! read more

I contacted Roseville Vision Center when I was looking around for some place to get contacts. I was debating between Kaiser, Costco, and a few other places. I wound up making an appointment somewhere else. When I made the appointment, I told this other place that I wanted contacts. When I went in for the exam, they did the exam and told me I'd need to schedule a separate appointment for a contact lens fitting and they couldn't get me in for at least two weeks unless I wanted to drive to South Sacramento. They also gave me rather high quote for the fitting fee. I contacted Roseville Vision Center to see if they would do just the fitting and how soon they could get me in. Amber was wonderful and got me in the next week. My appointment was today and the staff was great. There was no waiting, the doctor was very friendly and helpful and got me fitted into a pair of trial lenses. The fitting fee was substantially less than what I would have paid at the other place. Looking around at some of the frames, they seemed pretty reasonable priced as well, so when I'm ready to replace my frames I'll start here. read more

For those of you who appreciate some of the finer things, they have a large selection of Prada glasses. :-) The staff are so sweet and willing to help with anything.
