My son talked me into attending this school instead of Haverhill High…read more I was reluctant at first concerned about the image of a "vocational" school. I was pleasantly surprised that the image vocational schools are given is way off the mark Not only was he allowed hands on exploratory work in about 9 fields, he was evaluated according to his interests and learning style. The teachers are strict and the administration tolerates little They expect the kids to show up and show up on time. They let the parents know everything that is going on with the student ...if they're late, absent . If your child is out of school, they follow up and expect a reason. The kids are expected to behave, keep their noses clean and respect each other What I like about the school is that they prepare them for real world. They don't baby them My son was OSHA and "WORK READY" certified and will be going on COOP in a job in his field The only down side is the lack of resources for the kids in the form of guidance. I know the guidance counselors are trying but there are no programs in the Freshman year that guide, inspire and assist the students to think of college as a possibility -not on a grand scale anyway I was in constant contact regarding the COOP programs and they seem to be in a rut, relying on a few employers for the jobs instead of trying to get as many employers on board as possible to expose the kids to all kinds of work in their field My son has had to get me involved in order to get something done or nothing gets done at all. The guidance counselors know whose parents are involved and whose aren't. So if a kid has the misfortune of having parents who don't get involved or give a crap, they have little voice If you have your child attend here, you won't be sorry. Really The teachers can be quite awesome and the administration will not tolerate a slack teacher The kids come out independent and ready to work. Just make sure you get to know your guidance counselor well and don't think that if your kid can't get the resources he needs to look beyond high school by himself, its automatically it is their fault. You have to push a bit

I must admit that I had reservations about sending my daughter here. When I was a teenager,…read moreWhittier was the place where all of the misfits were sent. However, the school has made quite a transformation in the past 20+ years. It is highly regarded as one of the top academic institutions in the area. As an educator, I want a top quality education for my child, and I've certainly found it here at Whittier.

So what a bad time we had at this school since august.. so where do i begin... lets see... First the tech teacher sadly never explanded about this drive thing cause he just said start up the drive but didnt fully explan what needed to be done as he has before.. and what also happend after that. is that one of the teachers did NOT accept my IEP and also kept fllowing me around like what happend at the other school... and the lady who was on Zoom meeting never accepted what we said at all cause something stupid was made and there wasnt any promises made up for what was wrong at the first place.. And they also have a hard math class called Biologoy and thats too hard to do cause once you start the math its too hard to do cause then i dont furgure out the answers that where simpled on the page like whats sad about really happened is that they also cheat since every math was complanded around.. and our math bio teacher also compained once that someone will get a 0 over this by yelling out loud saying enough with the mistakes in this class.. as he yelled out loud cause he lived in Fitchburg and he is dangeruois to live with since Fitchburg is now a dirty town and nobody pays rent by living up on big hills that make you fall off on... and we did report this on the Zoom meeting.. but no nothing was proved and they didnt listen to us very well even the lady who my other mom tought she was a redneck unagreeded with her and kept going about what she really said.. and then once she complaneded that i needed to be at a school with too many little childern as a kidnergarder.. my other mother closed the window left the meeting and never came back as she was muting Mr tennny cause hes a parent guy of me and he doesnt help what he was saying because what we heard wasnt true and he never really said anything about the childern in class list ethier... just said only a few numbers.. witch wasnt good enough to give out full info.. We will prob not be back to this school unless theres a better chance to let me come back soon since we havent heard from anyone but a lady thats willing to get us back here without bad IEP dismcasion..

I graduated on August 11, 2017. To say it was an easy decision would be a lie. In January 2017 I realized something needed to change in my life! I was barely making ends meet, and, I needed to do something to better my earning potential. I was not in a position to spend money that I did not have, with little result. I began my research online. I found a program near me (Long Island, NY), but, they only taught 4 machines, and was significantly more expensive. I began to call the other options to further determine which would give the best return on my investment. Though the other programs seemed good, no other place guaranteed as much seat time without sharing equipment. I made the call to HCA and spoke to Skylar in enrollment. I explained my situation to her and my concern that my investment would yield a positive return. She explained everything they had to offer ( travel expense, lodging, lunch during the day, personal protective equipment, career counseling, and, leads to find employment). She suggested I see the facility before I made any decisions if possible. So, I took a 5 hour drive with my brother to see for myself. After a thorough walkthrough and a complete breakdown of cost and what would be provided, Skylar asked if I was ready to sign up. Though I was very impressed, I was still concerned about the time and money it would require. She suggested I grab a bite to eat ( suggested the Tuckaway Tavern. Great place!), and, talk it over with my brother. I appreciated that she was wasn't pressuring me to do anything right then and there! My brother and I spoke over lunch about the pros and cons ( pros: everything seemed great! Cons: TIME, MONEY, UNCERTAINTY ABOUT WHAT WOULD COME OF THIS.). A few days after our visit Skylar reached out to see if I had made a decision. I explained that it seemed great, but, I didn't know how I could commit the MONEY and time to do it. She was very understanding, but, she reminded me of our earlier conversation about "something had to change." She told me she wasn't looking to pressure me, but, if it was ok she would call me back in a couple weeks to see where I was at. Over the course of 3 months we spoke every few weeks about all the questions I still had. However, each time she patiently answered all my concerns. In May I was pretty certain about going, but there was still one sticking point: my dog! I could leave my job, I could put all my stuff in storage, but, leaving my dog wasn't an option ( she is a non-off
