They had a lot of great items for sale but I got there two hours early and they marked every chair as reserved. I get taking care of your existing customers, but they obviously don't want new people to bid. If they did, they'd have an open early bird seating area. I turned in my bid card and left. read more

Quite possibly the PREMIER auction house in the entire Tampa Bay area. They are very selective in accepting consignments, and therefore you won't find "junk" or poor quality items offered for sale. My husband and I have been attending auctions here for over 5 years, before we were married. We furnished a high percentage of our 'new' home with items purchased at Granny's, as we chose an Asian theme for our waterfront penthouse. Among the many items purchased - Waterford, art work, sculptures, Asian china, lamps, etc. - perhaps the most unique was the 5'2" Japanese geisha figure in full wedding regalia. Now that I own my own retail business, I shop mainly for my stores. Cannot highly recommend Granny's enough! And you can save a seat if you are new/planning to attend: call and ask in advance, or speak with someone at the office to get a reserved seat. They honestly don't reserve the seats, the ATTENDEES themselves do! I'm a big fan of this auction house. Can preview well in advance of the auction so there is no excuse for not knowing what you are bidding on. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of variety at each auction and typically upwards of 400 to 500 items offered. The auction is fast paced (80+ items per hour), but expect to spend 5 hours or more if you stay to the end. Been coming here for over 7 years. I LOVE this auction house the best out of all the ones in Florida. Always a very large variety of different types of antiques. The auctioneer is just wonderful. The owners are THE MOST HONEST I've ever encountered in the business if it's a reproduction or something is wrong with it they tell you straight up. I have sold and bought here. It is the best. Clean restrooms, plenty of seating, sound system is loud, air conditioned, a lunch wagon is always outside, coffee and cookies brought out late in day. This place is an over-advertised flea market. Their "free appraisals" consist of looking the item up on eBay and if not there, they just make up a price. Truly unknowledgable! Told me my picture was worth between $400-$600 and likely would bring in excess of $600, so I agreed to put it in auction. They "sold" it for $300!! Very upsetting! This was after I did all the research on the item online. They gave excuse after excuse about the condition of my picture, but other auctions (professional) have sold comparable pictures for three times that much. TRUST NO ONE! Just because they've been in business for oh so many years doesn't mean that they have been above-board. If you care about your item, find a real professional auction house. I so wish I had!!!
