The staff/volunteers are always friendly, the store is very clean and superbly organized, and displays are attractive and timely rotating with the seasons. They also have a vintage area with wonderful pieces from the past if you're looking for something truly unique. Prices are very reasonable and you can sign up for text alerts to be notified of special sales (e.g. yesterday, dresses were 75% off - I was able to buy a few for less than $2 each!) But best of all? Proceeds support the Licking County Humane Society and the photos of sweet, furry faces on the walls remind you that every purchase helps to make a little critter's life better. No matter if you are a casual or serious thrifter, or if you just like bargains, this shop should definitely be on your list!

For example, there was a filthy walker, covered with dirt inside the carrier basket, dirt and heavy wear on the wheels and handles...$49.99! A Carter's stuffed lamb that plays music, soiled and impossible to wash...$7.99! It's really sad that this store charges these types of prices. The people who have to shop at Goodwill can no longer afford to shop there. I live 5 minutes away and have been shopping at this store for 9 years. Today was my last visit. (There was a very nice young lady outside sweeping up the sidewalk and entry area. She is the only asset.)

They carry thrift items as well as overstock. I saw furniture (some nice), cookware, toys, art and lots of clothes. Several shelves of pretzels and snack foods stood near checkout. The store is neat and well organized. Prices were reasonable, especially with the daily discounts. The staff is friendly. I was greeted upon entry and she described daily deals. I snagged an antique plant stand for only $6. Woohoo! There is plenty of parking in their private lot. Worth a visit.

Other items in a case are vintage Scouts items not for sale. Cornell's is a time capsule that must be experienced. When in Newark just before Thanksgiving my hotel recommended when I forgot my coat back home. It was a short walk from the Doubletree. The store is on the main drag. Upon entering your immediately taken back to another time period of the old general stores. The amount of inventory on the walls, on the tables, well literally every where you look. There is new, there is vintage new such as concert T shirts from the 60's & 70's. What is not there is an odor, the place has no old stinky smell that you may imagine. Plus some items that the owner would never sell on display such as Levi's jeans that date back to the company's start and probably worth tens of thousands. Mr. Cornell, the owner in his 70's has stories he will share if you have time about the family history and four generations of operation. The location was originally a stage coach stop, but Cornell's has their own history too! Like Fats Domino playing pool with the owners Father in the 1950's. They also have an antique juke box dating to the early 40's. The passion that Mr. Cornell brings to the business is what really stands out in my mind. He offers quality merchandise and is proud of the history dating back almost a hundred years. You cannot find another store in the country that compares. It would be impossible! In my opinion he should set up an online store. The items are just so unique and there would be demand nationwide. I walked out with a classic Woolrich red and black checkerd jacket that set me back $250 or so. Don't miss this store if your even within hours.

And they have amazing prices compared to other thrift stores. I ended up purchasing 4 things - a dresser, two chairs, and a coat 'tree'. An employee walks with you, marks what you want to buy, then checks you out. They will then help you load big pieces. Shout out to Seth & Wayne for being an amazing help to us on a busy weekend.

Over the years I've gotten amazing items and very good prices. But lately, I don't know who's…read morepricing items, but their costs have gone WAY up ($100 for a small, used, unlit Christmas tree?) and many collectible items are as expensive or more expensive than they are on EBay. Identical items with sometimes have a $25 price difference (the Kincade villages, some china etc). I don't think it's worth going to that part of Morse road unless they fix the price problem.
