This is a 2nd home and we had heard all the horror stories of contractors taking excessive time to complete work in Havasu. To our relief, the project was completed on time and within our budget. Great to work with. Everything was perfect: he showed up when he said he would; he did what he said he would do and there were no surprises. I can't even believe that Sunset Homes has 5 stars. They are a contractor that hires outside…read morecontractors... not an actual builder with their own employees. Most importantly, there were at least 2 of his subcontractors that were not licensed!!! I looked them up! DO NOT DO A CUSTOM HOME WITH THIS MAN!! He referred us to an architect named Rick. Rick missed some very important information on the plans that we told him over and over were wrong. Somehow the final plans were not the ones we approved. The problems ended up costing us over $12,000. It appears that they work together. They didn't seal around the windows at all. I asked if he was going to do this and he simply replied, "No." The grout was not sealed, so I was on my hands and knees doing it myself upon move-in. Just shoddy building all over. Our tile and brick is installed incorrectly and looks like crap! We have cracked tiles in the floor. There was a bait and switch on the tile. The tiles on the shower walls are hollow. That will fail soon. He told us we would have aluminum windows (which is what I specifically wanted) before we signed the contract, but Milgard discontinued them which, of course, he already knew. We've thought about fighting it, but I don't ever want to see his face again. His son is an electrician and terrible. He has almost every socket in our RV garage on the same circuit! They tried to pull a fast one on electrical with the inspector, but I got the inspector back out. We have exposed wood on the roof and tiles that aren't even secure. Also, so many things that we were told were included were an upgrade after we signed the contract. BE SURE THAT EVERYTHING YOU WANT IS ON THE PLAN EXACTLY HOW YOU WANT IT AND HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK!!! All I kept hearing was, "It's not on the plan." I really liked Justin in the beginning and trusted him. I was sooo wrong.

Seville Builders (the owner is Wes) came on to my property, used my water, and added four courses of bricks to my existing retaining wall, on my property, while I was out of town! They made this addition to the retaining wall on my property without my permission and without securing the required permits from the city. When I contacted Wes I was given nothing but attitude. He said the owners of the property (his customers) gave him permission and when asked about the permits, he said he was in a hurry so he did not bother to get them! Again, this is an addition to a retaining wall, on my person property. The nerve of this man and this company! This guy should have his contractors license revoked! Do not use this company under any circumstances!!! You have been warned!
