I WOULD NEVER PATRONIZE THIS COMPANY, NOR WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES! I am an antique and vintage dealer and have been for over 20 years. With that I have been to countless estates sales but NEVER have I been treated the way I was today. I attended the sale located at 25379 Pine Creek Lane on Sunday, April 21, 2024. There was an employee of Grasons who was shouting out as people entered that everything was 50% off. I looked around for all of about 2 minutes and then I went up to her and asked if items were tagged. She immediately and very rudely cut me off and told me everything is for sale. I replied, "I understand. Are things tagged?" (Since things are "50% off" I would like to know what the original price is.) Even more rudely than before, she gives me a dirty look and says, "there are a million items here and we only had 3 days to get ready!" Other patrons looked at me like I can't believe she just did that to you. I promptly left. If this is how your company treats people, you do not deserve anyone's business. I will be posting this to Yelp as well as a consumer beware. I'm sure the sellers would be horrified at how this is being handled on their behalf. Grasons is a great company with some terrific branches. Unfortunately, South Bay is not one of them. We have a pretty high level of tolerance, but this was ridiculous, and we will not be returning to another one of these sales. Furthermore, we'd advise that other buyers stay away from sales at Grasons South Bay. Kelly, the owner of the South Bay branch is the most unprofessional, rude individual that we have met in a long time. Her assistants were completely lovely though. First, we watched as Kelly yelled at some lady and told her to leave and put stuff back. This was all because one of her items was consigned by a different client and Kelly demanded cash for the consigned item. The buyer did not know this. She only had her card and thought that it would be ok to put it all on her card. The buyer was a middle aged lady that was completely kind and patient and we watched as she got chewed out for no reason. As she walked away, Kelly made snide comments about her not carrying cash with her. We also watched as Kelly sneered at some guy for asking the price for one of the items. She accused him of breaking something, which we know was not true. We were there. It was an old piece of wooden furniture and there were some loose pieces as a result of long term heat exposure. They just fell off and Kelly decided to blame him. He apologized and tried to explain. Her assistants also explained to her too, and yet Kelly still rolled her eyes, sneered, and told him to go. We watched as one of her assistants followed him to apologize. He too was completely kind and undeserving of her wrath. Kelly was abrupt and short with several other customers after, but by then, we had seen enough and chose to leave. Other customers also overheard these interactions. We were chatting with a few other people and the group of us all decided to leave. There was an older couple that had friends that were on their way. We watched them call them to tell them to turn around. In short, it seems that Kelly is not a happy person and that's really too bad. South Bay is a region with great potential. But Kelly is not fit to run a business that involves other people. No one should be taking out their life's issues on customers. That's just harassment. We really do wish her the best though and hope that she can get some real help. read more

Very poorly ran system. Been to a handful of sales and it's very catered to their regulars. They're the only ones with knowledge on how to get the actual address to the sale. They get priority to the higher end things. If you're not part of their Regular group good luck getting anything of any value or that you'd like. I came today to a sale after not coming for months, was first at site. But because I didn't know you had to put your name on a piece of trash and put it on the ground I was last on the list. Not right. Should be fair for all patrons. Won't be coming to their sales again and won't recommend them to anyone. read more

Kelly was quick to respond and faster to come to the house to access the situation. This was the only five star service the process. I liked her hustler vibe, fast past- hard working attitude immediately - her appearance was highly disheveled which I found odd- but who knows maybe she was in someone's storage working through the night is what I thought. "Wow- hard worker- I liked it." No judgement. I should've asked for recent references - instead I looked at reviews on Yelp -after reflection- were years outdated. The only other positive note is that the sale happened when she said it would. Bravo Kelly! But her behavior was rude- would not answer phone calls, when she called she would blurt out what she wanted and hang up, disconnect phone calls would happen- odd. Her crew did a good job in setting the items up for sale. Her pricing was questionable, advertising for the sale sub par, photos of the items hasty- compared to her competitors. The accountability for large ticket items she would "forget" what she sold and refer me to a list. Okay fine, but at least have conversations- these were items that were close to heart. Piano, Grandfather clock, a Picasso.... We did not go for her "clean out service" which may be the reason for all the rudeness. At closing time, behavior continued to soar downhill basically yelling my team for taking the 15 tables down, getting them out of the house and putting them by the driveway for her to pick up. We didn't want her back inside the house as ultimately at the end there was a feeling of being ripped off. The final straw? Kelly brought her two dogs onto the property without asking, let them roam the house freely and left all their crap in the yard. I would call that shitty! Then at the end, it took forever (30 days) to get the check! It was so suspicious after a month of no check that she sent a photo of the check being put in the mailbox-who sends multiple thousands of dollars via regular usps mail? Answer: Kelly Charlshe does. I would never go to any estates sales by this company. I was there on the first day of the estate sale and was looking at a printer and was told it was $30.00. I thought I will wait to see if they have it in the last day and go check it out. I went on the last day the printer was there with another one it was not priced my mistake I should have know that was a horrible sign. Go to pay and she tells me it is $25.00 I tell the lady I was here on Friday you priced it at 30.00 so it it is half off it should be $15.00 plus tax. She proceeded to advise me that she was the owner and she was pricing things so why advertise 1/2 off if you are going to make up prices at the register. Crappy attitude by the owner. I will never go to any estate sales by this company as they say it is 50% off but a lie as nothing is ticketed or priced. How do we really know the owner makes up a price when you are at the register so she raised the price to make it more profitable for herself horrible horrible service. read more

I'm assuming the blonde lady stating she was in charge is Kelly per other reviews. Idk who Grasons was with prior to this human, but she isn't doing a good job representing the name or the business. Grason's used to mean a certain level of professionalism. Now it seems to represent really bad professionals, poor personal hygiene of the professionals there, and dodgy pricing. Kelly's interactions with customers were so erratic I was concerned that she may be under the influence of something. I attended an estate sale in Redondo beach and the blonde woman in charge (again, Kelly?) was nice and charming until someone disagreed with her pricing then WATCH OUT. I witnessed her treat people like absolute trash by talking down to them, mocking them, ignoring them, etc. She neglected me so badly I walked away from an entire box full of items I was about to purchase... On top of my observations and personal experience with Kelly, she wouldn't shut up about how much money she's making and how easy it is to "help" people during their time of mourning or loss. She was sarcastic and odd as she made these statements- honestly I'm concerned for her. This may be a great business endeavor but you shouldn't make light of someone's loss just because you make money from it. read more

What a help Kelly has been! After a family member died unexpectedly, we were trying to cope with not only the sudden loss, but also the incredible disarray we found her house in. There was over half a century of accumulated stuff--a mix of treasures and junk that was difficult to sort through. We didn't know how we'd take care of it all to prepare the house for sale, especially since we didn't live in the area. It was such a relief to find Kelly. Shortly after I left a message, she returned my call and we met the same day, during the short time we were actually at the house. She immediately came up with a plan for us and clearly explained how her estate sales operated. Best of all, once we took the items that we wanted to keep, she did all the rest of the sorting, including taking photos that she posted online for potential buyers. Whenever I needed to reach her, she always returned my calls promptly. And her team was amazing. They put everything in order for the days of the sale and cleared everything afterwards. 1 star for responding to my text at 11pm so that I luckily did not have to waste a night waiting to get the furniture I wanted at a sale. Kelly's listing for the sale states that a list will go out at 7am the morning of the sale which is a standard rule for estate sales. So as with 99% of estate sales in Southern California, if you want to be first, you show up early and wait. Well I showed up at 11pm to spend the night in my car only to find a long line of boxes running along the porch already. I looked around and no one was in any of the cars parked around so I texted Kelly. She informed me that you can leave a box and go home. So apparently there is no reason for a list after all! Kinda wish that was at least in the online listing so I didn't waste my time, gas, and energy driving out there only to find out she contradicts the rules of her listing. read more

Kelly and Grasons South Bay Beachside were referred to us by a Realtor as we struggled with how to clear out and re-purpose our parents' 67 years of furniture, clothing, books, and collectibles. We truly didn't know where to start with a process that we estimated could take months, if not a year, to complete. Kelly met with us, explained her processes that have been honed over several years and hundreds of estate sales. She reassured us that we just needed to remove the personal records, photos, and memorabilia that we wanted and she would do the rest. True to her word, she and her team showed up 4 days prior to the start of our sale to sort and organize the house and garage. She conducted the sale over 3 days and afterward, her extremely competent clean-out crew took less than 1/2 day to remove everything that didn't sell. The house and garage were left swept out and completely vacant ahead of schedule. Within a couple of days, we received an itemized accounting of the sale which was fair and consistent with the contract we had signed. I highly recommend her services. read more

BE WARNED!!! I hired Kelly after she ensured me that she would get top value for my deceased father's belongings for me. There was only one set of things I was very specific about, my father's high end bedroom furniture set. I left her the receipts and warrantees (8k in receipts) for it so she knew its value and could price it accordingly. I repeatedly requested her to inform me if it wasn't going to sell at a decent price so I could have it removed from the sale. I don't live in so cal but I have friends there that could have picked it up for me if there were any signs that it wasn't selling. She ignored all my requests. She didn't communicate with me at all during the sale and sold the full set at $480 of which I had to pay her 40%. Not only that but she didn't disclose that day two of the sale, everything is sold at a 50% discount. That wasn't in the contract and I did not agree to that. After reading the invoice, no sales were made on day one and everything sold on day two at a 50% discount. Then she proceeded to charge me $750 for the clear out, which as a person who knows the hauling business (I breifly owned a hauling company and know business and dump rates per ton) is ridiculous for what was left over and the person hauling it away usually does it for a low cost because they themselves usually sell the left overs for profit instead of dumping them. They ended up making more from my father's estate sale than I did and she took zero accountability for ignoring my requests to remove the key items. She also failed to inform me that I could have auctioned those items off with their company. I'm extremely disappointed in my choice to use her. Like I said above, her saying they were all about getting top dollar for our loved one's belongings, is what made me feel like she was a good choice. But in hind sight I was completely wrong and that was a total lie. I would not recommend her at all. If act, I advise everyone to steer clear of her and this company. They do not have the clients best interest at heart. BE WARNED!!! read more

Even though I came into the auction when it was well underway the staff were attentive to my questions about the bidding process and how to make payments. My brothers and I retained Grason's South Bay to hold an estate sale of our parent's house in Torrance after our mother passed away 3 months before. We were referred to the company's CEO, Kelly Charlshe, by our realtor and couldn't have made a better choice. At the outset, Kelly was both sensitive to our situation and offered a professional approach. She was aware of the importance and immensity of our task at hand as our parents' house contained memories and household furniture and items spanning over 66 years. After an initial meeting to explain the process, fees, costs and logistics associated with the estate sale, Kelly advised us on how to prepare for the project which was extremely challenging emotionally and physically. However, Kelly's experience was obviously why the 3-day estate sale was successful. She personally took an inventory of the household items, identified those that were noteworthy brands, accurately appraised items and put together an online montage of the items in a brilliant marketing display. After the successful sale, Kelly's staff and a vendor removed the remaining items and cleaned the house in a thoughtful and respectful way. All of this was accomplished within a timely way and we have since prepared the house for sale and just entered escrow with a prospective buyer.
