Cannot recommend Lori and Michelle enough! Temporarily moved back to Long Beach to help my mom downsize and we were overwhelmed by the amount of things, especially heavy and older antiques in our house. We were preparing to smash everything and higher a massive dumpster, which would have cost us hours and thousands of dollars. Found Lori here and she answered my call and came the next day to check everything out. We were in a gated community so it made selling more difficult, but happily took us on. While it was not a traditional estate sell, she used all of her contacts to stop by and priced everything. She made sure only trusted people came into our house, waited at the gate to make sure they were okay, and made sure to negotiate all of the prices for us. Not only is she well connected in the community, but Lori is extremely understanding. She is happy to work as quickly or as slowly as you need and so helpful with parents who are not as happy to see her coming. With my mother not being as understanding of the process, Lori was open and there with anything we needed. She accommodated the odd hours we worked and having to make sure she was not in the house during certain time periods. We tried to sell a few things on Facebook Marketplace and it was a nightmare, Lori had someone who took a bulk of our things for one price and helped to haul out trash as well. She truly has a person for everything and had no hesitation in calling them same day and getting someone out in less than an hour. Every time that I had questions about the smallest things, I received an immediate call from Lori. No matter what time of day she was always on top of it and happy to connect with you. Finding someone to work through a tough HOA community and with heavy furniture, I was super nervous that no one would take us on. I could not have been able to tackle moving my aging mother had I not had Lori and Michelle and I cannot say enough good things about the two of them. Losing parents is tough. Having to deal with a funeral, then the burial, and then all the paperwork to settle their estate, is rough. But what about all the stuff they leave behind? Who wants Dad's shot-glass collection? I don't have time to sort/itemize/sell everything. Do you? Just finished my SECOND estate sale with Lori and her team. The sale was incredibly organized, properly advertised and run like a well-oiled machine. She has a number of repeat buyers who come to her sales regularly to see what treasures and deals they can find. Lori is part life coach, grief counselor and drill sergeant. She tells you what to do (and not do) to prepare for the sale, and gives excellent pointers along the way. "Don't throw out that paint can - someone might buy it!" Coming from a family of hoarders, it made sense to me why Lori and her team would not want to see customers perpetuate the pattern of moving family memorabilia (and junk) from a loved one's garage to your own garage. Pickers R Us did such a fantastic job on our house. After our mom had passed, we had decided we needed to sell our family home. My brother and I had an impossible task to clear out our family home of 50 years so we could sell it. I cannot say enough good things about Pickers R Us. My brothers and I were overwhelmed by the amount of stuff in our father's condo and had no idea where to start. We needed to empty my uncle's house quickly to get it in shape to list. At 95, he had a lifetime of stuff crammed into his home. Most of it looked like junk to me, and I'm grateful our realtor put us in touch with Lori. She took an overwhelming task out of our hands, which was the primary benefit to us. There wasn't much money in all of that stuff, but I'm confident Lori got us a fair price and her connections and know-how allowed us to exceed what we would have gotten on our own. She moved up her timeline to accommodate us and pulled the sale together quickly. She was honest and down-to-earth. She gave us good advice and when she found something she thought we might want, she set it aside for us. Her communication is excellent, which was particularly important because we are not local. The price to clean out the items that didn't sell was reasonable. After we went through the house to remove personal and sentimental items, we waited for Lori and her team to work their magic and 10 days later we had a completely empty house and a check on the way. We have been going to Pickers R Us sales for a few years now. I appreciate the emails we receive alerting us to upcoming sales. The photos are great, too. I don't like the dealer/resell presale thing going on, though. We buy for ourselves and would likely pay more than the resellers but we are often not called/alerted until after the resellers Ha e already picked over the good items. I am also not cool with the sign up sheet thing. Signing up in line and being allowed to enter when it's your turn is silly. Look, we have other things to do than wait to shop at your sale. Hire more staff but don't make good customers wait. Lastly, Lori needs to learn how to be a little more gracious to those that are buttering her bread. Other than this, PRU is doing an ok job. - Prices are a little high, but as long as negotiating is still an option we're all good. read more

We contacted Lori when we had limited time to clean out all of my father's belongings after he passed away. I originally thought I was going to hold the estate sale on my own until I met with Lori and she explained everything that Pickers R Us does as a full service provider. Not only was Lori able to connect with experts to price all of my father's collections and tools, but her whole team came in and set up the entire sale and knew exactly who to call to bring in to review my father's treasures. Pickers R Us treated my family's home and possessions with respect and they also were extremely sensitive to the fact that our family was still in mourning. What a great all around business to have help us during such a stressful time. We selected Lori for our estate sale after viewing her heartfelt video and meeting her in person. She was transparent, knowledgeable and fun. It is evident she enjoys what she is doing and has the connections & resources for anything requiring expertise (a book appraiser, etc.). We had rare finds we didn't even know about such as an old music poster that sold for over $200. She is honest, forthcoming and responsive. She booked a junk guy who didn't clear out all remaining items as planned, but Lori profusely apologized and said she wouldn't use him again. Estate sale in Corona today, was very nicely presented with things set out ahead of time on tables (it was advertised with photos online days ago) but nothing was priced! Very inconvenient. I noticed about 5-6 employees working there, but only one person in the whole sale could give prices?? So I had to stand waiting for her to price me out in the garage. Pickers R Us, did you know you had St. John dresses in the closet? (they were well hidden and I don't know if that was intentional or not by this company) One lady looked surprised to see them. That's the stuff you should have priced and set out....Well, the main lady never had the time to help me so another woman quoted me a low price on some candlesticks and a glass platter in my frustration so I could be on my way. I frequent estate sales weekly because I resell, so I'm no dummy as to how this works. My personal opinion is that a company who doesn't price their items is a little shady and not only takes advantage of the customer but also the client they work for (usually the very elderly or bereaved). I hope that's not the case here. Unfortunately I won't be back because it is a waste of my time. read more

Wow! My parents were packrats/savers and their house and garage were VERY full of tons of stuff of all types big and small, and my siblings and I were faced with a quite daunting task of how to disposed of it all and end up with a completely empty house so that we could get it on the market quickly. Enter Lori and PickersRUs! They responded to my call immediately, did a quick walk through of the house and gave us 3 simple instructions (1. remove all personal items or items we wanted to keep, 2. don't throw anything out just because we didn't think it was worth anything (this turned out to be great advise because a number of items I would have just thrown out ended up selling), 3. leave everything in place as they would handle moving things around and organizing them for the sale (this was quite a relief to hear because much of what was there was quite randomly placed throughout the house and garage)). Within a few days Lori and her team came in and did some preliminary setup, their website listing of the sale was extremely comprehensive with tons of pictures, and within 2 weeks the sale took place, a lot more stuff was sold than if my siblings and I had tried to do this ourselves, and we ended up realizing more than we had anticipated (although the primary purpose of the sale was to empty the house and make sure that as much stuff as possible didn't end up in a landfill). We had chosen the option to have PickerRUs dispose of everything that remained in the house, which they did through a combination of charitable donations to charities that would pick things up (those charities are few and far between these days), giving leftovers to someone who would haul them away at no cost (if you've ever priced a "junk" haulaway, you know that having things hauled away for free is a great deal), and arranging for a dumpster into which they loaded everything that still remained. So we ended up with a COMPLETELY EMPTY HOUSE! I can't imagine doing this any other way. read more

I do not recommend them. Lori, the woman who runs the company is extremely rude and disrespectful. She is erratic in her pricing depending on who the customer is. I've heard from other shoppers that she cherry picks the best items from the estate prior to the sale. On a positive note - the other staff members are helpful and pleasant. read more

Pickers R Us did a great job on the estate sale we had. Lori came over to my mother's house in Culver City well in advance of the sale and clearly explained the entire process to us. She took pictures of most of the items being sold and posted them on her website. She has a lengthy mailing list and she did a super job of publicizing the event. She priced all items in advance of the sale and her crew was very professional. She also arranged to have unsold items removed from the house at a very reasonable price. I have never used or have been to an estate sale before, recently I had the daunting to clear my parents house as they were going to be moving in with me. They had a lot of stuff but after meeting with Lori she said that it would only take 3 days and her team will take care of everything, all I needed to do was pick out all the things we wanted to keep and put them inside a single room. Lori only took 1-2 days before the sale to organize all the stuff in the house for the sale, I was honestly shocked even though she told me ahead of time that she was fast I just thought it was something people say but the whole house looked different and everything was organized. The sale took place over a course of 3 days (Fri-Sunday) and to my surprise there were a lot of people that came. Approximately 75% of the stuff sold, there were some things that didn't sell but overall I was surprised about all the stuff that did sell. We made a decent amount of money, and if we were to have donated or throw away the stuff in the house it would have cost us more money than what we made. A big shout out to Lori! We hen we realized our mom could not return home after a hospital stay and would not be coming home we knew it was time to sell her house. I had to clean out my mother's house, sell what we could and empty out the rest, so I interviewed a couple companies, and they looked around with their noses in the air and then told me how much they were going to cost, and it sounded like I was going to end up owing them money by the time they cleared out everything.
